The World Of Warcraft Europe website has recently posted an interview with a member of the German workshop group BattleHeat, who took it upon themselves to create a positively amazing set of tier 2 Paladin Judgment armor from the game. The group spent hundreds of hours getting everything just right, going as far as creating a special support structure under the shoulders to give them that trademark WoW hugeness. BattleHeat won't be selling this armor anytime soon, but the interview does give handy tips for blacksmithing, so you should be able to make your own given the right materials and a good decade to hone your skills. Might want to get started on that.

Its a can of nerd soup.
Wow, that's dedication right there. Not sure it's channeled in the right direction, but who am I to judge?
That's some high quality pally armor.
Dang that is some sexy armor. I always loved the look of Judgement. It is an amazing piece of work, they should be proud...even though they made real life wow armor >.>
i was just reading this on wow-europe lol
looks good but could you imagine everyone dressed like this irl?
would be insanely weird....and sad.
but impressive crafting young mason!
They forgot the bubble and the hearthstone.
The craziest thing about the article is that a WOW player spent hundreds of hours doing something other than playing WOW.
I hate paladins for the same reason^^^
that always was my favorite set of armour
Never made it far enough to get any pieces though =(
That guy is going to get so much ass.
Obviously this is pre-2.3, cause the retadin is pullin mah aggro
I like the helmet.
And I bet this will protect you from getting laid... ever.
Hate to meet him in a dark alley.
....cause I can't imagine what horrific shit he must be doing in that alley so late at night.
That armor provides +30 protection from ever being laid.
The problem with most cosplay costumes is that they have that fake, stiff look to them. There's no weathering or other effects that give it that "worn & used' look.
Nice job regardless, though.
@cordsie: LOL.
@Brine:
Well, WoW isn't exactly the best base for realistic armor.
@Brine: And the fact that it's not really armor
Isn't this like 2 years old ?
I think it's the derrogatory kind of "amazing"
Looks good BUT.. as an avid WoW Player I'm entitled to this:
LOL PALLY
What's the word for; impressive yet shameful...?
loladins
@Project Thanatos: self mockery rocks!!! I'm thinkin of starting to avidly play WoW again but can I, as a valued member of the IRL society, afford to???
*grumbles weakly* yes....
I wonder how hard it is to move in that thing.
+24 Female Resistance
@jynxycat: Yes. This armor was crafter a few years ago now. So this is very old news, perhaps it was posted here back then...
Still it's very cool and impressive, so doesn't hurt to see it again after all those years.
worst armour design i have seen.
Any sword deflection off the shoulder plates will either lopp off your head or slice off your arms.
lol what a loser!! i hope that "armor" protects him from jocks.
The armor covers his pocket protector nicely.
@Dougman: I don't know what's worse, the picture of a guy wearing video game armor or you critiquing the armor's sword blocking properties.
@coolest_dude: He's a German Blacksmith. Somehow, I'd say the jocks would need protection from HIM.
Just when you thought WoW couldn't get any lamer......all of a sudden.....it does!
"Real Life World Of Warcraft Armor"
AKA The World's Strongest Pussy Repellant
Too late to write "in b4 nerds make fun of other nerds just because it's hip to let down cosplay"?
Folks, just because someone built an object from his favourite videogame doesn't mean that they are WEARING IT LIKE IT WORKS AND GO AROUND WITH IT. Flash news: they don't think it works. It's just dedication, like people who buy chocobo plushes without riding them.
The "protection against girls" comments are just sad.
Very nice work there, BattleHeat sirs.
@Vidunder: Just what I was thinking.
@Vidunder: I agree. Very classy stuff. And a good amount of dedication with the construction. Even if it weren't WoW-related, the workmanship is worthy of commendation.
I'd like to see some of these commentators tell this German Blacksmith face-to-face just how nerdy they think he is.
I believe the last laugh would be on them.
@Vidunder: Wow, glad someone finally wrote this.
If justice and faith are his weapons, why is he carrying a big ass hammer?
Am I the only one amazed at how he simply used a log for his Warhammer's head ?!
I have a feeling that this guy, a skilled blacksmith, has less trouble getting laid than the average Kotaku poster.
And MUCH less trouble than the average Kotaku poster who makes comments like "lol pussy repellent!"
In the name of the immortal god-emperor of man, you wil surrender to the might of the Inquisition Ordo Hereticus!
This suit looks like crap. Not that the suit itself is crap, it looks good for cosplay, but....WOW pally armor doesn't transition well to real-life with the scrolls all over it.
I was at Sakura-con a few days ago.. saw someone with this costume and the Ashbringer... it's quite an incredible costmue in person...
New! Wearable birth control!
he should have a blog
how to kill your d*ck in one photo =)
Nothing sad about it when you're at a convention with the best looking costume out of the hordes of other people wearing costumes!
i have to laugh at all the commenters posting about this guy and his 'girl-proof' cosplay.
Clearly none of you have seen (muchless dated) some of the hotties that like to play WoW and/or cosplay.
@SFLegend: you beat me to it. Funny how one of WoWs best looking armor is a rip off of Warhammer armor.
@Rallion:
yes, because skilled blacksmith just screams pussy-magnet...
@belo:
clearly you don't know about how companies pay cosplayers at conventions. And even if there are a couple decent looking girls that play WoW and are dedicated enough to cosplay, you can bet that they're already taken by the guy that got them into it and/or a non-nerd.
@belo: its actually so much more sad you think the 'hot' girls playing these games are actually hot. The normal ones go outside.
I think if he put the mask on, it would be much cooler...his face kinda takes away the illusion in an 'oh, it's just some WoW player in a costume' sorta sense.
@Lot Krotan:
Not true. There are lots of single, attractive, female cosplayers and gamers. The problem is the vast majority of "hardcore" male gamers have problems with hygiene and social interaction, or their IQ's drop exponentially when faced with a member of the opposite gender.
@SnakeCL:
@Lot Krotan:
Last saturday in Milan, Italy.
[www.giorgiacosplay.com]
The one on the right is a female cosplayer.
And none of them got a eurocent by Blizzard (fact is no cosplayer in Italy gets money from companies)
That guy looks scary.
@Hauler: Hey now..lots of WoW players do other things than play WoW. I play other games and work and maintain a household! ....and play WoW in my free time...whats this sleep thing? The crazy part is the making of the armor..then again go to blizzards page and look at the professional quality artwork people spend days drawing and painting and stuff..they're a little..fanatical aren't they?
@Lot Krotan: I can name half a dozen single attractive female cosplayers and gamers. Not a one of them will say they're single when confronted with a fan boy at a convention drooling at their chest.
@Yatterman: Nice, but is she attractive? I don't know because I can't see anything but her knee.
@SnakeCL:
"The problem is the vast majority of "hardcore" male gamers have problems with hygiene and social interaction"
Let's play generalize, the same is true for women.
Also, about attractive female cosplayers and gamers, yes, they exist. But how often do you see them prancing around in their costumes and yelling for everyone to hear that she loves [videogame of choice]? You mostly see them showing pictures to their friends or online. Because it's a sure shot that if you're attractive, female and a videogame fan, there will be hordes of smelly and socially inept men shuffling on to you like zombies to delicious brains.
They also have made Nightmare's suit of armor. Very cool.
Real life nerd with too much disposable income ...
@ZombiePuppy: She is very attractive
[www.aurarinoa.it]
That reminds me of a time in feralas when I got ganked by 2 plallys in that armor years ago.
I really want to be impressed by this, but I'm finding it to be quite difficult because it's WOW related.
Thank you WOW. You mood-killer you.
I really love it when nerds bash other kinds of nerds for their particular brand of nerdiness. You're a bunch of jerks. Also posting things like "pussy repelant" is a sure sign of never having been laid..
I guess that a lot of people would think that posting on kotaku is a sure sign of never getting a girl.
It kinda reminds me of people saying "Sure, I drink. But at least I don't smoke weed", "I smoke weed, but at least I don't do any of that chemical shit", "Yea, I take ecstasy every now and then, but at least I don't do heroin", "Sure, I take heroin, but at least I'm no GAMER".
Fuck you all. The guy who did this is obviously a master of his craft. Which is probably more than could be said about 99% of the morons here trash talking about him.
When was the last time you created something with your hands? And no, wanking doesn't count.
@little_dragon:
I love it when people get angry on the Internet. :D
