I dig Zelda's "WTF is this?" picture.

Not to be negative, but...their eyes aren't lined up with their heads in several examples. Unless he's trying to portray them as fundamentally deformed, it fails.

I suppose it's good in concept, but the execution is shoddy at best.

@fullmetal7: Higurashi`s story is like by far 10 times better than most shit Hollywood puts out nowdays.

The art style is supposed to be totally crazy. Higurashi is a psychotic murder mystery.

Very cool. Loved Snake thrown in at the end. Was hoping for Sonic.

@Witzbold: Reading up on it, it does sound pretty interesting. Perhaps I've just been looking at the wrong stuff lately. There is a lot of garbage out there as well.

I'm hooked on Higurashi, it's one of the few anime I still watch.
The artwork on this was kind of meh, but whoever did this managed to get the feeling of the series right. Some of those were downright creepy, especially Peach and Pit.

@fullmetal7: The animation quality isnt exactly the high point of the series, but the story itself is very well done. Highly disturbing too if anything.

Also I have to agree those were... sub-par. Even assuming actual animation would add significant fluidity to them... no. Just... just no.

@evening-aura: I remember seeing some random scene (it may have been the beginning of an episode) where some girl was stabbing herself in the head, repeatedly, and laughing maniacally. Pretty sick. And by sick, I mean awesome.

It was funny, but nothing great IMO. I wouldn't mind if it was animated.

@Captain Impulse: Yup, that sounds like Higurashi. There is also one scene where a character is forced to pull of her fingernails.
Good times, I sat on my hands for a couple of days after watching that scene.

So of this really isn't very good, but one with the five of them around the table is alright, and that image alone would probably have been good enough for the purpose of this post. Video format creates anticipation that will be disappointed.

Editing anime characters to look like Brawlers seems to be popular recently. In both cases, sometimes it works decently, in some cases it looks horribly obvious. And both stay far away from the non-human characters.
