I'm not a GTA fan, but this was pretty good. It's good to see Rockstar showing the TV watching masses that they have a sense of humor.

@Earthslide: Well the graphics do seem "next gen." (Can I still use that term?) But to have the city working with all the new AI tricks and the density of people, cars, buildings, etc. I dunno... I'm impressed. I'm betting the Wii couldn't run GTA IV without some hiccups/ or gimping. Not that it will ever be ported.

I don't know what it is, but I'm just not excited for this. I LOVE GTA, I've played San Andreas more than most people should, but I just can't get my excitement levels above "cool." Perhaps I'm worried that it just will be more of the same, perhaps a high res version of GTA 3. I just feel that they haven't had enough time to fully design GTA from the ground up, which is what I'm hoping for.

@Goemon: I love you guys who haven't even played the game and already don't like it. Seriously Next-Gen isn't only about graphics...ya know there is this thing called Gameplay that helps bring it all together.

I should get into this business, instead of the music industry as I'm heading. I could go put games together that look magnificent and there could be little to no gameplay and people like you would eat it up!

I don't think the guy is necessarily a sony fanboy since you seem to think Lost Odyssey is better than ff8-12. It just makes you out to be some sort of MS fanboy...not that fanboyism is necessarily new in a GameStop.

Lost Odyssey would have been a better movie than it was a game. Nothing new in it at all. It suffered from the same disease as Blue Dragon to me (i.e. The storyline didn't really start to get good till a few hours into it.) There are JRPGs out there better than FF8-12, unfortunately Blue Dragon is not one of them.

On topic...The graphics don't look that amazing to me at all. Maybe I'm not seeing what everyone else is, but while the graphics are a step up from San Andreas, they look about a year behind what came out recently. Seems to me that was the same deal as San Andreas. Not the best, most impressive graphics, just good enough to look nice and convey what the developers wanted and not have people 'complain' about the graphics.

Now I will say the PRESENTATION of the video was nice.

This most definately will stay in my console for many many months to come. The new COD4 maps should keep me busy til' then. The first thing i'll do in GTA4 is play some pool drunk both in game and out.

you've got a point, but GTA has never been about end all graphics, it has always been about the gameplay and open world play. I'll take fun gameplay over graphics any day. Case in point assasin's creed, looks really nice, but pretty boring after the third mission, its the same thing over and over again. Or even, army of 2, no amount of graphic polish will convince that the game is fun to play with its silly weapon selection system and weird configuration.

I hope they still have like the vigilante, fireman, and ambulance missions! This game is going to fucking rock so hard! And the multiplayer?! This game sounds like it'll take so long to finish, that's so good in today's games. They're so short!
