There are a lot of splendid jokes hitting the net today, a lot of bad ones too, but this wonderful Zelda the Movie trailer created by IGN has to take the cake. I for one am happy it's a prank, Link, a real Link, wearing that silly little green hat is the last thing I want to see in a movie theater.
Legend of Zelda Movie Trailer Premiere Your dreams realized. [IGN]

I would actually like to see Link (maybe not this one) and his silly green hat in a movie theater. Something tells me I'm not the only one
Very well done, a little cheesy but still this is amazing for some guys at IGN.
Yeah, saw this a couple of hours ago. I don't know who's the fool; i people who believe this shit or IGN for the money the wasted on something so big. Should've have just bought a cake shop.
Saw it earlier today, and I'm upset. Now I really want to see a real Legend of Zelda movie.
They need to recast Link though, that guy doesn't fit well.
Impressive. They spend a lot of money on these April fools jokes.
@Milihpen: He does look like a tool doesn't he.
Except for the hella cheesy Ganon, everything was really well done.
Good job IGN! (Not a phrase I use too often...)
Wait. This was a prank?
GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD!
Is there anyway they could make the little green suit good? I think not, and that is why they can`t make a movie out of it...
If a Zelda movie were to be made like this I might watch it, as long as Ganon and Link were de-lamified.
...
Huh?
I saw this earlier too, but I don't care. It's awesome, so well produced. Seriously, the Internet as a whole has stepped up proudly on this most silly of days. Those pagans would be proud.
So impressive. Looked like a real movie trailer.
If a Zelda movie was real, it would only make sense if it was made by Japan.
Is it wrong that I really want to see that as a proper film?
I would happily munch my popcorn through that if it was real.
Ah, explains the leaked shots.
Brilliant. Murdoch's money well-spent for a change :)
I just wonder what Gaaaaanon's up to!

man if they can make it look that decent imagine what could be done with a actual movie budget. Id watch it.
This is the most elaborate April Fool's day hoax I've ever seen. Even though it's so obviously a hoax, A++++ for effort.
So I'm the only person that really hated this when I saw it? It looked like a bastardization of the game - which is why I give it so much credit.
I feel like they really caught that video-game to movie mistranslation feel.
That's an awful lot of work they put into that thar prank =D
Man, this was so well done, Its to bad its fake :(
Ha! Imagine all the disappointed Nerdboners.
I can't even imagine how much this cost to make. It seems more like a bad idea than an april fools prank.
Wow, the movie itself looked like crap, but the production value was crazy. Some of those scenes did look cool though.
I am going to geek out right now and say that Link's LEFT hand is supposed to glow with the triforce symbol- not his right. I am so sorry.
How completely wonderful this was =D
Best thing all day for me, I loved it =D
And now i want to see it as a real movie =D
I cant stop smiling =D
=D
I'm going to go ahead and say that wasn't a prank at all. Thats some serious budget to do just as a prank. My bet is that this was shot for some other purpose (maybe a spec) and then someone decided to re purpose it. Otherwise, thats an awful waste of likely more than $100,000 or so.
Yeah, I got to give it up to everyone this year. They've all stepped up their game to a whole other level. Just imagine what next year will be like. @_@
Hell of a lot better than anything Uwe Boll's made, prank or not.
I can't believe how real this looks. I wonder how much this cost them to make. I almost want to believe it's real, lol. Everything look good except the green hat and clothing. Live action Link should wearn something a bit darker and no hat
Soon we'll see official Zelda movie cakes. Hmmm april 1st is officially Cake Day.
Amazing. While I would normally be sickened at the thought of a zelda movie, this fake trailer opens up the potential window and lets in a gentle breeze of 'what if' excitement.
i was waiting for somebody to say "i am error."
This is probably the best April Fools Day gag so far. Mainly because it looks believable. Sure it scream fake, but at the same time, sorta maybe true.
that was very well done.
one of the best jokes today.
Brrr...shivers down my spine because I know, right now, Uwe Boll is taking notes and declaring this his next project.
@SPni: i agree. that was brillent. now i want to see a real Zelda movie!
I would actually like to see a zelda movie I think if they got a real director for the project not that awe boul guy or whatever his name is this could actually turn out to be a good movie. I am aware that this is a joke but it could be cool if done right.
Where's Tingle!?!
peter jackson gonna sue somebody!
Not a bad little prank. I mean it is sci-fi channel worthy movie money put in to this at least. I applaud IGN. Now I wish someone would make a serious one, that was actually quality for once.
They did a great job. They have the best prank of the day (thus far). I wouldn't say it had the production value of a real Hollywood blockbuster film, but it was still very impressive.
The second I saw it earlier on IGN today, I knew it was a prank, but still...wow! After watching this trailer, I kind of wish it wasn't.
I've hated the idea of a Zelda movie (judging by the past of video game movies). But, now seeing the IGN prank movie I gotta say, if done right, it would be pretty sweet. I think the team that came up with the prank trailer could actually do a good job at a real movie.
wow could you imagine a 2 or so hour movie where the main character never spoke.... OR WAIT could you imagine a movie where a little blue fairy just blabbed on most of the time!( prb don't want to >_> )
Bah I need to play Ocarina of Time again. That game was awesome.
I wish they sunk that Zelda money into making a site that takes less than 90 seconds to load.
But seriously, that trailer makes some Sci-Fi channel movies tremble in fear...
That was probably the most expensive April Fool's joke I've ever seen.
They did some nice work realizing the world ... but you know what bothered me the most? The way the girl at the end looked at Epona -- it gave me shivers ^_^;
It seems Blanka has been cast in the role of Ganondorf.
The Zelda world would make for an interesting setting, but most of the gameplay doesn't lind itself well to a movie's format.
my opinion... while the idea isn't terrible (& I find hating on the hat to be idiotic.... if your a Zelda fan you should be very much used to the hat) if someone were to make a Zelda movie they'd have to do far better than that... seriously, choice of actors & costumes in this "trailer" are horrible... & Ganondorf looks godawful...
April fool or not, its production values reminded of World of Whorecraft.
Now that's an idea: The Legend of Zelda: the porno.
Oh how dare IGN toy with me like this. hmmm, does anyone else think Link looked like a Dolce & Gabana under wear model? Yeah I would buy some Zelda underoos...
