Kotaku
Welcome readers to the new face of Kotaku, a site rededicated to the minute coverage of all things Game Cake. It was a long time coming, but over the years we've noticed that while sites like GameSpot, IGN and 1Up voluminously cover the video game industry, little time is spent on that sweetest of tangents, the artful Game Cake.
No more will we waste your time by detailing the movements of game company CEOs, revealing early the secrets of consoles and developers alike, instead we will work to push Game Caking to the frosty heights it so richly deserves.
Expect in the weeks, months, years to come detailed secrets on the people behind the cakes you know and love, tips on how to prepare your own Game Cakes and nuanced features on the inner machinations of some of bakings greatest.
As always we will strive to stay in front of the pack, covering the game cake industry as both an outsider. Some might argue that all Game Cakes need is a cold glass of milk, but we at Kaketaku knows it needs some hard-nosed journalism.... too.

I am going to be the party pooper and say this whole "kaketaku" is dumb. And you know why? Cuz now I have nothing to read at work to kill time.

I have a real problem with the lack of numerical scoring on these cake reviews, how am I going to know which is better if you don't assign an artificial number generated in a secret process to each one?

Dude, I never cared about games anyway. I came to this site hoping for new cake posts each and every day.
I actually have a gallery at home, with pictures of gamecakes. My favourite is the half naked Kasumi from DOAX2. She tasted nice. :)
after eating every cake posted this morning, i feel incredibly ill. The delicous cake is so delicous i must eat more - TO THE CAKEFACTORY!
If you guys bothered to change the top-left logo I might have actually thought about pretending to fall for this. Shame!

I'm glad that Kotaku er...Kaketaku is doing this. It turns out I was able to hack the code for an Apple Spice Dump cake I've been dying to share with the world.
WARNING!!! SPOILERS AHEAD!!!
INGREDIENTS
1 (18.25 ounce) package spice cake mix
2 (21 ounce) cans apple pie filling
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon ground allspice
1 tablespoon white sugar
3/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped pecans
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C.)
Pour the cans of apple pie filling into a 9 x 13 inch rectangular pan.
In a small bowl, mix together cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice and sugar. Sprinkle mixture over pie filling.
Pour the dry box of cake mix over apples. Dot with butter and scatter nuts on top.
Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 45 minutes to an hour, until cake is brown on top and bubbling on the sides. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped topping.
I can't wait for Kaketaku after dark features...that apple pie a few posts below this looks...mmmm

Kaketaku has a nice ring to it no?! I thought Crecente would disclose some earth-shattering news ala Home for the PS3 as an April Fool's. This is a bit quirky but I like cakes.

Remember when cake use to be more prominent than coverage of video games around here. Today is bringing back so many memories of Triforce cakes, Halo cakes, etc.

I also have a big problem with the fact that all these different game cakes use different ingredients, whether it be different frostings, toppings, etc.
It would be much, much easier on cake designers if all the different makers of cake ingredients just made one standard set of tools and materials with which all cakes must be fashioned.
I mean it works for stuff like rice cakes, would we all be better off if all cakes were standardized and tasted the exact same as well?
