I know what you're thinking. You're thinking that might actually be a Mercenaries 2 screen, based on the explosions and helicopters and palette and such. Sorry, but it's Prototype. There's no lack of things exploding in this updated look at Sierra's superhuman action game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. They even throw in some bluish skies to mix it up! Blue skies, punching, blood, 'splosions and helicopters?! Fabulous!

When is this game coming out, again? It certainly is showing promise, though it definitely needs an update in visual quality.
I like how all those glorious concept art paintings boiled down to Mostly Brown.
'for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.'
And PC.
@ErskinPig: Hmm? PC? Never heard of it. (Updated!)
Brown... brown... brown... Explosion... Brown... Brown...
BLUE????
Genuinely hyped about this game. Hope it turns out the way I'm hoping.
I'll probably get it day one. Sandbox games are my crack.
This is one of my most anticipated games ever. The Hulk was so awesome and this game looks MUCH better.
Hmm. That sky doesn't have enough Next-Gen Brown in it. This'll never pass TRC.
Bluish? How dare the developers miss that. Add brown and grey to it this instant. Go!
I wish you could choose your powers, that would be pretty nifty.
But the game looks great anyhow,it just got on my games radar.
I see green grey orange yellow blue and brown. The lot of you are color blind.
I'm riding on this to be a well done sandbox game. I didn't enjoy Mercenaries or Crackdown too much, so here's hoping.
@psycoking: I'm sure they can cover with bloom.
@Garro: Forgot to mention white, black, red, and silver. I think those screenshots look nice, call me a philistine.
If it's overwhelming like Hulk:UD was, it'll fall apart completely. The reason I never got into Hulk is because you're constantly bombarded with missiles. There's no let-up . Sure, they do no damage, but the clutter the screen, mess up your actions and piss you off. It drove me insane.
So, yeah, they better manage it better.
@Garro: Philistine.
You asked for it. I mean, literally. Only here to help out y'know.
@Garro: Don't forget greyish-green and greenish-grey.
Sure there are other colors... but the base tone of the game is brown and more brown.
Like "Batman Begins" was a very "purple" show... it still had other colors. The blue shot is equivalent to going outside after a movie and the sun is still up... that much brightness after a long period of dark is just startling!!
@Polywhirl:
Why will it fall apart completely?
I, and a lot of the gaming world, LOVED Hulk: UD. It sits right beside Spiderman 2 as one of the best superhero single player experiences out there.
@Candlejack: Glad you've got my back on that :D
Wasn't this the game that had that real clean silvery feel to it or was that another game. I forget.
@Fatass of Kickassness: Update in visual quality? Watch it in motion, then revisit this statement.
@nikolajz1: Thinking Mirror's Edge, perhaps?
I want a Frankenreview of Dark Sector, Prototype, and Infamous.
This looks sweet. Very, very sweet.
Still want mercenaries 2 though. :( Hopefully there will be no more delays.
@nikolajz1: Dark Sectors first trailer looked like a scifi/cyberpunkesque spy game, then it got turned into a post-apocolyptic infection romp.
@atthegates: That was it. Thanks..haha Mirror's edge looks amazing
What's colour doing in my next-gen game?
@Clushje: Shut the hell up before somebody takes you for serious! You're going to ruin it!
looks great
It actually looks boring... I don't know, maybe it's just me.
@Komrade_Kayce: Well said, I still jump in to Spiderman 2 from time to time just for the web slinging.
Gee, sure is brown around here. With occasional explosions and splatters of blood.
I definitely have more interest in Prototype than Mercs 2, even though I'll most likely get both. I saw the gameplay vids and it looks awesome running and leaping on car windshields. I love the Crackdown vibe I'm getting from this game, but the shapeshifting stuff looks like it could really be a lot of fun. It's crazy that you can turn into anyone in this fantasy setting of NYC. I can't wait to see what they can do with this game when it's near completion. It's only at around 40% right now, so expect the visuals to get a bump before release. But the visuals already look very nice in motion. Much nicer than these screens would lead you to believe.
oh many this game will be soooo awesome.
oh man* not many.
I really hope this game turns out to be fun.
Games set in Manhattan = bring them on! Just make sure they don't suck please ("turning point" springs to mind as the most recent abuse of the world of oppurtunity that is games set in NY), hopefully GTAIV will give a real sense of the place even if they did rename everything.
Seems like they've made a few changes to the main character's appearance. Hmmm, he's a slimmer looking dewd now.
I saw the game running at the GDC talk they presented. It has some nice features, but even with the innovation in some areas looked like it would get boring after an hour.
It looks cool. Almost has a kind of "Akira" feel going on. Here's hoping for you turning into a giant blob dude.
AWESOME!! No pussy guns for that ass kicker, he's kicking ass and taking name Bourne style!!
I'm a bit worried about this game, I think it may be a bit disappointing (not bad, just another Assassin's Creed).
Also, I'd much rather just have Crackdown 2.
