Australian pop star turned "actress" Sophie Monk, who recently split with her fiancé, Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden, was spotted at the Griddle Café in West Hollywood on February 15th with a new man!
Just three days after confirming she had split with her rocker-fiancée Benji Madden, Sophie Monk was spotted having brunch with video game designer Jason Rubin!Could love be in the air for the Aussie starlet and the co-founder of Naughty Dog? One eyewitness told Star Magazine, "It looked like a date." Oh my god! If I never have to write this sort of tripe again it will be too soon. Pick a side, Rubin! Glamorous gossipy Hollywood or friendly, geeky gaming. I like writing about you, but the moment I type a serious sentence that begins with, "You'll never guess who was seen with..." is the moment before I go out shopping for bulk sleeping pills.

Does this mean we're going to be seeing Kotaku sitting alongside Cleo and Cosmopolitan in the shopping aisle now?
Features include:
How to beat your boyfriend at Halo 3!
What your Mii says about you!
PS3 in game XMB support announced - should you change your makeup to match?
And
Ken Levine talks to Oprah about the new BioShock.
Could this be the worst post on Kotaku ever?
Hmm, I expect seeing Kotaku with all the latest gossips on celebrities. When are we going to see the "Britney Watch" portion of the site? :p
@Fahey: What if Miyamoto and J Allard start dating?
That would be a justifiable reason, in my mind.
He's quite the "Naughty Dog".
Would you mind giving me Sophie's address? I'm going to write her a letter:
"Dear Sophie Monk,
Who the hell is Sophie Monk...?
Regards,
PT"
@Drue: It certainly hurt posting it.
@Drue: Amen to that. Not much else I can say...
Isn't it possible she could be doing voicework for some upcoming Naughty Dog game? She is supposed to be an actress after all.
@Polywhirl: That would just be hot.
@A_Zombie: Well, Paris Hilton has her own tag and has so for years. Why not? :P

Well that was fast lol.
It seems like with each passing year as video games grow in popularity, video game designers want to live more like rock stars.
It's really nice to see people in the games industry not being regarded as antisocial nerds, at least down under.
There's this guy I know, whom when I went clubbing with and we were chatting up the ladies, got really pissed off at when he misheard me and thought I said that we worked in the gaming industry (which we do).
Big taboo for him, apparently, but I couldn't give a hoot. He's got this idea that no woman can ever find anyone in the gaming industry remotely interesting. It's just sad how someone in the industry could view himself in a way that most people in society would not even consider.
Maybe he enjoys living in the 1980s, but I think he's a smarmy jackass.
The way I see it, if a person immediately finds another unattractive because of his or her profession, he or she certainly aren't worth the time. Good filter, that.
is this kotaku *checks website* it is? ..... why did you do this kotaku, why? :(
@Samos42: Which is what I thought too.
And just to make this post dirtier - Sophie Monk used to date Josh Lucas, who I believe did the voice of one of Wing Commander games.
@TheStarterWife: WHY MUST YOU TAINT THIS WEBSITE EVEN MORE?! :'(
@Mike Fahey: Hmm, if celebrities can get their own tags here on Kotaku, can I get my own since I came out in two movies as an extra? :p
Think about the starpower I add to Kotaku! ;)
@A_Zombie: Sorry. I secretly check this Kotaku everyday for GTA IV updates. I had to laugh when I saw Sophie's name here. Best press she's had in the States, where she's still trying to make a name for herself.
I'll go back to my GTA porn.
@TheStarterWife: lol
I feel kinda bad for not knowing who this "pop star" is.

OMG LOL cute couple!
I don't mind an unusual paparazzi post on Kotaku every now and then (and even if I did, who cares?), but I shure hope it doesn't turn into a trend.
Because I seriously don't give a rats ass about the personal lives of game designer celebrities... it's bad enough the excessive coverage on hollywood celebrities (not here though, thanks God).
Guys, don't make this a habit.
@yummygrubs: Actually, I bet it would be pretty cool if Ken Levine really did talk to Oprah about BioShock. Seriously.
Bulk sleeping pills? I think theres a Heath Ledger joke waiting to be had...
I'm pretty sure Shannen Doherty was dating someone from Pandemic.
The industry needs a Star Magazine. Jade Raymond is dating Cliffy B? Will Wright's Advice for Finding Mr. Right? I call that a guilty pleasure.
there goes Nathan Drake. now Australian pirates will go after him.
@Drue:
I vote yes.
Man, the Griddle has some delicious, big-ass pancakes. Mmmm...
Very interesting
I'm actually guilty of watching a movie with Sophie Monk, then looking her up in the credits and visiting her website, once. Sorry gamers, couldn't fight the urge.[
Jason Rubin hasn't really been in the industry for a while now (but of course props to him for forming Naughty Dog).
He's more of an entrepreneur in internet apps now.
this is news?
@JohnnyLA: 20+ years is a while:
[en.wikipedia.org]
Didn't say he wasn't awesome and had been in the industry since pretty much the beginning. :)
..but he left Naughty Dog is 2004. I consider 4 years to be a while.
Surely this is some other random man also named Jason Rubin and they've just gotten him mixed up with the ex-Naughty Dog guy? That man has too many muscles to have ever had anything to do with gaming.
PS <3 Sophie.
@CalcioFool: I think he's referring to the fact that he hasn't been with Naughty Dog for a while now, and hasn't been doing games. He's kind of a comic book guy now, from what I understand, and doing internet stuff, but he's been away from the game development for a piece.
