Who said we wanted more PS2 SingStar games? Europe, was it you? Thought so. Thanks a lot. You could at least have asked for one with a specific theme or genre (the world still needs SingStar Gregorian Chants), but no. You had to go asking for some crummy "SingStar Summer Party" compilation, which feels a lot less like summertime and a lot more like "pop music hell".

Jesus, that's horrible
For some reason, I've had Let's Dance in my head for days.
Needs more David Bowie to warrant a buy. Space Oddity? Pwease?
Ew, I see Umbrella on there.
Guaranteed suckage.
Not that it matters anyway though. Like I just said, needs more David Bowie, and I've only heard of about five of those artists anyways.
SingStar: Nō Theatre.
... I'd buy it. :3
your damn right, it was us, plunkett! This is what the rest of you get for not making Nintendo gives us SSBB yet! For every 2 weeks we dont have it, another random selection of craptastic songs will be released upon the rest of you :|
The next one we're talking about is "Girl Bands of the late Ninties"
@Mokai:
SingStar: Muzak: This Time You HUM
@Gypsie:
Beats boy bands of the mid-nineties.
I'm looking at you, N*Sync.
I hate you, Kotaku... Just by reading the song title, I'll have "Mambo Number 5" stuck in my head for the next few days. Awful, awful song, but it just gets ingrained in your BRAIN.
Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl.
Instant fail. Enough said.
@OneManFreakShow: i was only trying to cajole people into helping our cause...i dont want to incite mass suicide.
I got as far as Amy Crackhouse, opps, I mean whinehouse(or do I?) and came to the conclusion that something bad is transpiring here.
WHEN are they going to announce Singstar: Swing? You could even just call it SWINGSTAR. All your favourite swing and big band numbers, would certainly add a touch of class to the series. I honestly think it would sell buckets. Fly Me To the Moon, My Way, Ain't That A Kick In The Head etc...
these games have some of the worst songlists ever
Singstar: Jingles - Pop Pop, Fizz Fizz, indeed.
Singstar: Nike Commercials - Basically, everything. And "Revolution".
Singstar: Car Songs and Show Tunes - Who needs a road trip to strap your family down and force them into singing "Wheels on the Bus" and "Sweet Little Buttercup" until they pass out and leave you alone?
odd, i love singstar but cant stand guitar hero. usually its the other way round.
GRRRR! Can't stand Amy Whinehouse! I wanna choke that bitch!
YEAH! I bought every single SingStar Release 'til today and I will be buying this one! Can't wait to embarres myself in front of all my friends singing "Hold the Line"! No I'm kidding, I am a really good singer.
Yay, this makes up for europe not having rock band or smash bros...
*weeps*
I'm getting a vision of next Xmas with my wife's family. Her sister has every Singstar game in the world. This one isn't so bad, I'd sing the songs by Madness, Bowie, Klaxons or Pulp. I mean, there's a High School Musical one for crying out loud, get some perspective.
Someone tell me this is an EA game...
At least a few of those are likely to make their way into the SingStore for us PS3 players.
@Han Daimond: I think SingStar games are developed by Sony London.
@OneManFreakShow: Umbrella is the best song on there. By far.
(No, I'm not a fan of it, but damn that is a horrible selection of crap.)
Does anyone else think Amy Winehouse looks like Janice from friends?
They are already creating a new singstar that u can vote for...

@psychobadger:
As strange as she is, she's a very talented musician.
Also, SwingStar sounds awesome. If they ever make that, consider ten copies sold.
@OneManFreakShow: Thats your opinion. I for one think shes a very talented end of humanity.
David Bowie - Let's Dance should be in *every* form of rhythm action game ever. It would even work in "Rock" Band.
As for Girls Aloud - Call The Shots, well, I karaoke that on iTunes all the time *anyways*.
Rihanna will make this sell like rain-resistant hotcakes, but people will keep coming back to it for Peter Andre - Mysterious Girl.
God, I hate this game with a passion. Me and a couple friends tried it a couple years ago at a Sony thing-a-jig. Unless it's been improved it was horribly inaccurate and impossible to do well on.
Oh, and anybody know if Girls Aloud is a european band or something? I only have one of their songs and happened to get it from a some european guy. Haven't heard of them since till now.
Think about who plays SingStar, then think about what they listen to.
Only then will this make complete sense
I counted 1 good song. Hold the Line.
@Tiger-Fever:
Girls Aloud were the winners of Popstars: The Rivals, which was a Pop Idol show a few years ago where 2 groups, one of boys and one of girls, were picked by the Great British public. The boy band sunk without trace, but Girls Aloud have been quite successful, because (a) they employed clever songwriters/producers like Xenomania, and (b) they are good at being photographed mostly naked for FHM, Maxim etc.
@Kazzahdrane:
Swingstar: Squirrel Nut Zippers Edition
They should put out a Singstar: Mike Patton edition.
I'd buy it for shit and giggles.
@phicaluk: Ah, thanks. After I posted that I decided to go wiki them myself and it explained why most people (in Canada) have never heard of them. I definitely got the impression half their fanbase was only there for (b).
a good way to boost sales, put amy winehouse and her scabby face on the box...
@Tiger-Fever:
I think you're right. The boy band (their name escapes me) probably didn't look nearly as good lounging by swimming pools in skimpy lingerie. Well, unless that sort of thing floats your boat.
Is this in addition to the SingStar Pop 2 that was due out in May or did they just change the name of that one?
Mika, Blur and Pulp? Sounds good to me.
@Luke
"Who said we wanted more PS2 SingStar games? Europe, was it you? Thought so. Thanks a lot."
My god Luke, that's awful. I can't believe they're actually forcing you to buy it and play it. Those sadistic bastards!
Why is it that they're still making karaoke games for the PS2 and yet there are no decent karaoke games for the Wii. Ok, I realize why there's no SingStar for the Wii, but it seems like if you made a snap on mic for the wiimote and had a downloadable catalog of songs (maybe a dollar a song), you'd make a killing. Seems like it'd be perfect for the 'casual gamer' crowd that Nintendo seems to cater to. Maybe call it Wii Sing. Is this demographic too busy with Guitar Hero now?
So the worse you do, does Amy Winehouse's face change too?
I doubt Ms. Winehouse could even win with her own song.
all i have to say is BOOOOOOO!
Great, milking this IP like nothing else.
Milk, milk where have you gone?
MILK MILK WHERE HAVE YOU GONE?
Gah! What musical retard picked this list.
@OneManFreakShow:
Talented?! For ripping off the 60's motown sound?
hey!! Amy Winehouse!! They tried to make her go to rehab but she said "no, no, no"
then 2 weeks later she actually did go to rehab!
That list consists of nothing but fail.
@phicaluk: Thanks for that. I just quite literally sprayed Coke through my nose. This is going to suck to clean up.
DAMNIT. My sister will buy this, and then I'll have to put up with her singing.
Yup, just showed the family the track list, this is going to be a nightmare.
here's a novel idea, why don't they make a compilation of songs that you'd want to listen to as you die (the songs being so good that death would seem pretty unimportant) as opposed to a compilation of songs that make you want to die (the songs being so bad that death would seem like a worthy escape)?
This track list makes me feel young. I know like five of those songs. I hope that there aren't any more from my generation otherwise I'm going to feel out of the loop.
As for me buying this: HELLZ NOE. We still say "hellz noe" right? Just trying to be hip...
