British retailer GAME are running a little Mario Kart Wii competition. Pop into a participating store and you can sign up. Worst case scenario, you get some early hands-on time with one of the biggest Wii games of the year. Best case scenario? You progress through the tournament and win the grand prize: this modified VW Beetle convertible, painted in perhaps the only colour scheme that would ever get me going near one of the things. Those doing well but not well enough to win the car will score £250 "Experience Vouchers", which are good to redeem at places that offer stuff like paintball and...quadbike racing. More details below.

that's how you get the chicks.
Sounds like a pretty good competition. I'm interested to see if Mario Kart Wii controls better than the Gamecube version... somehow it felt more like the level was moving around than your actual kart, which made it way less fun than the N64 and DS games.
The car being one of a kind might make it worth a bit!
Cue complaining about the look of the beetle in 3 2 1...
Great my local Game, 25 miles away, isn't one of the participating stores.
By the way I think it starts 5th April.
Snazzy car! Someone should ask if it comes with a year's supply of spiked turtle shells. Or if it shoots bananas out of its trunk!
Whoever wins this should mod this thing so it will!
what a laugh to drive that around.
Shame about it being GAME though. Can't stand them.
With all due respect, I'll stick to just participate in the contest.
Wait, I don't live in Britain. Damn.
This is way better than that Win A Filthy Orphan Girl contest for Bioshock.
I would keep that baby fully stocked with turtle shells and banana's
Pretty cool but doing the competition only over one day is a bit retarded, particularly when it's a Saturday and Game will be heaving full of kids. Also Game Nottingham Victoria Centre is staffed by grumpy assholes, should have done it at the Lister Gate branch.
@Kadugen: good luck with the littering violation fines!
I don't get open-top cars. Aren't they easy to steal?
That car looks horrible. I'd be selling it on right away - probably after a respray.
@IronsUK:
You'd have to respray that horrible creation! Nobody in their right mind would drive it anywhere.
@IronsUK: Shit, you're gonna respray that!?
Do you know how much money you could make by selllling that to Mario fanatics?
ALOT.
@will:
I so would.
I would have being all for taking part but for some stupid reason GAME Birmingham (2nd Biggest City next to London) is not on the list.
That and I'm working. :(
Pff, that looks cool to me. What's with the hate of small cars, people? Your gamerscores aren't a big enough penis enlargement to validate a car that actually you know, makes some sense to have in a city environment?
PeZ
(soon-to-be-owner of a SmartForTwo)
@IronsUK: The car would be completely and utterly wasted on you if you had it repainted. Why not sell it to someone else?
Excellent. I'll never win but I might as well have a go. If I remember...
@Foxstar Sixtail: Yes true. I was being hypothetical anyway as I don't intend to enter the competition =)
I'll have left Birmingham to be back in Sheffield for Uni by then, where there are three stores (two in Meadowhall, one in city centre) - none are participating. Nearest is Leeds/Manchester. FFS!
Damn. The nearest to me is Cardiff. Why can't Newport be on the list.
FTL, would have been better as a Mini Cooper S, and you know it
The UK gets some Nintendo love for once. Woohoo!
somehow a minicooper would have hit that UK sweet spot a lot more than a VW
@LittlestLamshi: Yeah, especially with Volkswagon being German and all.
I have soo many VW bugs in Forza 2 repainted. I may have to add a new one.
Oh...my...god.
I will fight. I will WIN.
