Comments
Jesus, that Mars Volta track is INSANE on the album, but I haven't heard this mix. Does anyone know what the difference is?
Why do people like Weezer?
The Mars Volta?
fucking awesome.
DJ shadow kicks ass.
well, i hope that the european release has some exclusive tracks too and it would be rather splendid if the game had the option of a customisable soundtrack.
MARS VOLTA?! Oh man...
People like Weezer because they are deep but simple, sensitive but can rock your ass off. Kinda like the Foo Fighters.
Why would there be European bands exclusive to North America? Why are there songs exclusive to North America anyway?
"Excuse me Mr. Gamestop employee , what reasons are there for me to buy this game over say, another racing game?"
"Well , it does have some tracks from bands that you probably have never heard of which you can only get in North America"
"Sold!"
I haven't heard it either, but the track El-P did on his last album with The Mars Volta was sick. Hopefully this will be along those lines.
@Kyle81: listen to the Blue Album and Pinkerton and you will know.
@Deflicted: I thought the same thing. Why the fuck are they making music country exclusive. It's like one day they're saying, "Hey Europe thanks for a zillion pre-orders you get an exclusive car" and the next "Sorry Europe, NA is getting the better soundtrack, cause we said so."
On the other hand, I can't understand why they gave Europe an exclusive car either. Plain retarded.
That is all.
The Mars Volta??!! Holy shi-! But I wonder how the remix version sounds like...
Thin Lizzy is "gracing" it too huh?
Mars Volta yeah baby. Haven't heard of many of the others but I'll be checking them out. N-A GT soundtrack hasn't been good for a couple iterations. Here's hoping.
@Candlejack:
Don't bitch that SCEA is doing something for its region that SCEE didn't do for theirs. Bitch at SCEE and maybe they'll realize they need to care a bit more about their home region.
@Candlejack: It could simply be a licensing issue (ie. someone else already holds the commercial rights to these songs in Europe).
Yikes, looks like I'll be importing the American version just for the Mars Volta track. It'll hopefully be cheaper than buying the UK version too, what with the current exchange rate...
that said, aren't in-game custom soundtracks just around the corner with the eventual release of in-game-XMB?
DJ Shadow, hell yeah!
I'm not fond of the remix but just having Mars Volta is a bonus.
@ca$h: Who said I was bitching at SCEA? I'm bitching at Sony in general.
@Kyle81: El-P is the main man behind Def Jux, an indie hip-hop label. He's a sick producer with a taste for big distorted beats and tweaked out synths and samples. I'm a big fan of his, I think he can take the track to the next level.
Hells yeah to DJ Shadow. But Mars Volta is akin to having a girl robot fuck your ear with a robo-strapon.
@teh_joe:
Indeed. Weezer for life.
Justice? God, they're so good. Saw them live twice last week (Boston and Montreal).
Check out their live remix of Metallica's "Master of Puppets":
+ Watch video
This is just one of those things that's going to make Prologue that much sweeter.
Mars Volta, DJ Shadow, and Klaxons are no joke either.
with the large hd of the ps3, why is it we don't have custom tracks? i have no problem with those tracks, there're just not my taste(cept for dj shadow). I need my hip hop/trip hop/jazz and turntableism beats to drive too!!! come on guys wake up!
@Candlejack: well they got the exclusive car for two reasons:
1. they have over 1 million pre-orders for it
2. Formula 1 is huge in Europe
Plus, I don't think it's been announced that America ISN'T getting those cars yet.
Daiki Kasho makes some pretty amazing tracks for these games.
Justice, SebastiAn, and Kavinsky? Sweet! Going to see Justice play on Monday.
I always wanted that Gran Turismo mix of Lenny Kravitz' "Gonna Go My Way" that plays during the Gran Turismo 3 opening, but could never find it.
@Candlejack: hmm exclusive car... how would that work if europeans played against americans online..
Mars volta and Justice!!!
man, im happy :)
HOLY SHIT JUSTICE!! If you like Daft Punk you'll love Justice :)
Shadow? Justice? TMV? Weezer? god damn.
@Kyle81: why do people like "INSERT WHATEVER BAND YOU LIKE HERE"?
As a big fan of Mars Volta, I am delighted to see them on that list.
@DigiMish: Wait, you mean that different people have different tastes in music and like different bands? No way!
@Erwin: [www.myspace.com]
@YOBNAFgniliec: Believe it!
But for those who can't understand why anyone would DISLIKE Weezer, take a look at Rivers Cuomo's article in Rolling Stone from about 2 years back.
@happymedic:
Agreed, jeez i usually just turn the music off these days and put my own on.
Thank heavens for muti-channel audio systems.
O__O Ed Rec getting serious rep here. That's some bangin shit.
@YOBNAFgniliec:
I know. It's a crazy fucking world, huh?
Man, I wish they would have SebastiAn's remix of Rage Against the Machine, that track is AWESOME. Saw Daft Punk, and they played that song before hand and the roof was torn clean off of the LA Colosseum. Still, looks like a good mix of soundtracks.
and Mars Volta isn't good enough anymore to be getting this hype.
@mind in rewind: Why thank you.
@DJ-KINETIC: Haha, awesome! I skipped over Justice and Klaxons without even realizing it. I've got to read more carefully.
@onidavin: I'm a fan and I'm going to be using this description from now on. Thank you. Now to listen to some Strap-On Robo-Girl (soon to be their next album title).
@DJ-KINETIC:
Hahaha, just saw Justice at Royal Oak, Michigan last week, best damn concert I've ever been too. The entire set had so much energy it was unreal. Gotta love the giant pulsating cross and lightshow, too.
@mind in rewind:
You're in for a real fucking treat man. Have a blast, feel the music.
On the topic of GT5:P, there's some damn good music. Justice AND SebastiAn? Yes please!
-nesdude
Is it wrong that the only song I'm interested in hearing is the new version of Moon Over The Castle?
I hope we still get the cheesey Eurohotel music in the menus, because it's about the only music I hear since I turn it off in the race anyway.
@J0hnny-Kickass: word.
i can't believe that a DEMO is receiving so much publicity. just think how it's gonna be once the real GT5 is released.
dj shadow. good deal. can't have too much of him in gaming. did anyone catch the remix he did with samples from uncharted? it was sweet.
to anyone bitching about the soundtrack: it could be worse. could have been an EA TRAX affair. avril lavigne and weak emo bands for everyone.....
Mmmm, DJ Shadow.
@Seruza: Never liked the Foo Fighters, and the two bands never seemed similar to me, but I do like the first two Weezer albums. Not so much on the more recent stuff, but I don't mind it either. Didn't & won't buy their new millennium stuff like I did the early stuff.
gah...weezer and mars volta. Looks like another GT that will be played with the music muted.
Kavinisky is the real treat on there. I'm glad someone over there not only has heard of him, but loves him enough to put him on. And what with him being a Ferarri driving Zombie it makes perfect sense to be in a video game.
Does it Offend You, Yeah? is absolutely awesome and every fan of house music owes it to themselves to check them out. This is just an easy chance to do so.
Sad, no DnB.
DnB is cool, but speedcore is better IMO.
Am I the only one who hates The Mars Volta? awful band.
@pandafresh:
"Am I the only one who ____"
No, so stop with it already. Three guys up there agreed with you.
Funny though how the Mars Volta's music is in this game, but people keep asking for it in Guitar Hero/Rock Band with nothing to show for it.
Also happy to see Justice, too. Sony's pretty good when it comes to picking out music for events and games, it seems.
Just saw Justice a few nights back and they rocked the house. Some crazy DANCE remix into DVNO brought the roof down.
And am I the only person who noticed near the bottom Alloy Mental? Those guys are so totally awesome. Everyone do yourselves a favor right now and go find the song Alloy Mental (so they're not the greatest at naming their stuff...) by them. It will rock your face off!
well i'm glad to see that haha.
Wow a nice sountrack to go with the frustration of having to spend several weeks just to get your driver's license. Alloy Mental sound pretty interesting though.
DJ Shadow FTW!
Who said that the F2007 was European exclusive?
Weezer doesn't have a known song titled "Automatic", which means -- hey, new Weezer song! I hope the new album doesn't suck. Sigh.
Echoing everyone else's excitement about Justice, SebastiAn, Does It Offend You Yeah?, Klaxons, and DJ Shadow. And Goose too, if it's the same Goose that released "Bring It On"!
