But if it's bombs it sounds exactly like my high school. I can't believe how many threats it got. Tons of false tips too. Apparently someone thought my umbrella looked like a gun and that my writings were dark. Write ONE essay on how to take care of misbehaving students through violent means you get labeled a sociopath. Last year , Boston city had a bleep on the radar with a phony looking bomb created by a local artist that Aqua Teen team hired for a viral marketing.

Imagine the uproar wearing this around your neck.

@Erwin: A couple of years ago, a guy who had written some crazy threats disappeared when he ditched school to smoke some pot. People assumed he was coming to shoot up our school. I wrote an essay (privately, with my free time, for myself and friends) saying he was probably just going somewhere to smoke pot. because the school said it was a "threat" or something. I got suspended, because the school said it was a "threat" or something. After the full story came out, I never got an apology.
Later on, I wrote a controversial article for the school newspaper, and received threats against myself and family, in school. They did nothing.
...And now I'm just whining. But, my point is, School's threat assessment meters are fucked up.
And playing this game pretty much anywhere is a very stupid idea.

Lowest score should blow up a la Battle Royale. That would get people's heads in the game, lest they lose it.

Not only does this sound like a fun concept (if it might scare Homeland Security), but I loved that Micheal Bay commercial thrown in the middle. The guy has a sense of humor about himself!

@Polywhirl: I know.I thought the teacher would get the joke considering we JUST read A Modest Proposal. The fact that I was suggesting we take out the wannabe neo-Nazis through their preferred means was clearly a (half) joke. Thank goodness I never turned in my parody of an assignment that involved someone's suicide so their family could collect the insurance to service. One teacher commenting on my silence in class said "the Unabomber was quiet too." That and I've been compared to every other "introverted" murderer out there. Thank god permanent records are a load of BS.

With the world in its current state, who the hell could have thought this was a good idea? Can a person physically survive the amount of drugs it would take to get high enough to think this is even remotely a good idea? I mean people went bat shit over the Mario Kart item cubes and the Aqua Teen Hunger Force led signs, who would really think this could fly? Seriously?

How many people had to think that this was a good idea for it to get off the ground?

But, anyways, there are 6 billion people on the planet. Being optimistic, 50% of them are reasonably intelligent. That means it's really easy to get people to come together with a staggeringly stupid idea. That's how stuff like this comes around.

This is a terrible idea. If you can't figure that out yourself then I couldn't explain it to you.

Maybe if it were a wristwatch, or something that wouldn't get you held up at the airport, nay local grocery store. But it makes no sense on a law abiding side, and no sense as a social network for people who aren't loners anyway, who don't want a social network marketed towards them. Social Bomb, it's almost hilarious how true that name is.

Can't wait for the first player that finds out there are no extra men in real life.

I don't understand how this works. If everyone starts at, say, 500 and the scores average while you're next to someone,..... uh... how does anyone get points?

I'm pretty sure anyone with a decent social life probably wouldn't even consider doing something like this. No, not because it's dorky but because it just seems so worthless to do.

And why does this sound like the worst idea ever. Those that aren't really social and will either stalk the ones that are popular and so build up their rating or they will stay in the corner out of shyness and have something around their neck to remind them of their shortcomings. Not only that but the game ENCOURAGES people to ignore those that don't get right into the game and avoid them like a disease.

These guys really need to learn a thing or two, they are heading straight for the "getting shot in the face repeatedly by a 15 year old boy who plays the game every day for 8 hours" area that EA are trying to get out of with Battlefield: Heroes.

Dressing up like a suicide bomber and stalking people through the city. Sounds like the very pinnacle of tact and good judgement.

In Boston, it was the police being stupid, as the device was pretty clearly benign. That's not the case here. I have very little sympathy for those that face the inevitable police beatdown.
