Kings of Power 4 Billion % Out, Go Watch Now

Last time I'm going to spell this out: Paul Robertson's the guy who did Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight. Know him now? Yeah. Good times. Anyways, as we noted a little while back (his schedule seemed to slip a little), his latest film, Kings of Power 4 Billion %, is now out. Do be sure to give it a watch (and help his poor little site out by downloading it from one of the bigger, provided mirrors, not directly).

  • Downloading it right now. I'm excited!

  • Nice. Can't wait to watch it. :)

  • Wow, totally bizarre video. I'm downloading it now and can't wait to see the rest.

  • Wow that ended on a down note. Awesometastic animation.

  • Wish it ended more happily. Although it IS freaking epic.

Sad to see the guro loli win, though.

  • Good news is... that was awesome. Bad news is... I havnt slept for 24hrs, I'm delirious, ready to go to bed, and after just watching this I think any dreams I have could have serious effects on my well being... >.> <.<

  • That was really cool!
    (azaz.se = great mirror, 5.7 MByte/s)

  • god damn school and good grades and sleep and crap... I can't believe this flew under my radar until now though.

  • I am in Awe...

Truly epic, and it features the 4 Horsemen too!
People with epilepsy really shouldn't watch it though.

  • Looking very forward to this one!

  • Be sure to watch in a dark room to ensure MAXIMUM seizure effect.

  • Wow... well I guess I'm the only one who though the trailer was craptastic. But then what do I know... I only actually make films for a living.

  • I liked Pirate Baby Cococabana Street Fight better. I'm not entirely too sure that I got that title right. This one was a bit too guro for my taste.

    @HCKPro:

Serious? I think there could've been a much better way of you to saying that comment. (I think there could've been a much better way of me to writing a sentence, too.)

  • @HCKPro: Is there something yellow in your cornflakes?

  • @HCKPro: Beuaty is in the eye of the beholder my friend (or something to that effect)
Also remember that Ewe Boll films for a living, not putting you in the same boat as him but you see where im going with this.
OT: that was a little wierd reminded me oddly enough of Hello Kitty...

  • youtube embed doesn't work

  • Love the music in that trailer.

    Definately going to watch this.

  • @HCKPro: Yeah yeah, heard it all before, some wisacre awards himself a special position of knowledge due to self aggrandizing claims and thinks we should all afford his opinions higher respect as a result.

It don't work like that my friend, people will judge your post on its own merits, and your post came across as whiny petulance.
I hope your films are better than you internet contributions.

  • Honestly, it wasn't as good as his previous project, but definitely cool, nonetheless. The idea of having a gigantic girl dressed in winter clothing as a boss just strikes me as hilarious for some reason. Also, it's funny that Alf was one of the beings placed on the cross to form The New Ultimate Jesus. Oh, and the two kids playing Connect Four during the revive scene really caught me off-guard...hahahaha...

By the way, after seeing how the battle in the city was executed, am I the only one who thinks that the makers of this video would be the best people to do the art design for a new Valis game? Honestly, seeing the first level of Valis redone to be similar to this would be awesome. In fact, the girl-with-a-sword things just really reminds me of the Valis series, anyway.

Valis game or not, these guys really need to design a video game.

@HCKPro: Yeah, while everyone else was more polite in telling you to piss off, I have no problem telling you that none of us give a shit what you do for a living.

As has been displayed many times in the past, simply because you work on films in no-way means you know anything about them, or how to make them well.

I will now site examples like Uwe Boll and George Lucas (yes, George Lucas, who can't direct for shit since A New Hope), who both "make films for a living" but obviously don't know what a good film is.

  • what the hell's up with the Right-to-left scrolling! That on top of the seizure-tasticness is blowing my mind.

That film made no sense at all, even using all of my literary super-powers, I could barely pull much out of it. You know what that makes it?

    Sprite porn.

That's right, it's nothing but sprite porn ... I said it. Then again, there's nothing wrong with porn. So ...

I give it two thumbs up! Yeah, I don't understand it at all -- but I love it! Man, if half the games out there had the level of personality he gave those sprites ... just wow.

  • of course it's sprite porn. it's delicious epilepsy testing sprite porn.

as for the right to left scrolling, he's in Australia... I think it has something to do with the clocking on the toilets down there...

It's not really meant to be understood, jayn. It's meant to be enjoyed! And you enjoyed it, so it was successful.

Want a story? Ok...Suddenly a spaceship arrives. It dumps a whole shitload of morphing Japanese school boys across the world. The heroes take notice, and start to fight them. Simultaneously a giant naked lady sends forth hundreds of baby versions of her towards earth. The school boys are defeated only to spawn forth the Violence Kings, which kick the shit out of our heroes. One of the baby naked girls survives entry through the atmosphere and revives our heroes to fight again, only to have the Violence Kings fuse to become The Violence King. Six remaining Japanese school boys summon forth a giant cross and gather all the awesome people of the world and history include our heroes to form together into a giant combo attack called The New Ultimate Jesus, which proceeds to destroy The Violence King. The Violence King, obviously some form of spectral/non coproreal entity that could take physical form, is forced from the fused bodies of the last two Japanese school boys, who return to their normal forms after having the influence of The Violence King expunged from their bodies. With the immediate threat to Earth over, the heroes get inexplicably sucked into a dimensional vortex formed from within the severed head of a giant Japanese School Boy. On the other side lies their true enemy, the same girl who revived them to fight The Violence King, whom we learn is the King of Gods. He takes the form of a small Asian girl and attacks by maiming herself with various wounds, all of which are almost impossible to survive if he was a normal Asian girl but apparently the King of Gods is immortal. The King proceeds to kick the shit out of our heroes, who die. Their souls are then trapped inside the dream of the King of Gods forever, which I'm assuming is the world in which they travel to, to fight him.

    The End.

    See? It's not that tough.

  • the police level/scene looked like the best game ever made...then it turned out to be a movie, sigh, at least the movie was good

  • the game gaves me the urge to play Metal Slug, good job i got the wii collection copy.

    *thumbs up*

  • I can't believe that anyone would think that Pirate Baby Cabana Fight 2000whatever was better. This was better in every way, although I'd have to say I think he went in the wrong direction with the ending.

I mean, they were _already_ defeated by the Violence King, so what was the point of being defeated by "the King of All Gods"? Seems like the "King of all Gods" kind of wasted his time on that.

So a weird and nonsensical ending for a sprite-pornfest. It IS the best sprite porn I've ever seen though :)

  • ITS OVER 9000

  • Awesome. Preferred it to Pirate Baby Cabana Street Fight Battle Thingy personally. I'm not sure it tops Hyper Parsnip Bitches for me though.

  • That was all my awesome 16 bit fantasies put into 12 minutes of radness.

  • I loved it except for the ending.

  • @Stoatboy: Now that was epic! D:

  • Amazing, and totally cracked out. I approve!

  • Epic, to be sure. Full of win and good. Long cat, picard, hogan and a bunch of other frequent chantastic people on the new ultimate jesus combo. Can't help but wonder if there was a hint of symbolism in that; but it could just be the rapidly flashing lights seizure talking.

I thought Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight was a shade more.. cohesive as 'the most bad ass game I wanna play', but Kings of Power has all sorts of 'hot damn, did I just see that?' oozing out of every pore.

Srsly though. Seizure inducing. Not that I have those, but even my eyes were going a little squirrelly from the japantastic rapid flashy.

  • i loved the animations and music.
didnt understand what the crap was going on at any point in time.
didnt really like the ending either.

(SPOILER ALERT: 6-year-old cuts herself and kills the heros with her guts WTS?)

  • @Cruithne: merit nothing, people will judge him merely by how much he agrees with them.

that's how the internet works. dumbass.

  • man the more i watch this over and over... the more I like it more conceptually than pirate baby.

  • Is this a game or going to be a game? If not, someone needs to get with this guy and make this into a real game.

  • Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006 just had a more logical flow to it. It was like watching someone play through a video game. This just feels disjointed. It's definitely an amazing showcase of sprite animation, but I prefer PBCBSF2006.

  • Nice...but it really was sprite porn. All but two of the heroes were girls, and some of their animations were just pervertedly disconcerting. Like the girl with huge bouncing boobs hitting stuff with her butt, and the girl in a dress with a hat standing around with her pelvis thrust forward. I found those poses combined with their facial expressions to be irrationally sexy, and for that reason am deleting the download.

  • I hate to get all high art... but the whole folding upon itself of heroic archetypes until they implode in this really hits the existential spot. Even with the ridiculous boss battles that seemingly twist and turn upon themselves. The meaning is within the lack thereof... and all that mess. Go the New Ultimate Jesus...

but for serious... even with "Devil Eyes' its obvious Paul is trying to address things beyond the scope of the traditional video game narrative in some sort of conceptual way. I totally love it.

  • I prefer Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight. Still, this is pretty awesome.

  • @entro: I'm sorry to get all high-art in return, but it feels like it's all flash and not a lot of substance. From an aesthetic level it's impressive due to its sheer volume, but "sprite porn" is a very apt description of it.

  • WTF? No, seriously. I watched the movie (not just the trailer). Too many flashy sprites I couldn't focus in on what was happening. Yes, I did get the plot line, what there was of it. I think this needs more work. Now don't get me wrong, I think the creator has some potential, but he needs to refine his story telling a bit. I just finished watching Pirate Baby's Cabana Battle Street Fight 2006, and I have to agree that that one had more of a logical flow to it. There was a beginning, middle and end. Plus it had the feel of a 2D sprite video game. Kings of Power just seemed to be one group of screen flashes to the next.

I think this could be an interesting method of storytelling. Check out [www.machinima.com] if you want to see movies made using 3D game engines. Some of them are pretty good. I think after a few more projects the creator of this video will gain a better feel for storytelling.

  • Paul, we're not angry. We're just concerned.

  • Holy shit. That was disturbing.
