Namco Bandai is planning to bring its own cheerleading title to the Wii, trademarking We Cheer with the US Patent and Trademark Office this week and issuing a challenge to rival Wii cheering game, All-Star Cheerleading from THQ.
No word on release date or how closely it will tie into Namco Bandai's other "We" game, We Ski. We certainly hope its more in line with iNiS's Ouendan than, well, anything really. If this doesn't convince little girls with dreams of pyramid forming to start gaming, we really don't know what will.

you got to be kidding me!
@jun581: o boy...well they are attracting a different market. D:
Sounds horribly boring, and the pun is awful to boot.
I saw a Hannah Montanna game for the Wii today. The Wii is quickly becoming home to the vast majority of the worst games of all time.
I would buy the freeloader for Ouendan. Of course, Ouendan isn't about the cheering, that's just the mechanism by which you get people through their highly ridiculous problems.
@baked ham: The Hannah Montana Wii game needs one more review to be official, but it's currently averaging 64%. Not great, but far from the worst game of all time.
Oh boy!
Mii's cheerleading!? One can only hope!
Wii - killing games.
I can't wait to see the plastic peripheral! maybe an attachable pompom =P
@Torgen thinks AAA means "Costs $60": Regardless of whether that game is any good for someone who it would appeal to, the Wii is home to so much licensed schlock, bullshit, and, yes, generally ass bad shit that it is home to some of the worst games ever. Come on. I'd rather play ET on the 2600 than some of those Wii games. Not that the Wii doesn't also have some amazing games, but my god the audience that developers are making Wii games for, it's just so... not ... me. Or, from what I would assume, anybody else that frequents websites like this one. Hannah Montana got higher reviews than Turning Point: Fall of Liberty? Come on. Somehow I think I know which of those two games I'd have more fun playing.
hahahahahahahaha *breath* oh god way to go namco.
I so bet you the finished product can be described as U G L Y, you ain't got no alibi...
@baked ham: I know which of those two games I'd have more fun playing too, and it's not Turning Point.
@baked ham: surely you can see the only reason the Wii has all the crap games is because the Wii sells to the layman who doesn't read reviews, search game sites, watch trailers months in advance etc.
The PS2 had hundreds of the same shite games that plague the popular console but it also had so many gems, as does/will (hopefully) Wii. *prays*
so do you have to be a total bitch like the girls in all those cheerleader movies?
Here it is!! A 3rd party Million seller on day 1!!! Now for the Namco Cheer!
Give me a "W"
Give me a "E"
Give me a "S"
Give me a "U"
Give me a "C"
Give me a "K"
What's that spell??
YEAH!! WE SUCK!!! YEAH!! Wii Sucks!! I mean WE SUCK!!
super wii cheer next, I call for copyright name and years.
@icepick314: If there's a career mode yes.
These games HAVE to go somewhere <3
Hopefully there's also a drop out of school and become a whore mode.
ok, I don't know about a witch, but I'd totally touch a cheer leader with a stylus. Can we swing this thing like Nintendogs? Only with women? That's not degrading is it? Should I worry that I'm perverse? No. No... it's ok. I just want to poke an imaginary woman with a tiny plastic stick. That's a simple joyful thing. Get more guys into the female-dominated casual games market!
what would you feed it?
I'm surprised that it's not called Wii Cheer.
SurferGirl predicted this .... O.o
Ouendan for the wii!!! oh wait no no no its THQ and Namco Bandai publishing on the wii...nothing to see here folks
Oh no.
Hey!Well what do you know, it turns out that the restraining order even stops me coming within 100 yards of this post as well!
Hahahaha... This stuff makes me laugh. It's not the end of the world guys. Get out of the locker room and act civilized ;) Your games won't be affected by games like this.
How about a DS game where you touch busty cheerleaders?
Just an idea the Japanese may want to get on.
*insert cheerleader stereotype here*
Idol...no, Cheermaster for the Wii...?
if anything, I hope this pushes Nintendo to make Elite Beat Agents for Wii.
They actually made a remake of Bring It On?
Oh. My. God.
@Mr.SithNinja: if the game actually came with a 16yr old perky cheerleader, i would prefer it that it sucks. oh yes. it better suck good on the wii.
I nearly got a Wii at launch. It's games like this that make me so glad I got a 360 instead. God bless you Nintendo for not having enough stock to meet demand.
Selling my Wii looks like a wiser and wiser decision every day.
