Nick Larsen put together this kinda cute LEGO stop-motion film featuring Portal's end theme song Still Alive. The music video used more than 1,300 individual pictures and while it isn't quite up to snuff with some of the other videos spawned by Portal exuberance, I still think it's worth a watch. Fahey found it boring, but he has no soul.

I can't decide if thats incredibly cool or incredibly lame.
It wasn't very good.
I kind of feel bad for the guy. He must've put a lot of effort into this not-very-good video. :(
OMG PURE GOLD!!! Its the Portal Effect in works!
It was ok... but there were many many parts that could have easily been better.
For instance when he keeps repeatedly falling through the portal near the end he could have desperately grabbed the edge then slipped through, fell back down hit his head on the edge, have it pop off and sit there while the body repeatedly fell through.
Or when he fell and the portal disappeared he could have popped apart.
Is this the newest franchise for the LEGO universe???
@Morberis: i was completely expecting him to pop apart when the portal disappeared and was disappointed when it didnt happen
There was a lack of Orange portal and cake jokes are getting kinda old.
I do give the guy an A for effort though. The use of cotton as smoke was rather amusing to me.
Also, am I the only one that thought for a second that the guy was getting some rated R action with the companion cube at the end?
I'm normally have VERY little patience or tollerance for the pathetic attempts people make to try and baste themselves in the coolness of Portal (you didn't make the game, you'll never make the game and painting a picture of the Companion Cube or saying "Cake is a lie!" won't change that), but this was actually pretty good.
Aw, cute!
^"I'm nomrally have" lol. You know what I mean.
I guess i must join the souless.. this stinks.
that did blow
I thought it was very good, i lol'ed a few times... mainly because of my memories of portal...
This song started out cute and funny and now I'm just sick of hearing it. Not hating on Portal or this guy specifically (this morning his video won't load for me) but its' just... time to move on?
@HarrisonHopkins: i second that motion
I guess you don't have to play Portal to like things such as this =]
I laughed some, too ... very cute.
@Morberis: yea i thought wen he hit the bottom he was surely gunna pop apart. lol it was kinda funny tho...
It's not the best I've seen, but it was cute and I did lul a couple of times. I dunno why but that sign with 'Danger' crossed out and 'Cake' written above it just killed me.
I've never played Portal but I thought it was cute. I liked the Incinerator crossed out and Cake Inside part.
Going to have to side with Fahey on this one. It was okay, though.
My browser tries to protect my mind by crashing as soon as I try to view that page. But I still can't figure out whether it's to protect it from exploding with laughter or disintegrating from boredom.
It wasn't super great, but it wasn't like bad. Just somewhere in the middle. It has some good potential though.
@MaxS: boredom. Silly movie maked me brain broked. I find farts more entertaining and those take a lot less effort.
Meh... I think I'm Portal'ed out.
It's like the Haruhi dance. Cute at first, now it's just extremely played out.
A man who drilled a hole through a wall to spy on a hot babysitter showering as a child has a soul!!
Have any of you guys heard of AYBABTU? It's hilarious and fresh!
I liked it, especially when the poor Lego guy crawled into the incinerator thinking it was filled with 'cake' instead. How many of us have done that before?!
I haven't played Portal and haven't seen any of the vids, but Kotaku is so fanboy over Portal and TOB that maybe I have to get it (Half-Life 2 a second time would not be so bad). I liked the lego video, and the song is really funny! Maybe if you've OD'ed on Portal the vid is old hat (but did you OD on cake? I think not!).
@banmojo: Do you remember in Mortal Kombat 2, they had that mini game where you had to waggle the joystick to get a power meter up to a certain level at which point you'd karate chop a block of wood etc, but if you didn't fill it up enough, the would wouldn't break and you'd fail?
Well, to me, your comment is the equivalent of just falling short of the required threshold. Only it's not a power meter, it's a lol meter.
So, long story short, nearly made me laugh, but not quite so corner of shame for you. Don't forget the dunce cap too.
@ErskinPig: ^ the WOOD wouldn't break. Allow me to join you in the corner.
Whew! For a second or two I thought he was going to wake up in bed next to the comp cube. That would've been a confusing ending, and better than the Link's Awakening route this one took.
that was kind of stupid. Ok it was really stupid!
I liked, it was quite good. This is something I could never actually do well, I just don't have the attention span ._.
@ErskinPig: MK1 but thanks for playing
The song is still good. The video is epic fail.
@UltraMagnus: I say tomatoes, you say tomahtoes, I say MK2, you say MK1.
Needs more funny ideas.
The game and song are awesome, but these kind of things are getting tiring :(
The song was good, so were the smoke stacks. But overall I just didn't get into it that much. I'd have to say it didn't capture the essence of Portal as much as I would have liked. And, eh, I didn't like the transition effects at all.
wow, you people are either heartless or have no appreciation for this guy's work. I enjoyed the film. Plot wise it was ok, but animation wise, it was stunning. I tried making a stop animation video once and it came out like $hit. I didn't even finish it. But this is some really good stuff on the technical point of view. Besides, this is his portfolio, and from an artist such as myself, he has a good strength in cinematography.
I have to agree with Fahey. Boring. I love animation, but all the animation in the world won't save a boring plot, or unfunny jokes.
Animation: B+
Story: D
I wanted to say "this was a triumph". Really I did. Ah well, it was a good attempt at any rate, but no where near the VGCats version.
I would've preferred if it was synced up with the music. It's ok.
I can't say it's awesome, but it's definitely very well made, and cute enough. 4 stars. :D
