With just a few days to go until its release, we are already getting some bonus content for Rainbow Six Vegas 2. GameInvasion is hosting a special "Comcast Event Map" that can be downloaded from their site as soon as the game hits your PS3 or 360. No word on exactly what the map will contain, but I have to admit, the title has me scratching my head. "Comcast Event Map" dredges up some strange thoughts involving dicey connections, rude customer service and an On-Demand system that only works about 40% of the time. Let's hope this map involves none of these.
You can get complete instructions on how to load up this special map her on the GameInvasion website.

What?
I wanna say yea for comcast. But I truly know better.
One of those advertisements that I really don't get. Does anybody really "Choose" Comcast? If you have it, then it's because that's your default option, the service you get when you don't actually pick.
We all know how great Comcast is.
Listen to Mona Shaw: [gizmodo.com]
Maybe they will add the option of a hammer as a weapon
I don't feel like clicking that link, what is this all about?
If it is an easy way to get a new multiplayer map i'm down, other than that, whatever.
Ugh. In game advertising at is worst?
Is this the MLG/Comcast map Gamestop is supposed to have exclusive with pre-order?
I think this map takes place in a convention center where an MLG event is setup. GameStop's been talking about an exclusive "Comcast Optimized MLG map" that is available when you preorder there, with the instructions on how to unlock included in the game. I'd imagine this Comcast Game Invasion is another way to get that map.
Its probably some ridiculous level where you battle on a giant comcast remote control. I hate giant companies......they really lose sight of the whole point of things
Is this some sort of trojan horse to throttle Xbox live download speeds?
This map is going to be overflowing with advertisements. Hell the map might take place in a Comcast building!
The term "in game advertising" will never be the same again...
People think Comcast is bad, but has anyone been forced to go with Broadstripe?
Ugh...
I fail to see what's so bad about this. If the advertising allowed Ubisoft to make another multiplayer map, great. If you don't want to play in a map that might have advertisements, then don't play in it.
I mean, really, this seems like a no-lose situation for Vegas 2 owners.
"...dicey connections, rude customer service and an On-Demand system that only works about 40% of the time."
Wow, I couldn't have put it better, myself. I loved the representative's response to my cancellation the one day, "Comcast's Internet service is the same thing as Verizon FiOS." Oh, really? Considering the fact that my FiOS connection doesn't drop out for hours at a time at least once a week, I somehow find that hard to believe.
F Comcast
That is all
Wonder if this is downloadble in Canada. I don't think Com cast is available up here. (Definitely not complaining that they aren't though, Ive read a ton of bad things about them)
There are far worse styles of in-game advertising. At least it is a free map.
confused, very confused
I can see it now; storming the Comcast office building and clearing the area of hostiles. What hostiles you say? Comcast employees ;)
@RedHotFunk:
isn't saying something like that:
#1 mean...
#2 not legal, or a threat?
Comcast isn't as bad as Cox. I don't want to hear complaints until you know what it's like to have a HD service that doesn't even cover all the networks.
I cannot wait for the Axe Bodyspray map. Or the Mountain Dew sniper rifle.
Either way, this game will rock.
I think this has something to to with MJG and Comcast showing MLG Game matches. This is a good thing.
actually the customer service reps i've dealt with were okay, and my on demand works. when i first got comcast years ago though, i will say the connection sucked ass (used to drop constantly) but its been okay. the DL speed is great, but my upload is kinda weak. Tip of Life: Have lots of patients and treat your customer service people like small children and will most likely get what you need outta em.
Fuck Comcast. Basic broadband internet, Digital Cable with HD Package and DVR = $140 a month. Comcast has a few "booths" in the actual game (the convention center level)... good times
@kubevubin:
oh how i envy you i want fios but theyre not in chicago yet =(
The game takes place in vegas, mecca of assaulting on the senses with branding and advertising and you are upset about an advertising themed map. That is the funny part.
@Collapse The Control: Choose an option from the in-game 'Extras' menu, enter code ("Comcast faster", naturally), download map.
They probably charge you monthly to use the map. Fuckers.
@penetraitor:
excellent point...
as long as the map is free, it's mine...
I'm buying this game as soon as I complete my stupid research paper for Sociology. I know if I get the game before that, I'll never complete the paper.
Hopefully the map involves workign your way into the Comcast Headquarters via a chopper drop.. the goal being to take out the OBVIOUSLY evil Comcast executives.
let's hope for the map to be a blueprint to their offices.
I HATE tom clancy and everything he puts his name on (excluding splinter cell). It's all the same damn game!
@Lono: That's strange. I've never had any problems when I had Cox for my internet service. Their connection was blazing fast, and not once did I have to call customer service. Comcast on the other hand.......their customer service is very nice, but the feed I get from them is ridiculously spotty. It took over 2 months of on-site maintenance to get it stable? Come on!
If this ends up being a map of a comcast building...I can see C4 being used quite liberally.
And GOD help them if they make it a hostage situation, who would want to save those poor little bastards?
Lmao. Please dear God let it have hostages and let the hostages be comcast customer support employees. Teams would just take turns killing them. Awesome.
I'm guessing the map will force you to unplug your 360 for 20 minutes, and when you plug it back in, every tab on the dashboard will say "To Be Announced" for 4 hours.
I've got the game and yes it is a MLG/Convention style setup. Two larger rooms with multiple floors and many side corridors.
If you go to the Extra's Menu after unlocking this map you can go to the "Exclusive Content" option and download "Streets" for free once your account is logged with Ubi.
Also if you've played Vegas you'll get 1250 XP and a hat as you enter the menu system for the 1st time.
Ahh, the best part about this map is when you get to playing and it cuts off right in the middle of a match. Then when you hit A to call customer service you get to listen to an extremely long recording of how all the maps in your area are out for no apparent reason at all. When will the maps come back on? ETA: NEVAR!
@LittlestLamshi:
needs to learn to take a joke
One of the greatest days of my life was telling Comcast I have switched to Verizon Fios.
Fios DESTROYS Comcast in HD picture quality and Internet. I can now download 3 demos in the time it took to get 80% of one.
Comcast you suck!
