Today I spent a good chunk of the day on the phone for various stuff: Book stuff, magazine stuff, just stuff. Actually, I really *hate* the telephone and prefer email. Think Andy Warhol said something about the telephone was the most intimate of all mediums. He apparently adored calling people on the phone. This was, of course, between the e-mail boom. I do like talking to my parents on the phone, and yes, sometimes it's nice to talk to friends or people you know. And yes, even today, talking with those folks on the phone was probably good. But if I could, I'd prefer to avoid it!
