Previously, we've brought word of the risky Haruhi Suzumiya adult parody flick. But how do those stack up with the animated versions and the various manga incarnations? Or even the characters' voice actors? NOT SO GOOD. Check out these charts that show the characters' voice actors (seiyuu), various artists interpretations including the anime and ending up with the TMA dirty movie actors and actresses. Hit the jump to look at the fugly dude porn actors.
Interesting to note: The Mizuno Makoto manga was so despised by fans that it's not even considered part of the Haruhi canon.

You know, the Haruhi one is the only one that even looks remotely similar to the anime and manga.
Though I can totally see the similarity between blank at the end.
WTH? Did I miss something, cause this just seemed random?
How many different mangaka worked on Haruhi? I don't know anything about the origin of it, only that I loved the show.
So were those fans anti-DMC2 existance as well?
At least they left the kid sister out of the porn.
I don't care what anyone says, that Nagato is hot.
Was the Mokoto story really bad? Or did they not like the artwork? Because I think that the artwork from Makoto is the best looking stuff there.
So why was it despised? Just wondering.
The fans are just the beginning; Kadokawa even disowned the original manga. The second manga came after Kyoto Animation's famous anime adaptation, so it was able to ride on the popularity a bit.
Also, gotta love Minoru Shiraishi (first seiyuu of the second image) dressing up as a girl for that picture. He's such an oddball, he even does a bunch of live-action parody videos for a good half of the endings of other Kotaku-favourite-KyoAni-production Lucky Star.
dear god. did they use a reference sheet while selecting peopleor just pull random people off the train to work.
@Polywhirl: I'm presuming because the art is unbelievably shit. Jesus Christ, what is wrong with your eyes? No grasp of anatomy or proportions at all! Downright sickening looking.
Still looks better than most of the living people, sadly.
@Polywhirl: Ugh, I got sniped by this comment so I'll have to post soon after my last.
Anyway, it was mostly the storyline (as I said before, it was disowned by Kadokawa, but it was also canceled after the first volume hit the stands.) Basically, it wasn't "the same" and had no input from the original creator.
On the other hand, Kyoto Animation's adaptation even had an original episode created by the original author exclusively for that adaptation, so you know they were really doing the right things.
As far as art is concerned, Ito Noizi is the artist of the original novels' inserts and title pages, Mizuno Makoto is responsible for the first manga, and Tsugano Gaku is the artist of the second manga.
You know why its not considered canon?
*spits on Mizuno Makoto manga*
Its blasphemous that's why!
Haruhi Banzai!!!!!!
*collapse from caffine overdose/allnighter*
I presonally like Noizi and KyoAni's versions the best. The TMA looks pretty bad IMO.
The Kotaku staff needs to watch more anime.
All they talk about is Haruhi and that's pretty funny.
Taniguchiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!!!!
Yuki rocks, too. Wish I could remember where I saw that drawing someone made of her replacing Altair as the Assassin in Assassin's Creed.
I like Noizi Ito's character designs best, and the only actor from TMA that even somewhat resembled their part was the person who plays Haruhi. Asakura Ryoko's actor looks like a guy, I lol'd.
@pinoy78:
If you haven't noticed, this is being put up by Bash. He IS Japan. Obviously he's been able to sift out every anime and has come to the conclusion that Haruhi is #1. Lucky Star is probably the second most mentioned anime on this site.
Betta recognize!
(PS. can anyone tell me what that last line means? I hear it a lot but I'm not sure when I'm supposed to use it.)
Well, for one, Mizuno Makoto's manga adaptation of Haruhi Suzumiya was just, well, plain terrible, artwork-wise at LEAST..Noizi Ito's designs fit the characters best.
But IMO, KyoAni hands down for best design, top-notch animation right there.
p.s: Asakura's TMA actress DOES look like a guy.....
I'm so glad I never read the first manga adaptation, or I would never gotten into the series. Yup, Asakura's TMA actress resembles a guy sadly.
What no comments on Ereotto, do none of you enjoy cheese, *walks away slowly*
On Wikipedia, it says that Mizuno Makoto's manga may have been discontinued because he was doing a Haruhi doujin on the side as well (obviously without Kadokawa's permission).
Nyoro~n.
Hahahaha that photo of Minoru Shiraishi is awesome :D Love him <3
OMG the guy in the lower left corner is taking off his pants @_@
@Byakko:
I meant lower right corner on the second image but gawd do you really want to see a part of the hentai action in progress @_____@!?
why do people love this series so much? i watched the first episode and was completely uninterested. musta missed something...
heh, not the most flattering pics of Haruhi, Yuki and Mikuru's seiyuus, now are they?
You forgot rule 63 versions. Kyonko kawaii. *hangs head in shame*
you gotta tell me, bash. i asked this before, but do you really mean to say that this is "risky" and not "risque"? say yes, and i'll leave it alone despite my lack of understanding of the maximum risky tag.
risky
: attended with risk or danger : hazardous
ris·qué
: verging on impropriety or indecency : off-color
@pandafresh:
That's the problem. keep watching.
And I've actually read Mizuno Makoto's manga, and it wasn't half-bad.
@dunetiger : apples are red:
First was the light novel with art by Noizi Ito, then the first manga by Mizuno Makoto (that lasted for a volume). When the anime started, a second manga was made drawn by Tsuganogaku. As for Eretto, he's the doujin artist who makes those popular Churuya/Nyoro~n comics.
my bad, wrong place to mention what i said before. i just assumed with the focus being on a porn parody that this would be a post for the MR category.
@Channing: Unless you're trying to assert your gang's superiority over others that have encroached in your turf, I'd say never.
I still don't know how Eretto became so popular.
...you know, besides "Nyoro~n"
The TMA ones look down right fugly.
@pandafresh: Honestly, it's a neat series when watched in its original broadcast order (read: out of sequence), but beyond that the series isn't that great. I don't understand why people treat the series like the second coming of animation. It's fun but certainly not something with any lasting value.
TMA Kyon is SOOO SCARY!
@pandafresh: You missed all of the other episodes ;) The first episode is completely different from the rest. Having said that, i'm not a big fan of it as everyone else seems to be, but it was enjoyable to watch.
The Haruhi novels are great, especially after watching the series.
@pandafresh: To 'understand' the first episode you need to watch the rest, only then will it make even the slightest bit of sense.
What's the deal with Aya Hirano's pic? I've seen her look much more schmexy.
No TMA version of Kyon's little sister?
Argh, no, I didn't mean it this way!
