Europe, whenever you finally get Rock Band, you're going to think it's worth the wait. Oh, I haven't touched it in weeks, but when I did have the time to play things like Rock Band, it was just fantastic. Fortunately, EA and Harmonix are throwing you a bone in the form of some Europe-only jams, possibly as an apology for the long, long wait. A batch of EU-only songs was revealed at this weekend's Play.com LIVE fest, including things like Blur's "Beetlebum", Muse's "Hysteria", Die Toten Hosen's "Hier Kommt Alex" and Indochine's "L'Aventurier."
Maybe, when keyboard support is added in Rock Band 2 with an awesome keytar controller, we'll finally get a playable version of Europe's "The Final Countdown." Until then, this'll have to do.

One good song
Muse "Hysteria"
Well glad it was worth the wait y'know
Why the fuck is Muse "Europe-Only"?!
That's some ol' bullshit.
Good thing I don't have Rock Band so I'm not disappointed that I can't download these songs.
Not all of these are exclusive to the EU version. Hysteria is, for sure, coming to the US. I see no reason why the other Oasis song and the Blur song wouldn't come out here either.
Man, I hope there will be some way for us in the US to get that Muse song. I'd love to jam out to it.
As much as I was looking forward to a Blur song, Beetlebum wasn't exactly best suited to the game. Oh well, I still hope the U.S. gets it.
Muse + Blur = Heaven
I just want to know if I can download extra tracks on my US 360, which is here in the UK, which has the US Rock Band (due to crummy EA region locking), which won't allow access to downloadable content in the UK.
I really want extra songs, no matter how much I love the Electric Version.
Plus, I now want Rock n' Roll Star...
because muse are a british band.
this is cool, they're thinking about europe. but it would only be fair to extend it to the rest of the world in good time.
but for now keeping it europe... all i really need is to have a few hundred quid spare, 4 extra friends and a whole load more free time... wahay.
wait a minute... when the hell IS rock band coming out here?!
The whole reason I bought Rock Band was for Beetlebum. Please release it as DLC for the US.
This makes sense. When a friend of mine from England visited and played Rock Band, he didn't know a pretty large chunk of the music. I always thought that part of the reason there was a delay between North American and foreign versions of the game had to do with Harmonix/MTV wanting to localize playlists.
Now, I like a lot of British bands. So I hope some of the Euro stuff is available for download here in the U.S. I'd love to rock out to some Gang of Four, New Order, Stone Roses or "There She Goes" by the La's.
ive been saying for so long that the final countdown should come to rockband lol thats kinda funny that its mentioned on kotaku. great minds eh?
they should release the game now instead of thinking about custom tracks per country or region.
its damn annoying to wait so long,and yes,its stupid that tracks for games ike this are region specific.roll tit out with the standard set and make the rest downloadable,done.
Oh man. I would LOVE it if Die Toten Hosen were released for the US Rock Band as DLC.
I've been thinking about buying it for months now, but have held off because I just moved to a new city and don't know anyone. Being able to jam on Hier Kommt Alex would probably convince me to buy, though. Love that song.
(Not being sarcastic at all, really mean it.)
@Dirk Dorkelson:
"Now, I like a lot of British bands. So I hope some of the Euro stuff is available for download here in the U.S. I'd love to rock out to some Gang of Four, New Order, Stone Roses or "There She Goes" by the La's."
Hell yeah, dude!
@Mr. Chip:
Hier Kommt Alex is in Guitar Hero III's normal playlist, not DLC.
good thing the PS3 users can simply make a EU account and dl the songs once they become available... whenever the hell that will be.
Muse being Europe only is straight up bull.
They're one of my favorite bands.
From the article is just sounds like those are extra tracks being included in the European version of the game which means it's entirely possible and likely that the US will get those songs. The 4 English ones anyway. Especially since all 4 of those were on the leaked list.
Would you people read the other comments? I already stated (and by the way, this is backed up by a Harmonix employee), that some of these (Hysteria, Beetlebum, the Oasis song) are NOT EU only.
They'll hit the US in due time.
NOOOO!
NO NO NO
Muse better be DLC for the US.
As said before, bullshit.
Everyone here in the US disappointed by Muse not being released here (myself included) needs to head on over to the Rock Band boards and make your voice heard.
Get movin! :)
No actual Europe? DAMNIT. FINAL COUNTDOWN NOW! Grrr.
@number9:
Look at the comment two up from yours.
THE SONGS THAT ARE IN ENGLISH ARE COMING TO THE US.
Since these songs are on the Yuropean's disc, I imagine us Americans will get them as DLC.
Exclusive Muse for europe! Woo!
GET IT UP YA, YA YANKS!
I apologise for my atrocious behaviour but I've been waiting for this game for ages and muse is the cherry on the cake.
@EggmaniMN: Agreed, although I can understand how seeing "EU-only" and Muse in the same sentence can cause mass panic.
All of those English songs were on that leaked DLC list, which has proven correct so far. I'm just pumped that Hysteria turned out to be Muse and not Def Leppard.
I really see no point of making any songs region exclusive
And allow me to add some more sanity to this. This is not- I repeat *not*- verified by anyone official. The 'exclusive' phrase is never explained. All we can say for sure is these songs will come to Europe. Everything else is speculation and causing a lot of needless fighting.
And all the typos don't make me feel too great about it, either.
i know a mormon boy who is going to be very dissapointed.
i give it a month after release before these "exclusive" tracks go on the marketplace. which im really hoping for.... lol
@mywhitenoise: Bad choice, buying a $170 game for one song.
@Madhotdog: Your opinion != whether or not a song is good.
I like at least 3 out of the 4 tracks, I don't know Indochine so I can't comment on that one.
Beetlebum FTW.
What the fuck?
Muse being Europe only?
BLASPHEMY.
We could have Laibach's cover of the final countdown!
+ Watch video
oh my god! you have no idea how loud i screamed "what?!" when i saw muse was europe only! THATS TOTAL BULLSHIT
Hope this songs come to Us.Ive been buying DLC every week, if it doesnt come to US that would be a slap in the face.Becuase i love me some muse >:|
Well, guess I need to start trying to get a job at Harmonix so I can have these tracks too....
Any idea on a UK release date and price for the actual game yet?
Less Beatlebum, more Song 2
Meh still no Queen.
What the hell? EUROPE ONLY? Are you kidding me? They finally put god damned Blur and Muse songs in the game and they're Europe only?
Which part of the words "european exclusive songs" don't some of you people understand? I mean, personally, I took it to mean that it was only for europe and not to other parts of the world, but what do I know?
I'm not liking this regional exclusive content. Almost all of my favorite bands are European. I would cry if Rhapsody of Fire tracks came out exclusive to Europe.
@Shevin: F'real. "Hysteria" is amazing.
My buddy's band covers it. He taught me the bassline. I'm no slouch, but it's freakin' hard.
@RonCey: WELL FUCK THEM. I just ordered H.a.a.r.p. from Tower Records and yes I ordered the UK ONLY special edition, I'll just play along with Matt :P I saw them in concert 4 times last year... I can't wait till they do another tour. I WILL GO TO WEMBLEY SOME DAY...
Stupid Europe and their awesome Muse and Hysteria and whatnot. Oh well, it could be worse. At least it's not "Glorious" or... "Micro Cuts" (that would be a BITCH to sing, but still awesome).
@Lemming To The Sea:
I bought it for more than one song (Radiohead, Weezer, NIN, QOTSA, Oasis, David Bowie, Smashing Pumpkins, Rolling Stones, Pixies, The Who, and Faith No More)....Blur was just the cherry on top.
I was about to get really upset about this, but did some research and found this thread on the official RB boards. Check the last post (it's closed).

It should still be considered an 'unconfirmed rumor'.
ya I would love to get my hands on that muse song.
