Regular Wii just a bit too vanilla for you? Perhaps you ought to have won Nintendo's Super Smash Bros. Brawl tournament! Of course, if you suck at Brawl and think a Wii decked out with 20,000 Swarovski crystals is very much "your thing," you could possibly just grab one from Crystal Icing, maker of all things crystallized. They're not currently selling them, but I'm sure if you got them on the phone and asked them to charge four grand to your credit card, something could be worked out.

I rather spend 250 on a regular wii. There is no way that is worth $4000
I definitely don't want one ... however, it's a really, really good job. Mario looks fantastic!
2 words:
bling bling.
@CookieMasterPunk: i agree...however, i bet someone would pay for this.
@jun581: such is the magic of Ebay
@jayntampa: I hate to admit it, but I agree -- it is a damn good job. I just can't imagine that someone who would buy this would actually use it.
@jun581: I agree, i bet someone would.
won't be me though.
Even if it was for the same price as a regular Wii I would still go for the regular. Although I'll admit it's pretty well done I think it looks hideous.
@CookieMasterPunk:
I'd rather just not waste my money at all.
@MisterSleep: I'd buy it then peel off the diamonds one by one and put them on a cake.
Bugger, I'm dreaming again.
The bling factor alone makes the Rozen Maiden DS and PS3 look much more appealing... although these are rather well done, I'd prefer Pixel art.
If an xbox 360 ever got adorned with crystals and got sent in for repairs, is it gonna received the patented "Scrub it free of everything" service?
Yeah as far as horrible diamond/crystal case mods go, this ones not too bad.
@Majorasblaze likes to dance dance dance yeah: That is the most horrible misuse of cake I have ever read. Which variety of delectable confectionery were you planning to defile?
Oh yeah, cute mods. Had four seconds or so there where I considered the impulse buy to end all impulse buys. Twas not to be.
@Starplate: They might spare it if the Red Ring of Death looks good in crystal... just don't add a crystal motherboard - that voids your warranty.
i can't tell if it looks good or it looks REALLY TACKY...
@CookieMasterPunk: Google Swarovski if you dont know. It's probably worth that much.
@Pata-pwn(TM?): Thanks for coming!
And those things are just fugly. I could shit in a box and it'd look better.
That's under NINE THOUSAAAAAAAAAAAND!!
I'm... so sorry.
It is however, well above that on my Despicable Sense of Taste-ometer. Kudos.
Ya know, I would've totally had won the brawl tourny in my area...and then I would've totally gave it to someone else because I don't want that...
...who am I kidding?...I'd totally want that to sell on ebay...
i think it looks pretty good. But I am nowhere near rich enough to afford it.
If you sent it in for repair would it come back with all the crystals removed?
It would be ironic if Brawl couldn't run on one of these babies.
My grandmother used to make things like that, and jesus it takes some serious skill + steady hands.
It has my vote as being cool.
*applauds*
Does anyone know the link(s) to the final rounds with the regional champions?
I was originally going to comment that the only word for that is fugly, but there is also, gaudy.
@sanyo: You can see the list of winners at the smash page on nintendo.com.
@stickfodder: Maybe if Wiis were made by Microsoft
I dunno, this is a really good job. Though face it, not one of the commenters here have the kind of disposable income to consider this, so the bias will fall on snubbing it instead. But it's a realy cool design.
@zymase: How about tacky?
I realize someone did a lot of hard work, but this is still another case of "just b/c you can doesn't mean you should."
Wow, this is pretty.
A lot of people are like "I could eat a toaster and it would look better than this!" Need I remind you of that "custom" DS? The one where someone just kinda scratched Rozen Maiden on it. That was bad.
I think this looks pretty good. The shading looks awesome and god knows that this is a million times better than something I could draw.
Cool but man that is mad expensive. I sure wish it were less than maybe 100 bucks but 4000 now that is way too much.
ill just go make my own. not that hard just time consuming
Pick some transparent, crystal looking plastic pieces in various colors and DIY! It'll look almost the same thing, and'll spend less than 50 Bucks.
If Liberace owned a Wii, this would be it.
Would the Wii-mote encrusted with crystals slice up your hand though =/?
I would buy the hell out of that Wii. Oh..and I wouldnt stop there, I'd pimp that baby out with 20" rims and put a mini plasma TV on the side...OH! and then I would add nitrous(sp)...just to give it that little kick.
F'IN GOLD MINE! Nintendo should be watching this...
SO HOT
No. Vulgar, horrid.
Was "CrystalIcing.com" always plastered across those pictures? I don't remember seeing that before. Did Kotaku change those pictures for legal reasons? Maybe it was there and I was just too distracted by how gaudy those Wiis are.
Don't like it myself. I like my consoles to look original. Yeah, I put stickers on my original Playstation... but I was in high school, it should be forgiven.
DAAAAAYUMN. That's a lot of bling. I don't usually like anything "iced out", but that's pretty creative right there. Too bad all the money used to decorate those consoles could have gone to...purchasing more consoles.
DO WANT.
It looks awesome but I'd rather fiddle around with a 250 dollar Wii and some 10 dollar plastic thingies to make it look like that and mess up twice than lay down 4k for the real deal...though it would probably sparkle more :x
haha totally. it looks pretty sweet, but i actually like my plain Wii a lot better. $4000 is ridiculous, celebrity Wii haha.
It's obviously aimed at the Persian market (see South Park, D'yikes episode)
@CookieMasterPunk: I think you're one of the few who would rather spend $250 on one, otherwise there wouldn't be hundreds on ebay selling for $400+.
what a waste
Mario and Koopa look pretty nice
But to me the overall feel of the thing is hideous...
>>>I rather spend 250 on a regular wii. There is no way that is worth $4000
See, I was gonna say - I'd settle for finding a wii with less than $100 scalper markup on eBay...
I'd be pretty pissed when the crystals started falling off.
At least, that's always what happened when I tried to do those things as a little girl.
This is pretty easy to do i imagine. Definately NOT worth $4000.
Let's see one done in a LEGO Star Wars, Batman, or Indiana Jones theme. Preferably LEGO Batman...
I'd hate to say it, but those Wii's remind me of Windows 95... in safe mode...
hell, you could buy a wii, all the games, internet service, a case of beer, and even a a friend or two.
Looks nice but too flashy for my tastes.
@rob2112: I lol'd.
They look like they were made from those little dotted sprinkles people put on sundaes. Yum.
I'd be afraid to use it. I think I'll just let my Wii stay the way it is.
Very good looking though, I must say.
Nowadays it IS if you can, you should.
Some people like it, some people don't (SHOCK)
If you don't like it, don't buy it.
Value is as much as market dictates.
Using swarovski crystals.
You CAN use plastic beads, if you want to, go ahead.
Damn it- I used my tax return to buy one for my bf. Now he says he doesn't want one?!?! They had better accept returns. ;-)
It does look nice. I can buy the stuff to do it myself. Make y'all a deal- I'll bedazzle a Wii for you, and sell it for only $3995.00. You know, that Kotaku discount and all. I'll even be nice enough to throw in free shipping.
Any takers?
