Bandai Namco has released screens of upcoming Xbox LIVE Arcade title Mr. Driller Online. The game features single player and multiplayer drilling modes that include tag team multiplayer. The game has "Standard Driller" with stages divided into 100m sections by large blocks and "Quest Driller" with, well, quests. Nice to see Bandai Namco bring Mr. Driller online. Really nice.

This sounds totally kickass. I loves me some drill.
Is this game like Dig Dug?
Its evil. But I found it through Apache's website. I'll throw their name www.ve3d.com , they could use the traffic.
Nicely done. Still got the PS1 version somewhere, might get it out tongiht in celebration.
Pretty awesome that I lack the hand-eye coordination to post in the wrong feature.
Strangely reminds me of Puyo Puyo
Oh Jesus! What in the hell are they trying to do to me? They know I can't take it... I never got the DC version because I knew I'd be in troube, but that was easy. Now you tell me it'll be a small $10 purchase away? Crap! There goes what little life I had left.
@Fenris Wolf: Kind of. The series was sort of a sequel/spin-off in the first place, as it was going to be Dig Dug 3. The main character of Mr. Driller is the son of the main character of Dig Dug.
Basically, instead of digging around a specific screen trying to reach enemies and blow them up, you're constantly digging downwards trying to survive or reach the end of the tunnel. Blocks will fall if they have no support and crush you (not unlike the rocks in Dig Dug, but with a satisfying delay so you can drill away,) and connected blocks will all be drilled through at once, so there's a lot of strategy in making your way down the level.
The levels are nice and long without getting frustrating and it's easily the most addictive puzzle/platformer I've ever played.
I was going to bitch that it was only 2player multi again, since there was only two split screens.
So, now, when are they releasing this thing? And when's the Yukiho DLC coming out?
@Fenris Wolf: More like Dig Dug Jr., but found out his Mom had an affair with a Tetris block. I think it's the L shape, but that Z's a bit of a whore.
Wait, am I the only one who got something sexual out of Mr. Driller? You guys disappoint me.
@NotAZombie: I think I've discovered my pornstar name
@NotAZombie: That joke was made ages ago.
Meesta Dreela! Aireee! With this and American Idol Karaoke Revolution my wife will be online more than me.
This will be a must buy for me if it also has the brilliant music from the Japanese Gamecube version.
Dig Dug for stoners!
I'm buying it. The rush-job American DS version was slightly disappointing, but the improved multiplayer focus here will not fail to please.
I can't wait for this, it had to be one of the best pick-up and play titles for the Dreamcast... So much time waisted on this... though I fear more time will be lost to it..
Yay~ If I'm forced to buy a 360 one of these days, I'll be really happy to have this game to play! I adore Mr. Driller! The screens look amazing too!
Man this game is awesome... why can't this be on the PSN? Why???
Do you really have to ask?
Awesome != PSN
Sorry.
Mr. Driller....
Huh hu huhuh Huh.....
@Fenris Wolf: sort of and actually in story line ( I know a puzzle game with a story?) this is supposed to be the main char from dig dugs son.
I loved Mr. Driller on the Dreamcast. This looks great and might be worth a look if I ever get a 360.
bought!
Awesome, I had a blast with that game on Dreamcast.
Had this game on my Sega Dreamcast. Loved the title announcement.
Now Where's Chu Chu Rocket! (I know Sega makes it, not Namco)
More proof that 360 = DC2 (that's supposed to be a good thing.)
I want my Shenmue 3, please.
DC2??? Please. It's more like the anti-DC.
Would it be too much to hold out hope that this game makes it to Wii-ware as well? It'd fit right in with the Tetris, Dr. Mario, and Bomberman titles that have already been announced...
Woo! Let's hope they include the microphone support from the Dreamcast version!
It's a bit of an obscurity, but the DC version actually supported the Seaman microphone. It was pretty funny to watch someone sit there and repeat "Drill. Drill. Drill." over and over.
