This is not news. I repeat, NOT NEWS. Still, it's a pretty great pic. Here, we get a real life look at Down + Fierce Punch (in the air). Somehow, this pic so makes me want to watch Master of the Flying Guillotine again.

I lol'd pretty good.
i dont even know what to say...or to think for that matter
Damn, that must have hurt. I can't help but chuckle though. Takes talent I guess...
That was great. XD
Face meet field. Field meet face. Now what are you two gonna talk about?
This picture has so much potential it isn't even funny.
That must suck...
How in the world would this happen? Im concerned for the Faktury Vat.
With all that stretching he must be a bad ass soccer player. Not to mention the fire breathing...
Pfft... If he can pull off a Yoga Fire/Flame or Yoga Teleport, then you'll have my attention.
Old. That's one of the "You're doing it wrong" memes.
Still funny.
That looks extremely painful...
this is great lmfao! i cant help but crack up here
Extreme Win.
Wait...Bashcraft said this is not news...by Kotakuan decree, Bashcraft should be banned...yet Bashcraft weilds a banhammer...my world...shattered!
*Goes to the corner and cries.*
@Neo_Deus: I think this is one of those do as I say not as I do situations
To add insult to injury, he clearly missed his opponent.
Hahahahahah!!! Great pic + caption!
Comedy aside, this looks excrutiatingly painful. And, how does this happen in a game of soccer?!?
*waits for "This is news how?"*
@AnthraxJunkie: Naaa I don't think anyone has the brass balls to say that in this thread. Well at least say it seriously.
like older than the internet itself....still amusing if you haven't seen this yet x]
LOL'd, never saw it before.
Now that it's here, I give it 1 week before 5-20 animated gifs of it appear on 4chan(and I approve).
Aight, I admit it. I lol'd good and hard.
But this IS news.
In other news, I can't sleep.
Why did it have to be made in the (un)inspirational poster style?
Do I see some Photoshop blending there, or is that just the picture quality?
@Neo_Deus:
Oh fuck, dude. You're making my head hurt. :/
I think they are called Demotivators.
(in the air) is key.
Still a great lol moment.
@Naif: I haven't. That's as pretty funny pic.
Looks more like down+forward
I suddenly understand the meaning of those "Don't try this at home" disclaimers. Maybe they should have added that football fields were no good, either.

"This is not news. I repeat, NOT NEWS."
You'd think this would be enough to stave off the "old news" comments. Clearly, it isn't.
All I can say is WOW
What an odd way to play soccer.
haha, my first genuine laugh of the week. woulda been even funnier if he actually hit someone doing that.
@Bashcraft said: Somehow, this pic so makes me want to watch Master of the Flying Guillotine again.
Shouldn't you always want to watch Master of the Flying Guillotine again, pic or no pic?
oh man,brilliant
Egad. Did he survive?
Wow, that is fucking amazing!
I love Master of the Flying Guillotine. Great movie. You can tell there was definately some inspriration for street fighter in the movie.
LMFAO! that was a great treat for the morning. xD
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
In defense of the people who make the "this is not news" comments, has anyone ever read the masthead? It says "Gossip, news and leaks for obsessive gamers". So yeah, this claims to be a news site, then bans people who are confused to be reading about writer's wives and kids and Japan in half the posts. Why don't you guys either fix your masthead or set up a list of commenting rules?
How does one fall like that while playing soccer?
@Player3: You think half these people know what 'masthead' means in the context of publications?
@Phunk: You don't have to know what it's called to read it. Anyone new to the site might see it and say "oh, this is a news site". That's what it's there for. That comment was primarily directed towards the writers.
@Phunk: As a matter of fact, most new visitors probably do see it and that's why there are so many "is this news?" comments. I'm just saying, don't call yourselves a news site then get pissed at your visitors for asking why there's so much not news.
@Player3:
If sites says gossip, news and leaks then shouldn't people expect non-news items to appear? 2/3 of the suggested content of the site is non-news related right?
LOL it's the simple things like that pic that will make my day that much more awesome.
If the site says ^
@yomachaser: That depends. Would you expect gossip and leaks for obsessive gamers to be about White Day? I would expect it to be about games. That's certainly what it implies.
@yomachaser: And why would there be a "not news" disclaimer on this post if 2/3 is supposed to be not news? This is much more relevant to gaming than the other stuff I'm talking about.
hahhahahaahha! ahhh...
@Player3:
I think he put the not news disclaimer on this post because of the way some people react to any post on here that isn't news related.
Also to answer your other post
That depends. Would you expect gossip and leaks for obsessive gamers to be about White Day? I would expect it to be about games. That's certainly what it implies.
All the site implies at first glance to me is that you'll find postings a gamer might find interesting.
Even if you only spend a few minutes here you definately get a tongue in cheek "not just news" vibe.
Btw how does a really funny streetfighter related photo not have any relevance to gamers?
@Player3:
I'd say "gossip" covers a whole lot of ground--including awesome pictures. ^_^
@yomachaser & slacker164: I actually said this post was much more relevant than most of the other not-news posts. I am talking about the night/day notes, etc. Those talk about toothpaste, the writer's families, etc. And "gossip" may cover a lot of ground, but not when it's "gossip for obsessive gamers"
"All the site implies at first glance to me is that you'll find postings a gamer might find interesting." That would mean they have something to do with gaming, right? This one does, the one's I'm really talking about don't.
I cannot believe you mentioned Master of the Flying Guillotine. That's like, the greatest movie ever, yo.
dude i can not even believe this. i feel bad but im laughing. i am going to hell
@Player3:
I fully agree that the day notes aren't gaming related all ,but (at least for me) they don't go against the overall tone of the site.
This place has a very odd intimate feel to it, from the day notes giving slices of their lives (some of these have been really poignant/illuminating), to the humor injected into ...every post Kotaku never seemed to be a dry news site to me.
Out of curiousity what about the "off topic" postings bothers you? It's not like you have to scroll through 6 pages of MAXIMUM RISKY! to get to one post from GDC or Capcom Digital Day ,its the other way around by far.
I never played Dhalsim much (Ryu fan), but why is it that down+punch(in the air) results in a kick?
@yomachaser: Well, there are two things about those off topic posts that bother me.
First is the fact that they ban or jump all over anyone who questions the newsworthyness of certain posts. They should remember that not everyone who comes to the site instantly knows everything about it. And the fact that the site describes itself as being a game news site then attacks people for questioning the posts that aren't gaming related.
The second is that the night/day notes that give us "lucky readers" a glimpse into the personal lives of of the writers, makes the writers look like egomaniacs. How many topical blogs do that? Pretty much none that I've seen, because they aren't that presumptious. Do you care to hear about what I do at home (outside of gaming)? Probably not, so why should I care what Brian Ashcroft does at home? Then they have their vague ban policy that gets readers to stroke their ego even further out of fear of being banned.
awesome!
@yomachaser: Also when I used to kind of like the site there was a post from one of the old writers where she was getting on people's case for calling things "gay". She made me realize that I did it sometime and she was right. Then I called another former writer out on it when he was doing similar things. Then they both started harassing me via email.
Turns out they were both total dicks who thought they were always right and anyone who disagreed was wrong. Now I get that vibe from some of the other more prominent writers and the ban policy just reinforces it.
I never act like a "tool" on other sites' comment theads but this site just brings it out of me.
@Pezdispenser:
It doesn't. It makes Dhalsim spin head first on a downwards angle like a human torpedo.
PLAY MOAR.
@Player3:
I wouldn't say your acting like a tool or anything.
It may sound odd, but I like the day/night notes. Some are boring and some are cute/funny some and are deeply touching.
On the whole banhammer policy it does look carzy vague ,but the only people I notice getting bans are racists or assholes/trolls who can't mix even a little humor or insight into their posts.
... I think someone better be careful with their bitterness or they'll get themselves banned
In defence of the writers, personally I enjoy the Day/Night Notes of the writers. Our bloggers are kinda like celebrities (especially since Kotaku is arguably the best video game blog site in the interwebs!). Thus, learning about their personal lives is like learning about a famous actor's life. If you read a post about what Miyamoto did at home on Christmas day (which I'd be interested to read about), how's it any different from what Bashcraft did with his wife on White Day??? I can tell you that the post is related to gaming, because it lets the general public into a little window into the personal life of a popular gaming blogger.
btw, if you personally don't like these posts, NOBODY IS FORCING YOU TO READ THEM.
@onomeister: I'm not worried. I'd rather share my real opinion and be banned than play kiss-ass all day. You get to sit there in fear of the ban hammer. It actually has power over you.
That's nice that you and the bloggers think they are better, more important, and more interesting than everyone else. I think games should be the important issue, not the bloggers. Sorry for having a different opinion. Go ahead and ban me so you can all share the same opinion and fellate each other and live in your happy little bubble.
Do you really think celebrity worship is a good thing, even when we are talking actual celebrities? Go to TZM and see how sad it really is.
