With my Iron Man excitement gland working overtime lately, I've not paid much attention to Sega's other upcoming Marvel movie video game, The Incredible Hulk. Remember how awesome Radical Entertainment's The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction was? Well apparently developer Edge of Reality does as well, as Sega's Incredible Hulk features the same sort of open-world gameplay with film-centric events wrapped around a symphony of destruction on a scale only the Hulk could conduct. You can use cars and such as weapons, participate in mini-games, and build up your rage to learn more powerful moves. Just ignore the movie connection and consider this a very pretty Ultimate Destruction 2.

That's really all it takes to get me interested in this one! Ultimate Destruction was awesome, and if the gameplay in this is as good or better, it'll be a must-buy.
Has hulk......be...been Juicing!?
There are few things I enjoy more than throwing cars at people. Count me in.
Ultimate Destruction was fun, biggest thing they could add to this is more destructable buildings. I want to be able to trash the entire city this time. =D
Hell yes. These shots must be at least 200% of what I expect form liscened movie tie-ins.
it doesn't look very pretty to me. i would prefer a more comic book style. i don't like the "realistic" musculature and shading. he should be bright, bright green.
Crackdown anyone?
Hulk in Minigames? What minigame?
Anyway, I'm not getting excited for a movie tie-in game until I see Hulk rocket through a building, taking it down...
These are my standards :)
Oh good. By the way, is it just me or does it look like the ambient light on objects in those pictures is brocken?
hmmmmm...pretty character models DO NOT a great game make. we'll see if this lives up to the mighty pedigree of ultimate destruction. if so, count me in.
if not? HULK SMASH PUNY SEGA!!!
Hmm, doesn't look like Hulk has any problems catching a cab...
@Valshar: Whoever said a giant green agent was a bad idea?
@thaKingRocka: They will probably mix in an alternate skin lockable. I hope they do cuz I miss the purple pants.
If it is exactly the same as HULK UD....then I will be a happy man!!!
@Valshar: Spiderman did it first and it pretty much set the benchmark for comic book style game's being open-World.
Anyway, from the sounds and the looks of things, I'll be buying it.
@masticate: ahah I didn't, just noted the similarity. I'll be pissed if Hulk doesn't jump even higher though!
I hope his individual muscles animate. But I think I'm dreaming.
I hope this is a discount price game, if it is like Hulk UD, its going to be extremely short and not have much replay value, to me.
If you want another Ultimate Destruction, and really who doesn't, you need to be watching Prototype. It's from the same devs, and while it's not a Hulk game, it looks to feature the same mechanics as UD with greatly improved everything.
I loved Ultimate Destruction so this sounds great!
Presumably this needs to be finished by the time the film hits the cinemas this summer? In which case unless they started the game 2 years ago I predict a buggy and unfinished mess.
@QualityJeverage: Greatly improved everything? Not based on the hands-on preview that X-play had a few weeks back. It looked like they kept the same basic concept, but it looked unfocused and repetitive. Plus the color scheme was an unrelenting grey and they were trying to be 'edgy'. The game looked kind of dull, to be honest. And the moral ambiguity? Not really a selling point to me (although they stack the deck by making all the factions generally evil, so you can feel OK about killing them indiscriminately).
Ultimate Destruction worked so well because of the freedom and mechanics of being the Hulk. Prototype might live up to that hype, but it's got a ways to go to live up to Ultimate Destruction's precedent.
@Valshar: Heh, if he doesn't upturn cars and knock nearby citizens off their feet when he lands, this game will not be worth playing.
@masticate: Yeah, like what the agents did when you held B while falling down when you were maxed out? =P
Just read that the Bi-beast will be in this game...this title will go beyond the movie...good to hear and the Bi-Beast will be an awesome enemy to fight! I fully expect someone to offer a lewd sexual joke in response to what I've written....don't let your sophomoric fans down...
"Just ignore the movie connection..."
Why? This is for the second movie, not the previous one. A trailer will be released this week, and going by IGN's eyes-on preview, it looks pretty awesome.
@Valshar: Ultimate Destruction came out way before Crackdown. Whats your point?
Hmm, anybody know why it no longer leaves me logged in? I used to only have to log in once every few months. Oh well.
Yeah I hope the game's development is going smoother than the movie's..:[www.wwtdd.com]
I still side with Ed Norton until proven wrong, because Marvel with the (hopeful) exception of Iron Man has not been doing good movies lately.
Looks great. I cant wait to tear apart the city.
This looks cool... I like to smash stuff up.
is that Ryu from SFIV?
I just hope it still lets you catch missiles in mid-air. Except this time maybe eat them like corn on the cob.
@NowJacker: seriously, though. Someone has to inform Hulk that the Carrot Top diet and workout regimen isn't going to make him any friends.
@NoBullet: That Sega needs to take lesson from Awesome.
Awesome says it's more fun to jump to the top of a building than to walk.
Awesome says that even the smallest particle matters.
Awesome says that a traffic cone, propelled fast enough, can kill someone.
Great Odin's Beard! Hulk is seriously on the juice. WAY too many muscles, they need to tone that down a tad.
Hulk looks like Swamp Thing.
Sega isn't developing this game, some lame studio is. Ironman and this one will prob suck or suck compared to the other Sega games this year.
- Viking Battle for Asgard
- Sega Superstars Tennis
- Condemned 2 Bloodshot
- The Club (Yeah i thought it was awesome!)
- Yakuza Kenzan! (if it makes it over here this year, 2 is already confirmed for later in the year)
- Valkrie of the Battlefield
They have like 10 more solid titles this year, but I'm not in the mood to post them so a idiot can go 'OMG SEGA SUCKS CAUSE OF SONIC', cause all Sega makes is Sonic games right?
i hope they bring back all the goofy shorts you could wear :-D
somehow that was AWESOME
Wish he'd be more strength-accurate. He could probably lift the car with his pinky. Let's see him lift some freaking buildings and throw those around.
@velvet396: yeah....
And the ability to get super pissed and stop talking in the 3rd person.
But yeah...the hulk can go toe to toe with Superman.
Hulk wasn't super pissed enough to stomp out the little gnat of the Sentry.
Anyway...yeah....Im a nerd.
@Rebelphoenix83:
agreed, or to me some sort of green Vegetable....
@velvet396: "Strength Accurate"? I'm not sure what that even means. He can't swing a building around, because a building should fall apart under it's own weight if you picked it up. Destroy some buildings? That I'd like to see.
Want to know what would make for a next-gen Hulk? Allowing him to smash THROUGH buildings. Not just run up them or on them, but actually smash through those windows and jump IN the skyscraper.
Oh my gentle Jesus. My nipples are officially hard.
@acez2087: so are his!
This Look pretty awesome. I saw the trailer for the new Hulk movie and it looks like an awesome movie. they make the hulk look more muscular not so bulky looking. this should be great addition to the movie.
Edware Norton totally ruins the new movie for me. I can't look at him and not think of some more serious role than a cheesy comic book movie.
And why the hell make another Hulk movie ? What more are you going to add as a director ? There will be a big Hulk, thrown cars, battling of monsters, and explosions/shockwaves. The movie in a nutshell.
So, I am to assume this is a stealth game?
what we really need is a Hulk AND spiderman game. you can fight each other, or partner up.
they both work really well in a open-world game context, even though they both have completely different methods.
Seriously, Hulk looks someone who'd be in a Schwarzenegger body building contest. Terrible.
Also: did you know "Schwarzenegger" is in the spell-checker? That's scary.
As long as it's a shiny new spin on Ultimate Destruction I'm game.
It'll be even sweeter if they add a side mission to have the Hulk track down message board bashers.
"OMG NEW HULK MOVIE IZ TEH GAYZ"
Oh really. BLAM! Building to the face.
@NowJacker:
Juicing? More like extreme kidney & liver disease inducing shakes!
Why he almost has the same vascularity I have! Give or take a few...
i just saw the trailer for the new hulk movie last night, and let me tell you, i'm impressed.
the CGI looks A LOT better than the first one and edward n
