I wish they'd show more gameplay... make that any gameplay, but despite the lack of real detail, I'm still mildly intrigued with Firefly Studio's upcoming action role-playing game Dungeon Hero. In the game you play as a dungeon crawling hero with plenty of melee, ranged and magic attacks. Firefly's big pitch for the game is that it all takes place in a dungeon that is a "living, breathing community." Does that mean we're going to have Austin-Power-esque cut scenes with the weeping widows of the henchmen and bad guys you kill? Awwwwkward.

Awesome, I want to hear more about this game. If its half as good as Stronghold I'm getting it.
Yeah... atmosphere is great and all, but uh, what about gameplay? I do enjoy some good gameplay in my games.
Can we get an editor here, please? ;) Oh -- wait... *runs off*
This guy sounds like the next Peter Molyneux.
I remember hearing about this game a long ass time ago. I'm pretty sure it was on here. I talked about the possibility of going stealth and killing enemies at night in their homes while they sleep as opposed to just running around killing shit Diablo style.
For something like this to work it needs to have an actual AI rather than just pre-scripted NPC evens. I want to be able to break into the monsters houses and kill/threaten them. Lower the entire enemy forces moral with evil fucking tactics.... shit like that.
Mmm, delicious brown textures.
*sigh*
am i the only one wondering why there appears to be no human NPC's yet you're playing as a human. weird no?..
Bring back Dungeon Keeper!
I'm tempted to "Too Human" this right now - honestly, if you've got no gameplay and just a guy walking around while you make huge promises in front of a projector... just don't give a presentation.
@x753z is backwards!: Agreed. Right now it's looking like there's just a bunch of different animations. The goblin getting his leg cut off is only cool the first 2 or 3 times.
Looks cool, but doubt it is achievable outside of pencil and paper games.
If you actually go to Gametrailers, you'll see that this is just part one of a 3-part series. Part two shows some 1-on-1 fighting, and part three shows the hero against 6 or so enemy goblins and showcases the block mechanic, which allows for context-sensitive moves like kicking and decapitating the enemy with the edge of your shield. The game looks really cool, actually, and it goes the Bioshock route of skill upgrades that have tangible effects on gameplay instead of +6 to some statistic.
@baberg: Don't fucking watch it then. People like you go around pooh-poohing games and hurt them with your negativity when it's clearly a work in progress. I hope you never make it into games journalism you ass-hat! Let the people talk about their game for gods sakes! I swear I'll Too Human you!!
@okenny :): Wow. Nice knowing ya.
I think this game looks cool as shit. I've always had strange dreams about living in a dungeon, brought about from some marathon Diablo sessions.
@okenny :): Language, young troll. There are always naysayers for any game, regardless of the actual quality. No need to curse at them. Even if they are ignorant asshats ;)
