For those of you who have grown weary of the typical WWII or sci-fi shooter, EIEIO's Legendary may be the answer to your prayers. After unwittingly opening Pandora's box, the thief Deckard is the only one who can seal it again, and he faces many nasty, gnarly creatures along the way. Feast your eyes on this collection of gameplay, screenshots, and concept art - much like the werewolves and slew of other monsters will soon be feasting on your head.
Legendary Fact Sheet
Summary:
Sealed away inside Pandora's Box are the greatest creatures of myth and lore, locked away by ancient forces to preserve humanity. There they have spent eons waiting to be freed in order to rule the world once more.
When a thief named Deckard is hired to steal an ancient artifact, he unwittingly triggers a war between man and myth. Now is the only one capable of preventing the destruction of civilization.
Giant griffons rule the skies and werewolves tear at the flesh of the innocent as cities are held under siege by creatures we'd dismissed as the imaginings of our ancestors. As the only person able to seal Pandora's Box and return the beasts to their prison, Deckard must work with a shadowy secret paramilitary society to save our civilization before it's torn apart by tooth and claw.
Features:
- Not another World War II or generic Sci-Fi shooter!
- Modern military firepower meets the tooth and claw of legend
- A massive, block-buster experience; spectacular battles, run and gun fire-fights
- Dynamic environments crumble, skyscrapers fall; the collapse of modern society in the face of the beasts of myth is realized in breath-taking detail
- See London burn to the ground and witness New York torn apart in spectacular supernatural destruction
- Incredible and unnerving AI: watch in fascination as werewolves scale vertical walls to find a path to the player and use objects in the environment to their advantage
- Encounter three-way firefights; take on the beasts of the box and those who would seek to control them for their own, evil ends
- Take on enemies from the size of a child all the way through to spectacular titan creatures tens of stories tall

LOL that looks BAD!
Seriously, how much did Gamecock pay you guys to run a bunch of their press releases? I know it's just mostly bulleted points and screen shots, but at least rewrite what they're telling you.
Day 1 buy for me. I haven't seen a game this exciting since Daikatana
Man that wolf is a TANK. How many shells was that???
Syphon Animus?
what does that mean?
Gustavo, they're just printing the fact sheets that the devs/publishers send to the press. Pretty much all press outlets do that, it's what they're for.
Why...is the character fighting a werewolf in broad daylight?
I think many of these Gamecock games are showing all of their stuff WAY too early.
More to the point, why is this even getting made? Aren't we all tired of FPS games? Or is there a fresh batch of 15 year olds in the pipeline?
...aren't there always, huh.
@JohnnytheFuture: Not every version of werewolf mythos has anything to do with full moons.
From the makers of Turning Point...comes a game that may be slightly better than that disaster.
@darthmole12: Well put.
Either the controls are unwieldy as all Hell or that person can't aim to save his life.
Given that they seem to have (after using more ammo than it should have taken) killed the beast, I think the former is true. Anyways, looks too GoW "brown and bloom" visual-style for me.
Just to save myself the money, I'll buy this game on the day 3D Realms releases Duke Nukem Forever.
Looks better than Turning Point . . . but thats not saying much.
You know your game is in trouble when your number one bullet point is "Not another WWII or generic sci-fi shooter!"
I'm torn. On the one hand, this concept is brilliant. It's fresh, albeit not very well-fleshed out (Monsters on the loose! Someone has to stop them! Shenanigans ensue!) but on the other hand, as has been said a bunch of times before me...another fps? Really?
Also, going by the title I was expecting an info dump to end all info dumps. You know, a "Legendary Info Dump." Not so much a "Legendary...info dump." ;)
@Moonshadow101: Yah you're right, I should have done more research. I hope there are manticores in this game...
didn't spark unlimited made "turning point-road to a crappy game"??
@JohnnytheFuture: Manticores, Coacktrices and Gamecokers.
Melee damage vs Missile damage is unfair anyway. And not ammount of unrealistic werewolf HP can balance that away.
Is that video a Half-Life mod? seems reuse the sounds.
Please gamecock, stop taking your games out of the oven to show us what youv done when they havent even gone a crispy nex-gen brown yet.Seriously its just gonna get burnt this way
That piece of gameplay footage (although early im sure) looked woefull. For one, that werewolf wasnt showing off any unnerving or incredible AI,unless of course werewolves actually do just run at you flail a bit then repeat the process, and if thats the case i apologise and shall purchase five copies of this to make it up to you.
What it reminded me of was fighting the large Grey Jack creatures in Resistance (the ones that would run at you, flail, then run again),except it was now furry and needed 30 shotgun blasts instead of 2 or 3.
Im hoping Im wrong about it though, and the game turns out to be fantastic. But judging on this footage,my optimism is severely lacking
(note: draw not mine)
(is the only hit searching images.google.com for coacktrice. I guest the word is misspelled)
I know werewolves are are fake and all, but damn!
A werewolf taking that many shots from a shotgun, while being shot at by smgs on the side PLUS having grenades thrown at it...well, it seems unrealistic!
That looks promising. However the character animation (?) seems a bit buggy to me, more so than it should be for a beta. Could just be me. The werewolf seemed too erratic when it was supposed to be dead (or winded?) on the ground after being frag'd.
Looks like fun :)
Deckard Cain is the last of the Horadrim Mages, he's not a THIEF! I did NOT go all the way to Tristram and rescue his ass, only to have him open "pandora's box". This is BS!
This looks like someone cracked my head open and spilled the insides into game form...I cant wait!
Gamecock and Spark, two winners there.
my kingdom for a new Serious Sam.. hordes of monsters if more fun than this
I was interested in this game despite the stupid title until I realized that it's made by the same developer that made Turning Point. Y'know, the game they claimed was too high concept for hardcore gamers?
They couldn't make a good game for Eidos (who at least publish a good game every once in a while) so I don't hold out much hope they can do so for Gamecock who has managed to publish nothing good so far.
Who knows though, maybe this will be a...turning point for both companies? *runs away*
@Gustavo: My thoughts exactly. All of Gamecock's titles look like bush-league bargain bin games.
I counted, it took eleven shots to take it down. From a shot gun, that's actually reasonable, it takes something like that to take down a wild boar, and this is a were-wolf. The "player" just kept missing, nades were thrown behind it, and didn't damage it. SMG missed atleast half the time too. And seriously, 9 millimeter rounds, aren't going to do much to a wear-wolf, unless they are silver. That's probably the other reason it just wouldn't die. The rounds weren't silver. I like this.
Also, the "erratic behavior" while it was lying on the ground is what wounded animals look like when they are tying to recover from an injury. ^.^
Looks very intense.
looks like a shitload of crap.
So, is that a linear gameplay, with strong scripted events, and simple enemy AI?
I guest will be a fun game for the people that like that type of FPS (turning point, time shift, etc..)
As someone mentioned earlier, WTF with the werewolf in broad daylight? That takes away any and all immersion.
Yeah, the AI didn't seem intriguing at all.
To the audio designers, the werewolf should make more noise. He dies any barely lets out a wimper. Make that beast howl!
@Herabec:
I agree I think a werewolf shouldn't be taken down in 3 shots from a shotgun. They are supposed to be crazy strong and resilent. I hate it when games add mythological creatures and make them too easy to take down.
Sure the game doesn't look incredible at the momemnt, but it has my attention piqued. Hopefully this gets a little more tender love n care...and it turns out to be really special.
Meh. Take out the mythical creatures and you have a mediocre shooter, watching that clip.
For what they say the game has they really didn't show off anything special.
I still like the premise and hope it's a decent game.
