Take a gander at these gorgeous Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix screens. These fourteen screen shots only feature SF poster boys Ken and Ryu so if you're looking to see other character art, it's not here. The thing to really look at though is the backgrounds which are just beautiful.

CapcomHomo?? Nice screen name...
...whoops...that's what I get for not viewing the higher res pictures. It's "CapcomHome".
All apologies!
this game should have come out before they unveiled the new king of fighters. That looks gorgeous! this still looks good tho.
@djgeki: That's how I read it first as well. I'm pretty sure it's "CapcomHome".
As for the pictures, please tell me this is eventually coming out on the PSN. Gorgeous.
This game needs to come out. Now.
@futurebiblehero: A little slow on the buzzer, aren't you?
It's looks pretty good. But what's up with Ken's new chops?
I'm glad they fixed Ryu/Ken thumb finger in the Hadouken pose. They just forgot to also fix it inside the Hadouken! LOL
Hey I "love" Captain Harlock's...err... Ken's new look. :P
It's Streetfighter II how I 'remember' it looking. Fantastic!
Is that a hand in that fire ball? wtf
@futurebiblehero:
PSN isn't getting a "trial" version, but the actual release is simultaneous. The PSN game is likely going to have slightly higher res artwork because of XBL size limitations.
Personally, I don't see what the fuss is about a game that I already own countless copies of on 3 platforms already. New artwork or not, this is still a 14 year old game.
Whoah.....whoah! Have there always been shadowed hands inside of the hadoken!!!?
@OtherAdam: If it doesn't, it will be a huge waste of time and money by Capcom. SF4 would simply sit with its big fat ass on this game and crush it. Literally.
@Afore Notation:
O_o...yes.
@Afore Notation:
@OtakuFille:
yes, since Street Fighter II - The world Warriors :)
@OtakuFille: Its always been like that.

Damned nice looking though!
Sad to say, but I think this looks better than most of the SFIV stuff I have seen... the new art direction of IV just doesn't do it for me x_x
@Coffee Ninja:
See it in motion first. The sprites were re-drawn but they didn't add any new frames of animation it seems.
@omegasc: Man.....how did I miss that? Time to rewatch Dragon Ball Z to see what I missed there as well.
Am I the only one who is a hardcore SF fan and not impressed by this? I just don't like the art direction.
i thought the game was supposed to be full screen, but these shots are in widescreen aspect ratio. that's nice, if it meant they changed!
Beeeeeeeeeeautiful. I'm really stoked for this.
It's starting to hit home now. The one game that I obsessed over above all others... rebalanced and redone like this? This is pretty much the most awesome thing I have ever seen. It's like the best gift Capcom could ever give us old time SFII fanatics.
Does it play any different or is it the same as the SFII that no one's played since Alpha came out?
Looks like they're actually retracing the frames now instead of "Udoning" it up like before, which is fine since I thought there was alot of anatomy issues in the Udon sprites.
Looking good!
WOW, but I'm more excited for KOF 12.
Totally stole the ST thunder for me
I really want this game! It look soooooo cool!
@p_hon:
Errrm there will always be anatomy issues because they have to use the original hitboxes from the game.
@Moonchilde: I'm a hardcore SF fan, and I'm impressed by this, slightly unimpressed with the character tuning and the fact that no-one noticed the 'hands in fireball' before.
I guess HD makes everything super clear. Off topic: if anyone wants to know the difference between HD (blu-Ray) and DVD - it's right here - now you 'notice' the hands in fireball.
@Shin-Kaiser: I'm pretty sure those who didn't realize there were hands in the fireballs just didn't play much SFII.
lol @ HD (blu-ray)
Wow... that looks gorgeous. I can't wait to get this thing!!!
@Madeira:
When I was a kid, I would pause the game whenever I fired off a Hadouken to see the different shapes and designs that it made. I remember the first time that I discovered that his hands were inside the fireball.
I became a man that day.
This is how SFIV should've looked. Well, as long as the animation is good.
hadouken!
Wow.... wow
Wow.
DO want - Although I am awful at the game too.
Now Capcom, let's talk about Darkstalkers - HD Remix!
Those screens are looking REALLY nice!!!
@SnakeCL: oh, I know the original anatomy was iffy at best, but the udon stuff was just plain wrong as to opposed to being alittle off.
Screens of beauty. But my fighting game purist in me is more curious about how arcade perfect it is. Frame count!
Holy crap! Those screens are gorgeous. I can't wait to see it in motion!
This game needs to come out before July in order for me to get it. If it comes out after that I'll just wait for Street Fighter IV. They've been playing around with this game for far to long now. I remember when it was supposed to be out last August.
I didn't know the hadoken got hands inside! I always thought they were just shadows or something...
...kinda lame, isn't?
It looked nicer to me when they were just shadows :P
My GOD that looks nice. Consider it bought. For PS3. Because fuck fuck FUCK the 360 D-pad, and I'll be damned if I'm going to change up my 15-year-strong style by re-learning the game with a thumbstick.
Looks really, REALLY, sharp.
Really looking forward to playing this...
It looks great and all, but the animation is the exact same...well at least from the video i saw a while ago. If they added frames it wouldn't detract from the SF2 gameplay, it would purley be cosmetic...and will look awesome.
I'd recommend anyone using the white 360 controller to do that sandpaper mod.
@baked ham: I can't use the PS separated dpad, especially for SF. It's hell on my thumb for any serious playing. IMO it's a lot worse than an elite or modded 360 pad.
@Jnas:
It would detract from gameplay, since the game is based on how many frames move-x takes to execute. Odds are the entire original balance would get thrown out of whack.
@Jnas: If you mess with the frames you might as well through the whole project out the window.
@Madeira: Hmm... I don't have a problem with the PS3 pad personally, but I can see where you're coming from. As for the 360 pad, I've had 7 controllers, and none of them have managed to contain a responsive d-pad. The shape and feel of the d-pad is all nice and smooth, but it just doesn't seem to response to what I'm telling it top do the way the playstation d-pad does.
WTB SHEN LONG CODE
@SG79:
No, the article before this stated that both XBLA and PSN versions will be the same.
@Madeira: *throw*
How the hell did that happen? lol
@baked ham: The PS dpad has gotten a lot better in the current revs. Remember the first rev PS controller? Tekken on that thing? *shudder* the pain...
I could rant quite a while about the amateurish presentation, horribly deformed anatomy, etc. but I know they needed to keep the hitboxes intact. I just can't get over how bad this looks compared to the new KoF. At least they could have tried to push the shading a bit, they have static lighting, it would have been easy to make it deeper and more interesting, they already demonstrate their skills in some of the background shadings.
Please, don't stab me when I ask: "Is this for both 360 and PS3? Also, what's the new KoF coming out on?"
hmmm... I'm old school so its no surprise I like the original better but the detail looks great. I need to see some video. any links?
@Madeira:
I played SF2 nearly every day for 4 years, have bought every rendition I can think of, and I still didnt notice the hands in fireball. Mainly because its not important. I never saw the logic in overanalyzing appearances in games. Never did like frame counters, the sad species that they are.
As for this game, looking great. Now to decide which console to get it on, PS3 with better sprites but poorer online(judging from the wonderful games like mk2 and RR7 which were unplayable) or the 360 with worse sprites but better online.(although if its like umk3, than its not really much better)
Maybe capcom will suprise me and make insanely good online. That would be the best option.(and I can already predict people saying "online sucks, it ruins a fighter", but those are more than likely gonna be the same frame counting idiots that I dislike. Adding features never hurts a game, never understood why poeple complain about things that only add utility to the product.
Bah, now ive made a post complaining about people who havnt even complained yet.........
Should just say , thx capcom for treating your fans and customers well!!
It looks more like a really high-quality fractal resampling than redrawn sprites... makes you wonder.
Man this game is pretty. 'Nuff said.
@ara: yeah bro i agree when i first saw this video I actually thought it was all types of glitchy. lol
I would rather just use the older sprites if not just to get the fluid pixel animation.
Here are alot of HD videos from gametrailers.com
[www.gametrailers.com]
I've played Street Fighter for years....seen countless amounts of and haduken attacks (pardon spelling errors)
...And it took that first pic in the article for me to realize that there was an actual image of FISTS inside the fireball.
Wow.
