This is for the 360 version, in case you're wondering. Has a combination of pre-rendered stuff and actual gameplay, in case you're wondering. And yes. Yoda's in there, lightsaber and all. In case you were, you know. Wondering.

Much <3 for the new knight chick.
Damn man, I'm still in heavy debate whether I want the 360 version or the PS3 version. 360 version I get Yoda...PS3, Vader...oh the madness.
You know, I was really excited for this before, but the more and more I look at it, it just screams of sameness.
I was really disappointed by SC3, as it was just SC 2.5.
I think I'll wait until SF4 for my fighting game fix.
@Mikey G: Vader is way cooler in my opinion, and trying to play a fighting game with a 360 D-Pad is a no-no for me.
The genius who though that it'd be cool to add Yoda (Or Darth Vader) to the SC character rooster should be fired. From a Cannon. To the sun.
Anyway, The game looks cool, but...c'mon, Yoda?
@Fulgurator: Agreed.
I would have been a lot happier seeing bandai or namco characters in there instead. :x
"But the swords may have met their match"
lolol, what the hell was that trailer script?
stupid marketing guys and their retarded quotes in trailers...
@Witzbold: Great, now I'm imagining Pac-Man fighting in Soul Calibur.
...
How do you fight Yoda anyway? Use low attacks everytime?
@Lyrai:
That would have made more sense than Yoda. For god's sake, Yoda!
@DigiMish: Indeed the superiority of the PS3's pad weighs heavily upon my decision. I also find Vader alot more interesting. I'm not saying Yoda ain't badass, yes he is. The thing with Yoda is that I can already picture his moves in my mind, lots of jumping and twirling. I'm more interested to see what Vader's moveset will have him do.
@DigiMish: Yup, and using the thumbstick doesnt feel as "authentic"
@DigiMish: I really enjoyed Soul Calibur 3, it played so much differently from Soul Calibur 2, I felt.
I began playing SC3 when it first came out, then SC2 later on. While I enjoyed them both, SC3's controls felt much more tightened, and the custom character creation was a fun addition.
@Fulgurator: I completely agree, everyone knows that a lightsaber could easily cut through steel, it just doesn't make sense...
This is a huge stretch, but my attempt to justify lightsabers vs. swords actually working is that these swords are not only forged of steel, but within each exists a "soul". Something more ethereal, something that cannot be sliced. Something similar to the Force I suppose. But yes, quite a stretch.
Either way, I'm intensely awaiting this game's release. Can't wait to go online with it. 360 it is. (Live, I think, will be more reliable)
@Lyrai: You know that would be shit hot bro. ;D
Im guessing they just did it becuase BxN knows that most of the fans are overseas.
@Wyld: And the Soul Calibur voice is so...bland. It's really hilarious. Who ever that disconnected voice belongs to does not sound excited. Ever.
Like it matters, the 360 will probably scratch the disc up anyway...
Stupid faulty hardware.
I'll buy it anyway, being a consumer whore.
I don't understand peoples hatred for the star wars characters. it's like complaining about a free pizza. And if you guys are going to nit pick by saying lightsabres can but through metal you might as well ask as to why there is a life meter as one hit from azeroths axe swinging towards your face and you would be done for.
i wish i was a member at kotaku, if kotaku as even around, when SC2 to see who complained about spawn/link. whats his face from tekken i dont count because the fucker didnt even have a weapon. Theres really nothing bad about having these extra characters, it's just cool to play as them. The only thing i'd worry about is yodas height being a factor in gameplay.
but other than all that, im not as excited about this as i am SF4 just because it's been like a million years since an actual SF game came out

Character Reveal.
@ArmyofJuan: I didnt like spawn or link either.
At least heihachi was a Namco character. My friends and I still always though it was incredible how he could block everything with his arms though. Then again if you knew the tekken story you would know that Heihachi like Mr. Satan is unkillable so its kinda understandable that he can block weapons with his hands. ;D
Link sorta made sense since it was for the GC version.
My kingdom for SC vs. Tekken (vs. VF vs. SF vs. GG), but nooo, they have to be different just to spite me.
@SolDieR: Oh joy an elf. (thats pretty hot actually. Elf fetish comming back to haunt me) D:
@SolDieR: Link doesn't seem to be working... can someone who's able to see it upload? :D
@JohnnytheFuture: LucasArts does not know...
I'm still really curious how Yoda's hitbox will be managed, as that seems to be what'll determine how banned he is in our household.
Alas, I'm getting the 360 version if any since I don't yet own a PS3. And somehow I can't see that changing in the next year or so.
Gif PS3 trailer with heavy breathing and dark side powers plix. While I mostly play good guys in SC (that is, users of Soul Calibur as opposed to Soul Edge), I still think Vader is way way cooler.
Just when they mentioned Yoda a large amount of "URGH" came over, I mean how long are they going to pimp out Yoda and Vader? It's bad enough they're making them centric characters when they break the atmosphere so much... I don't think they did it so much with Link, Heihachi, and Spawn for SC II now did they?
@Anyone complaining about the inclusion of Vader in this game:
"I find your lack of faith disturbing"
@SolDieR: Art style doesn't match at all and the picture quality seems quite sketchy.
I'll believe it when I see it confirmed but an Elf as part of the *real* cast totally doesn't fit in their neat little universe they've set up.
Especially when she's got such an odd namesake.
@KraZe:
What can't fit in a "neat fine universe" that had host Link, Spawn, Yoda, etc...
I think they are ruining all the Soul Calibur "world" by adding shameless cameos.
For god's sake, Yoda... Now I'm repeating myself.
@Witzbold: Link is so overpowered in SC2, I own my friends everytime I play with him lol. It's funny how close his moves in SC2 are to SSBM.
"hte superiority of the PS3's pad" Yeah superior at causing hand cramps and pain for the user..
Anyway this is Soul Calibur 4 - the sellout part 2, the series peaked on the Dreamcast and all downhill since then.
when i heard that light saber turn on chills just went through my body. they need some of that sam jackson action in there too. and some darth mual.
Adding Yoda is inspired. I can't believe people complain about it. It will make a crap game fun for a few days at least.
@DigiMish: Actually Link is probably the worst character in the game. Its been a long time since I last played SC2 but IIRC he had a lot of unsafe moves. A lot of his attacks came out really slow too. Xianghua, Cervantes and the Sisters were pretty good. Link was cool when the game first came but after a lot of play throughs he just flat out sucked vs the rest of the cast.
I'm liking Hilde's design, dual wielding weapons and she looks like one of the few if not only female character who doesn't flaunt her breasts in a fight. But you never know, they probably gave her a scanty alternate costume.
@witzbold haha i swear you don't sleep.
Also, is it just me, or does the gameplay in the trailer look somewhat slower than in SC3?
I really don't understand... Yoda?
Cute balding little green imp dressed in a burlap bag versus disfigured despot in shiny black armour who shoots lightning from his fingers?
Mmmkay.
Trailer with Vador is much Better
I.. wel.. light sabers feel silly in this game. Spawn, Link and Heihachi very much fitted with the whole theme of the game. But using Star Wars characters in an SC game is like an innovative 360 game. Awkward and unrealistic.
@Northwood:
Sam Jackson and Darth Mual are confirmed DLC characters.
Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur was gay, is still gay and will always be gay.
this a tekken are my fighters to buy now...
If i can,and yes the d-pad in the ps3 is aknloeged by many to be better thatn the 360.U can't even play good bsome dl games.
And here is something the wii is missing and will miss every time,nmultiplatform games that aren't from Ea.
Anyway now i want to get condemned2+prologue unill gta4 and we see about this :)
All that matters to me is that this game will get me back into fighting games. I can't stand SF or VF or DOA. GIVE ME SOUL CALIBUR !
@Lyrai: Shh...you might give Namco ideas...
I might actually get an arcadestick for this, anyone have the hori or madcatz stick?
@Fulgurator: Seriously? Who honestly plays this series for the story? Between the horrible naration and the thinnest of plots, there isn't much there in that regard. The extra characters add something different to the game, and a reason for multiple console owners to buy one version over another, since they are often identical otherwise.
That said, for a Microsoft product, using Spawn over, say, Master Chief or a covanent member with one of their blasted swords makes my head hurt. I am not even a huge Halo FIEND, it just makes more sense from a company standpoint. Oh well.
@Nayl: Also, High five for the use of the word gay. I had wondered to myself if you were with it and edgy, and now I know it to be true. Kudos.
@JakeDunn: Get Hori never madcatz.
@Xeronius:
Uhm. I guess you have a point there.
By the way, I never played the Xbox version. I always wondered why they choosed Spawn. Did he fit at all in the game?
@Nayl:
"Star Wars characters in Soul Calibur was gay, is still gay and will always be gay."
Stating the obvious. There's nothing more homoerotic than a man with a shiny black helmet.
But does it make it WRONG?
I think not.
@Nayl: Banned.
