Dark Messiah DLC Live

darkmessbox.jpg You'd think Ubisoft wouldn't bother with a downloadable content for a game that performed as badly as Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements, but here we are. A 400 Microsoft point pack of DLC for the dark mess of Might & Magic went live early this morning, containing new maps, more powerful weapons, and two new classes for the single player game. While the paladin is generally a holy warrior in fantasy games, the new DMM&M paladin uses underhanded spells like shrink and charm to win battles. Then there's the warlock, who casts spells from a distance before going in for the kill with his blade. Perhaps not enough to make up for the game's awkward controls and muddy graphics, but I'm sure the folks that picked up the game and actually managed to enjoy themselves appreciate the effort.

I'm being serious when I say this but when the hell did this game get released. I've been looking forward to it for a while but never heard more news on it... who knew the window had passed. Bad advertising FTW! It also sucks that it seems to still have some issues.

  • You are right okenny same thing her.

But still it is to bad. I bought it for PC when it first came out and i loved it and i will recommend it to any one who wants a different kind of FPS.

  • I might get this game next year when it is hopefully 20 bucks.

  • I got this for 10 bucks at Target for PC a year ago.

  • @okenny :): Release Date: 10/24/2006 according to Google.

  • Great game on PC. Surprised to hear that it sucks on 360 (well, as far as you can be surprised that any FPS sucks on a console). I recommend getting the PC version if your comp is only a few years old.

  • ^Screw MS & their 'points' nonsense.

  • I'm surprised some publishers are NOT bothering to release DLC. I can't say for sure, but I'm guessing the expenses involved are nearly always smaller than the profits. You got the tools, probably got some slack time or summer trainees available to do the job, so why not?

The quality of different DLC of course varies, but I see mostly stuff that doesn't take too much manpower to produce. That, or content 'in stock' ie. something that should've been included already in retail.

I still want to buy this game, just for APs. D: Yes I know Im an AP whore but still, I had enjoyed the PC demo and needed some fantasy game to play. (Well when I have the spare time that is.) :x

  • "the dark mess of Might & Magic"

I saw what you did there. =)

  • yay, DLC for a crappy game!! Wooo Hooo!

  • The demo was ridiculously bad. I dunno if the whole game is much better, but I hated what I played.

  • I must be completely alone here. I...actually like the game. It's on my "Guilty Pleasures" list. Games with Swords get a +1 in my book. Games with Undead, +2. FPS, +1. Gratuitous use of physics, also +1. So, there's an automatic +5 to a very mediocre game, putting it well into the 8 or 9 range for me.

    I feel so ashamed. :(

  • @Witzbold: I've seen much worse AP whores in the past, myself included.

  • Shrink + Mighty Foot.

Think about this for just a moment.

  • @okenny :): I had the EXACT same reaction. Once I heard this was coming to the 360, I put off playing it on the PC and decided to wait. I didn't even know the damn thing was out yet!

Is it worth seeking it out on the 360? Or is it as sucky as they're saying?

  • The PC version is better than the Xbox port. Forcing the player to use specific classes was dumb. Who is going to play SP more than once anyway?

By the way, I have yet to see this game in store anywhere.

  • AUGH! i want this for the pc! the dialouge and writing of dark messiah insulted my intelligence and made me sick, but the combat on the pc was phenominal. GIVE ME OBLIVION WITH DARK MESSIAH COMBAT and i will say "the greatest game has been made" but in the meantime, why dont you just release that update on the pc for someone who apreciates your unique combat system and likes to re-play the game once in a while? the new "EXTREME" cover art is hilarious. (Does anyone out there know a game with similar combat? if SO, tell me! i wanna play!)

  • I loved Dark Messiah too. The combat was amazing, and the graphics were pretty good too. The environment interactivity was great. Shooting a support out of a structure to crush guards!
