Thought we'd be satisfied with a single rain drenched Mark Wahlberg as Max Payne pic. One photo is not enough! No way, no how. We need more Mark, less rain. Check out the above photo of Marky Mark. It's the second shot of him as Max Payne. The third is after the jump. The fourth is somewhere else (we don't know!).
SO EXCITING.
More Mark [Pop Sugar Thanks, Jubby!]

Man, I want Marky Mark to be in MY movie...that would rule!

Not bad, actually.
This one could actually turn out good. So long as it doesn't detract too much from the games' style and story.
Well it looks like Marky Mark has got the face down! Next is get that man some max payne-ish threads!
Nooooooooooooooo! double postage!!!
(triple now) :p
Ummmm... yeah Kotaku... Stop... It's late go to sleep.
thats right, smile for the camera...
I predict shittyness
How fitting would it have been if John Woo was directing this?
All he needs are those Max-Payne Threads and he could totally fit the part.
Oh man, the director's filmography isn't so hot:
The Omen (2006)
Flight of the Phoenix (2004)
Behind Enemy Lines (2001)
@Rockwallaby: but wishing its good..
@LittleBigPlaneteer: I'm guessing Woo would do the right thing, and change the title to HARD BOILED: WHITEY EDITION.
@LittleBigPlaneteer: Behind Enemy Lines was pretty good. It was well shot. And Flight of the Phoenix wasn't too bad. At least it wont be as bad a Bloodrain.
@RememberThe.357: Aw shit you just reminded me of a movie I still need to see.
Behind Enemy Lines that is.
Truth about Charlie ruined Mark Wahlberg for me.
"But why? Don't you trust me? Why u do this?"
I'm going to print a few of these bad boys out and snuggle with them when I go to bed.
I'll believe that its a Max Payne movie when I see him in a Hawaiian shirt and black leather trench coat.
@RememberThe.357:
Yeah true. I meant to add that we can at least take comfort in knowing this isn't a Boll "movie"
@RememberThe.357: I actually thought Behind Enemy Lines was damn good I mean it was shot really really well and the plot was engaging enough to keep me interested and it had a little something more than just a mindless action movie.
@Rockwallaby: I detect less shittyness than the Dragonball movie.
Good Vibrations will come with a good trailer. For now this "You Gotta Believe," will have to do:
+ Watch video
A game called Max Payne was cheesy enough. Can a movie pull it off?
@Trowble (XBL/PSN):
Now why did you have to go and bring that up ;__;
I finally accepted him as an actor, after many many years, and thanks to that, he's back to being marky mark in image and name.
(TLDR: I laughed my ass off at that video XD )
@Brian Ashcraft: And I'm pretty sure it was snow in that first pic. Toronto has been ravaged by snowstorms lately, and you can see the slushy ice underfoot Mark in these pics.
I'm cautiously Optimistic about this, Walhberg usually picks good movies to be in, and of course... as long as it's not Boll, I think we'll be fine.
Now that I think about it... couldn't they have gotten Timothy Gibbs to play the part?
Rumor has it this movie will be rated PG-13. That's right, Max Payne for tweens, how adorable.
@Miksho:
Even better!
I will buy my ticket tomorrow if Marky Mark gets on a ship and wastes some 100 guys like in the game.
Still, the leather jacket "Payne gear" photos need to happen. ASAP.
If they make a Max Payne movie without those comic book style narrative bubbles... epic phail
They didn't even gel up his hair in the front. I can fucking do that! Why the in the name of Kharne the Betrayer can't a goddamn movie studio with its millions of dollars go to the dollar store and pick up a vat of gel for this assholes hair?
We need leather.
@Coldbrand:
These aren't film shots, these are on set. Who said he went through the whole makeup process yet? I rather have his hair like this anyway. Not everything has to be literal to the game, ugh
I think yeah these pics look more like him showing up on the movie set or something.
No 'beater, no Payne. Until I see those threads, Mr. Wahlberg is no Max Payne.
Technically, those are picture of Marky on set, not really Marky as Payne... Can't you see he's... smiling ?! Max Payne don't smile, Max Payne shoot you.
And yes, the Hawaiian shirt and white t-shirt need to happen.
I don't care about the clothes I only wish the movie to be truthful to the core and spirit of the story
Where's the havaiian shirt? And what's up with the shoes?
@platinum: I second that. The ugly colorful shirt/tie really set a contrast to the series' dark nature.
Seems they went with the extreme dark hard-boiled with no tint of humor whatsoever.
i thought there was already a max payne movie... it was called like payback or something. it starred like mel gibson if i remember correctly. (which iirc was a remake of point blank)
One Word: GORGEOUS!
Saw the post earlier about this, and based on that, doesn't seem like it maintains much of the plotline of the game. Oh well, that doesn't necessarily mean it'll be bad - I hope.
I'm generally against video game movies, so I don't know what to think about a Max Payne film.
I have an outfit like that. Maybe I should be Max Payne when I cosplay or something.
@LittleBigPlaneteer:
Well one of the characters from Behind Enemy Lines has inspired the main character in GTA4. So it has all come around full circle.

@Ocelot13: Nah, that's the GTA3 movie. Amazing similarities to GTA3(already a criminal, shot by loved one, all about revenge more or less), not so much to Max Payne(originally/still a cop, loved ones killed, about revenge and conspiracy).
Didn't know about Payback being a Point Blank remake though, I'll have to go check that out.
Hope they can fix his costumes in the rest of the shooting/post-processing. Looks far too clean-cut and rigid for Payne.
I wanna see Up-Past-3am-Solving-A-Mystery, Bloody-And-Pill-Chomping Wahlberg
i actually like that they chose him.
i mean, ok, he isnt a max payne-lookalike, but it could have been worse.
my personal favorite was the young bruce willis. he has that desperate facial expression that max payne had in the first game.
To be fair, it not rain, it was snow..lol
The second picture fits Payne better.
I can't wait for the next round of pics, Mark Wahlberg eating his lunch and Mark Wahlberg watching some TV.
@LittleBigPlaneteer: Behind Enemy Lines as people have said, was pretty good but it got a bit of a beating from the snotty film critics.
Omen however, well.. how could any respectable director touch that thing? Catholic possession and/or demon films are a career death trap.
I am actually kinda excited for this one... if anyone can play a brooding badass its Marky Mark. I point to his work in 4 Brothers as an example of this. The announced Mila Kunis to the cast who I can only imagine will be Mona Sax although her voice is a bit too high for Mona's usual tone, but she is hot which I'm sure was the bigger consideration for the casting people
Now, if he just keeps the face he's got in the first pic throughout the whole film... we may have a winner on our hands.
