I love promotional music videos for games, since they're usually so wonderfully terrible they're fantastic. It's even better when there's a weird story attached: GameSetWatch turned up a NeoGAF post regarding the fate of Irrational's cancelled release, The Lost. The game has resurfaced (with reworked graphics, but with core mechanics and story relatively intact) as an Indian release for PCs under the title of Agni: Queen Of Darkness. As GSW neatly sums up, "... evidently this title went south, Irrational got bought by 2K and turned their attention to BioShock, and FXLabs managed to rejigger it for a Bollywood PC release." But that's not all! It even got its own music video featuring Bollywood star Malaika Arora. I'm entranced.
Irrational's 'The Lost' Turns Up... In Bollywood?! [GameSetWatch]

As one who is of Indian decent, I find that hilarious.
By the way, they murdered a beautiful, classic song.
What a terrible trailer, with terrible music. (like Usama said, ruining a classic song)
indians?
with the amount of skin shes showing doesn't that mean shes fair game to get raped without consequence?
i can't understand how the same whiny vocals are featured in every traditional song either.
damn india, you sure are confusing.
Her face at 0:49 is priceless.
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.:
She's wearin' a Whore UNIFORM!
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Raped without consequence? What do you mean?
And if you watch any of the Indian movies released today, this is standard wear. She's showing the same amount of skin most movies show now a days.
Even if they didn't though, I still don't get your comment.
Jesus Christ, this is worse than Chinese rap... >_<
Shes hot.
@Hypnotoad222: That's going to give me nightmares ;-)
@Usama: i think i'm getting my cultures mixed up but one of them says if a woman shows more then like her face, shes fair game to get raped and beaten/killed.
i dunno, still a horrible video though.
can i just note that she is absurdly hot
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Yeah I think you might. And what you're describing is anywhere in the world people warp religion (and almost always the religion is mine, Islam), and use it to kill/beat women. Raping? I'm not sure about that, because if they DO rape the women, then they're simply the biggest hypocrites ever.
Hot. None of you have ever touched a woman.
@Usama: I mean hypocrites ON TOP OF .. well I don't want to say what I think should happen to rapists on here.
@wav3form: ??
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.:
I want to join that religion =)
I love Bollywood SO MUCH.
@wav3form: Completely random flame to make oneself feel superior to people they've never met FTL.
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.:
My parent's had been watching Indian channels from the satellite dish for years, and no one ever got raped and killed for dressing like that. And we're talking really old movies too, from around the 50's and 60's. If I had to bet, you definitely got your cultural stereotypes mixed up.
She is perty hawt though, I'd rape it. ;) (the winky face means I'm kidding and that my comment is, in fact, a joke)
OMG is nobody excited about the fact that now there may be a way to get your hands on "the lost" do none of you know what this is? i have been dying to try out this game. i have loved everything irrational has done and i have been constantly bummed out about the fact that i never got to play this game. import please.
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: your getting Afghanistan under Taliban rule mixed up with India by the way.
Jesus, that's the most schizophrenic video editing I've seen in a while. It made my eyes hurt.
@BodyOfTheMany: I know. I was drooling over the title for years till it was canned, and still look fondly at the concept art and story premise.
And now it's some revamped indian game? WTH? this was a game that deserved a 360/ps3 facelift and next gen release, not some shoddy indian PC bollywood release.
Farking A.
The PS2 game that was supposed to be about the chick from Dante's inferno?
Damn. I remember drooling over this one... how many years ago? When the PS2 was still new? Bummer that it got canned... I mean. It gets a release, but... weird.
If they wanted to make a Bollywood game they would've been better off getting the rights to license a Bollywood movie game. Hell a videogame of Kaante, Khakee or Don would be pretty cool.
Posing FTW!!!
@meandering_drivel: i'm really hoping you take a banhammer to the eyesocket for that
God that music is horrible.
What?
First off, I didn't even know there were Bollywood video games. Bollywood films are already pretty obnoxious. And how does a game based on Dante's Inferno get picked to be translated into this? Does the Hindu religion even have a hell?
I remember being excited about this game way back when... This is just disappointing.
lol wut
So what was the purpose of this?
@meandering_drivel:
What the fuck is wrong with you.
@frostcircus:
Seconded.
On topic for a moment, I'm kind of interested in this game in a tomb raider/price of persia sort of way.
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Wasn't there a woman in Saudi Arabia who recently got sentenced to 200 lashes (before international powers stepped in to stop them... I think she got thrown into jail or something instead) for being a rape victim?
A Bollywood game? Does that mean you fight with the power of song and dance?
Don't care about the song.
Don't care of the game.
All I care about is this.
Indian woman are hot.
The End.
Malaika Arora Khan - her sister is hot too, plastic surgery though...
[en.wikipedia.org]
@Usama: @Usama:
Seconded, on both counts.
i heard her sing 'hell yeah pokemon stadium' countless times. what the hell.
actually, I agree with everything you said.
I really, no REALLY hate bollywood/india songs and music...
That wacko-rhythm and those aaaAAAAaaaaAAAAaaaaAAAaaas-eeeEEEeeeeeEEeeees are driving me nuts, seriously X_x
I used to live in a cheapo-apartment with very thin walls back in the days together with my parents for like 2 years and there was that indian couple, that lived next to us.
Well my room happened to share a wall with theirs... and those people loved to listen to their "music" from early mornings till the late nights.... 0_='
So i guess you can image all that pain that i've been through.
Oh and every time my gf came for a visit and we were getting intimate, boy i tell you, that music can be a real f* cockblocker. Seriously, there is no way you can f* to this, i would rather go with sabredance....
wooops, sorry for getting a "little" off-topic, that vid just brought some bad momories back lol
God. I'd consider playing that, looks kinda fun. Irrational = win.
the fact that i watched more than a minute of that video is testament to how hot the singer is, because that song was ear-blistering.
talk about a flashback: I remember reading about the original game back in the old OPM a few years ago. had me intrigued, and eventually led me to read Dante's Inferno. tis' a shame it was actually complete before they decided not to publish it :(
@Lancehead: I was obsessed with the most terrible song right before I left Taiwan. I was fascinated by it, because not only was it Chinese rap, there was this weird sort of traditional operatic-esque singing part in the chorus that had a woman wailing away with 'Ni hai jide wo maaaaaaaaaa? Ni hai jide woooooo.' Oh god. It was AWFUL. But I love that sort of stuff. Once things cross the line from being so awful they're great, I'm sold. 99% of Chinese promotional music videos for games fall into this category.
AAAhhhhhhhhh they ruined such a good song
GERONIMOMOMO!!!
oohhh...whoops....
This is the best promo vid for World of Warcraft.
@artofwar420:Dammnit here:
+ Watch video
+ Watch video
Wrap the rat in tacky coat!
is this an MMORPG about trains?
This just in! Movie actors are hot!
@Gantz: Your Trusted Friend in Science.: Im guessing you want to get banned too right?
@man_in_gauze: Thanks :-)
@artofwar420:
... and i'm going to cry myself to sleep tonight.
foreign pop = crap
american top 40 = foreign pop in other markets
ergo, american top 40 = crap
bring back the friggin tin whistles and bodhrans, imo.
@ryanfrost: let me be clear on this ... SHE IS NOT THE SINGER. Malika Arora, or any of the other "hot" actresses of Bollywood are generally (read: 99% of the time) not the actual singers> Every Bollywood movie/production that has a song number involves lip syncing. This is not to be confused with legitimate music artists in India who do actually sing. But actresses/actors, and models like this one, generally do not sing.
for the record, I'm a fan of older Bollywood (I'm 23), I'm talking 50s and 60s. I don't really get most of the newer movies.
I generally find Indian women attractive, but well I AM Indian so I may be biased. Still although Arora is attractive, and nothing against her, I just don't think she's anything special. Also I'm very confused as to why she agreed to do this. Oh well.
Argh I want 10 second of my life back please (thats how long I watched this crap before clicking STOP!)
@Usama: I'm a fan of older Bollywood (I'm 23), I'm talking 50s and 60s. I don't really get most of the newer movies.
Props!! Classic Bollywood FTW!!!
@the video...seems like a next-gen item number. [en.wikipedia.org]
@devilhunterx: I made it to 45 seconds but I was eating pizza rolls at the time. WTF?
Instantly infuriating.
Dont bother ppl, This game is not Lost as we knew it was back in 2000. I played the game myself.. it sucks. during the extra 5 to 6 years of dev time the game took.. it doesnt expands the gameplay even a percent and its not balanced, not fun. I guess an international release for the game with the name of "Inferno" should be released soon.
@artofwar420: That has got to be one of the best songs ever. I remember watching it a lot when a friend sent it to me about the various dances in WoW.
