Hmm, not being a big fan of the series I have to say that I actually might pick this one up when I get a ps3/360, looks interesting and the character models look like they've been beefed up a bit in the detail department look less like shit than they used to.

I really can't wait -- this is going to be the 'it' game of the summer no question (Sorry Smash Bros -- I love you though!).

Doves will fly. PS3 and 360 fanboys will huge and share in their love of the game. Music will pour into the streets prompting the citizens to dance. Cats living with dogs. Divorced parents will get back together for the kids. Taxes will be lowered, public services will be raised. And more. And more.

I have all the faith in the world that the folks at Rock Star North are going to pull this off.

I'd by this if it were on PC, even though I think the whole 1 player PC game experience is a bit weird. If devs are all about HD and super awesome physics engines why don't they see the PC as a viable platform? I mean you're pretty limitless with the PC as compared to a non upgradeable home console.

Well I guess it will eventually end up on PC but by then I'll have forgotten about it.

As a past PC gamer I see where you're coming from. But, piracy has attacked PC gaming too far, and I'm in the majority who prefer to sit down on the lovely sofa, pick up a small, good sized gamerpad and let rip with easy UI and a much less overly hardcore PC gaming attitude which is to make everything overly gladitorial.

How many major Halo 3 clans can you name? None. Exactly, thats because Halo 3 is for playing simple enjoyable quick games. Yet games that should be fun, like Counter Strike Source and Team Fortress 2 are ruined by this "you need to play this game every minute of your life" attitude. Even more so with TF2, as its atmosphere is much better on the console edition. MMORPGs follow this extreme attitude, and that is why their only audience is on the PC, doomed to the stereotypical teenager, allergic to natural light and fruit.

GTA made its name on the consoles, and that's where it will stay, because to be brutually honest even to me, a hardcore gamer, sitting on your horrible chair with an overexpensive PC with hardware thats losing its value in seconds, an operating system that constantly crashes on you and using a keyboard and mouse, designed to type on and do general activies with, not to move around on, and worrying about your position in the clan, just is not fun anymore.

The gaming PC is almost dead. Viva la console revolucion.

@josh51: You've been able to make your own stations on the last couple iterations of GTA, both on the PSP and Xbox, I'm certain you'll be able to make your own Slayer station.

@Communist_Gamer: Like the communist ignorants preceding you, you generalise too much. The PC democracy is a stimulant and healthy gathering of choice and skill. Even with matchmaking, games like Halo can be frustrating. But there is still a thriving mod community, and everything independent is STILL made on PC, even the UT3 mods.
PC gaming is not dead. It just needs to close its borders and get the pirates the fuck out of there with extreme force. Enter, STEAM.
And are not consoles becoming more and more like PC's? Internet browsing, media files, etc. The only difference is, that Sony/Microsoft/Nintendo can BAN content, like the lack of AO games on consoles: a revolution, turned into an oppresive system.

This game just keeps getting better and better looking and looks like its going to be just as funny as the others AND have great music, not that I ever doubted that.

I just cant wait, i reserved it today (limited edition of course) and i just cant be more hyped about the game. I want it now!!!

Seemed to answer your own question there. As limitless and superior as the PC platform can be, it is that upgrading factor that isn't so cost effective to the average consumer. There is also this assumption that everyone knows how to upgrade PC's and that they keep up with how fast PC hardware depreciates and evolves; which is yearly by video card standards with each card costing almost as much as a game console. All this versus buying a new console hardware every 5 years without having to fuss with installation and compatibility issues is pretty obvious why the mainstream has gone consoles and why the PC market is struggling. I agree PC games are superior, but it isn't about HD graphics and physics engines.. it's accepting the fact right now that the PC market isn't a large enough pool to guarantee sales unless it's a WoW expansion.

@MasterOfPastures: Agreed. PC gaming isn't dead. It is in fact VERY alive. Just because certain people can afford the latest and greatest... doesn't mean there isn't a group of people who can. Team Fortress 2 thrives on PC, and so does counter strike.

If PC gaming was dead, companies like ATI and Nvidia wouldn't be selling brand new cards at 600-1000 a pop (and selling out of them on day 1).

But back on topic... Yay GTA4! Hopefully it won't control like like a fat chick on roller blades like the last couple of games.

i got super bored with gta games in the past, but if someone can convince me how this game will be different than the rest, please be my guest... i just really hope RS put some innovative ideas into this game and not just some stereotypical voice over accents.
