With the PlayStation 2 port of High Impact's excellent PSP take on the Ratchet & Clank series just a week away, the official PlayStation Blog posts some details about the game's multiplayer. PS2 Size Matters takes the same amusing multiplayer functionality from the PSP version and splits it in two for split-screen goodness between you and a friend. You get four maps - Island Escape, Danger Valley, Mega Cannons, and Moon Cow Disease - complete with the Iron Lombax special challenges for each map. Personally I miss my R&C online multiplayer, but how much can you really expect from a $29.99 port of a PSP game?

This could have stayed on PSP honestly. We need another serving of Ratchet and Clank Future please!
Looks like this is going the way of Grand Theft Auto. Decent portable games don't automatically translate well onto consoles.
I actually don't mind the delayed release ports to the PS2. I am a PSP owner and will buy it for the PSP because I want to play the game on the go and prefer not to wait almost a full year to get it on my PS2.
However if you can not justify the purchase of a PSP (for some crazy reason), then you should have no problem waiting for an excellent game.
I'm thinking of a word. It starts with "M" and ends with "H".
It's only three letters.
On the other hand, fans w/out PSPs should be happy. I guess.
I hope they are at least using the models from the PS2 version. This is probably going to end up looking terrible.
This looks really unappealing.Really Sony, instead of porting a game tailor made for the PSP (and by the looks of things looks better) to the PS2, how about just making another ratchet and clank for the ps3 instead?
This looks like a PS1 game...
Ugh, go away old man, go away, shoo shoo !
@DigitalHero:
At this point no one is really going to buy the PSP for this game, so if putting it on the PS2 gets Insomniac some more money to make future games then why not? I don't have a prob with PS2 ports so long as they come out well after the original. I don't believe all games should be ported, but something like Vice City Stories, and this game seems fitting enough.
err...Not a grammar nazi but the 'Multiplayer' in the title is spelled 'Mutliplayer'.
The PSP version is superior with online multi-player. Also it is portable.
Bad enough their gimping the multiplayer, but this game LOOKS HORRIBLE!!! Seriously the PSP version looks better.
@Xideo: Different Developers. Insomniac is hard at work on Resistance 2 and Future 2, while this is being done byt he guy's who made Size Matters, High Impact Games.
This looks like total ass. Honestly, they could have done a far better job with this port.
Ah sweet, always wondered what a PS1 Ratchet would look like.
@mrantimatter:
Yeah, different developers is the reason this title wasn't all that great, compared to what Insomniac could have done with the PSP. But whatever goes, I just want Resistance and R&CF2 as soon as I can. i worship Insomniac, really.
