Remember laser tag? Some of you may be too young. But with the coming of Halo 3, laser tag has been reinvigorated with licensing dollars. Last week, Jasman Toys announced new Laser Command toys co-branded with Microsoft/Bungie. This week, we have pictures of the glorious weaponry as it goes on sale at ThinkGeek (along with a few other retailers we're sure). The guns are actually pretty slick, with as much attention to detail as stickered plastic can achieve.

1. Their absurd sizes.
2. Their absurd firing kickback.
Looks like a fun enough afternoon. The pistol set with run you $80, and the rifle is quite a bit more at $130.

the rifle is HUGE, also I wonder if the shield makes the sound effect from the game when it's' recharging.

No wonder why the plasma rifle knocks folks the fuck out when you clock em with it. Just look at the SIZE of that thing!

Not bad, but the guns aren't the reason no one I know never played, it was the clothing that registers the hit. It needs to be bigger and with multiple damage amount areas IE body core, arms, head.

These have been at my local hot topic since Christmas.
Still doesn't hold a candle to the old laser tag arenas. (Man, I miss those... there's a few still kicking, but not around these parts)
But disregarding that... DO WANT.
HA LOL, man this would be fun to make a deathmatch area out in the yard when i was a kid.
the just need to make a toy laser sniper, mauler, and spiker and you can place em like on High Ground.
Backyard battles were great.
of coarse there would be rules as to what could be dual wielded and what could'nt :P
I think the shield system sounds a lot more fun than traditional laser tag setups.
I saw some of these lying around at Fry's last night, in horribly mangled boxes, leading me to believe they were actually REALLY old merch that somehow languished on the shelves.
I was shocked to see the insane prices on what amounts to a nerf gun with some lights and sounds... they do look pretty and shiny, but I'm nowhere NEAR the level of Halo fanboy required to justify such a purchase.
Hell, they still have dozens of the "Halo 3 Limited-Whatever-it-comes-with-a-helmet" edition gathering dust at 79.99...

I'm not a Halo fan, but that's pretty damn cool...
As long as How I Met Your Mother is on the air, Laser Tag will survive. And these Halo guns won't hurt, either. Epic win.
They sell these at Hot Topic for a while now already...

@Zytokis: I would love some Marine weaponry, but I think they fear selling laser tag guns that look somewhat "real".... even if it's a stretch.
I wish there was real heat when it overheats. That would make me but it.

Don't think I would personally buy them. However they look really good. Seems like the makers went to a lot of trouble to do their best. Parts popping open when they overheat = awesome. Shield recharging is kinda cool as well, wonder how long it takes. Also wonder if 6 rapid shots from the rifle = dead. Or once hit there is a brief second of immunity.
Oh and just cause the guy works at thinkgeek doesn't mean he has to look like such a geek lol.
Why is everyone saying "they're huge?" They're exactly the size they're supposed to be. If you look at the Humans holding Covenant weapons in the games, they're about the same size.

My friend has the plasma rifle, it's actually pretty cool. He is a little dissapointed the actual laser tag portion of it is pretty weak though.
they are coming out with the covenant sword for this system too btw... Do want.

I just got my pistol in the mail the other day, but have had the rifle for weeks now. They look great, but in person are made like shit. The little wings on the plasma rifle can break SOO easily, so you have to be really careful.
I want my portal gun. Unfortunately, they're not interested in mass producing something that will cost 2 million in parts alone.
It doesn't look very ergonomic, looks like alot of weight hanging off the wrists. Can't believe an advanced alien race would design something so ergonomically illogical. Oh god, it fails!

I got to play with these at CES. They're pretty well put together although the "vents" that open when the rifle "overheats" feel kinda cheap. I'm interested in seeing how they integrate the Energy Sword (they were showing it at their booth but they didn't have any there) with laser tag.
You know, I had my doubts, but those are actually pretty cool. And the portable shield is pretty cool, if not clunky.
Think I'll have to order me a rifle. ;-)
I don't play Halo and I'm a confirmed pacifist (except where the undead are concerned), but damn do I kinda want those...

Are you kidding? These have been out for 2 or 3 months! I already own both of them, and gave several away as Christmas presents to friends!
You can go buy them right now, in your local mall at Hot Topic.
Their functionality is excellent, but the color schemes is a little off, and doesn't match the colors in the game or their photos.
Heh, once when I was 17 I was so bored I went to a laser tag place nearby and bought myself a night pass for something like $20. Some dozen games latter, by the last game I was pwning the field.
It would be pretty fun to do this with Halo weapons.
Laser > paintballs.
