Contest time! Oh goodie goodie goodie. We're having another scavenger hunt. You remember our scavenger hunts? You search for clues, there's counting involved, you get pissed off at me and cry. This time we are giving away Patapon-themed Be@rbrick figures. These are being sold in Japan, but not America. So, what we're going to do: Give away four of them. Well, we're not going to give them away. You've gotta win them! Our scavenger hunt will consist of seven questions. When you find one question, that will lead to another one. How do you know if you are correct? You'll find a pointing fish to, well, point you in the right direction. Here's the first question:
We butcher a theme song and don't get invited to the best parties! Which party did we miss out on?
Good luck! Send your answers to kotakucontestATgmailDOTcom. The first four people to submit all seven answers to the email will win a bear. That's it, no deadline, no random drawing for finalists, so you better hurry the heck up.

Oh great, I've been waiting for an excuse to waste 4 hours at work again.
Let's just get this out of the way, any of you cheat or list answers or anything like that and I will send your commenter page to the banhammer. I am sure that Ash will be keeping an eye on this too, so don't even think about cheating.
Based on the initial reviews, this game looks like a strong contender for Game of the Year for the PSP. With Crisis Core and GoW both coming out next month, the future finally looks bright for the venerable Sony hand held.
It not only looks bright for the psp, the ps3 is looking good too. All round sony are looking good this year.
It's about time! Haven't seen a contest in ages. Kotaku, I love you and this contest is nice, but let's have a badass God of War COO contest.
Maybe...best home made homage to Kratos? i,e papercraft, knits, cakes, etc. etc.
Watson, it is time to solve this riddle! Deduce, deduce, deduce!
@mzs: What's this cheating business?
Oh yeah, the PSP demo went up on PSN this morning. Be warned: serious chopping during the heavier action scenes, but the retail copy is supposed to be superb in that regard.
@dsmx: I agree with your sentiments. 2008 truely looks like a banner year for the PlayStation family.
@budash2: Jeebus. By PSP demo I mean the demo of God of War COO.
Totally off topic, but is anyone else smelling remote play for LBP? Maybe that's why its release has been postponed so often. Crossin' my fingers anyway.
That has no game in it? I'm a bit unclear as to what the prize is. Nonetheless, nightmares of the previous hunt is still there.
@mzs: Keep in mind that it's first come first win.
Sigh... I hate thems scavenger hunts....
guh... I smell cone hats
Us UK residents get such a bum deal /whine
I may just take part in the hunt part of it anyway, just for kicks.
Oooo patapon bear!
@Witzbold: The patapon bear scares me, so I'm not going to fight over him.
im so blind i was looking right at the pointing fish and didnt realize i found the next clue. Took me 10 min to figure it out.
I never liked fish to begin with. Mom brought me into a fish store as child. Holy shit the smell still haunts me till this day.
Just sent it in. I clearly got the last one wrong. Number games are eeeevil.
@mzs: Cheating is almost a non-issue in this contest. I mean, sure, someone could be a retard and do it, but the speed based contest makes it hard to have time to cheat. The last one had a deadline and random drawing, so cheating was much easier.
@Smex: I concur. The last question continues the tradition of the slight ambiguity that we've come to know and love with last questions of Kotaku contests.
I hadn't seen the actual bear and so just sprung into action on the contest; the bear is meh, but the contest was fun anyway so no harm no foul if I lose >_>
Hehe, I found one of the entries on accident a while ago, catching up on the entries I have missed since this weekend. I felt like I was in on some secret, until I refreshed the top page. :/
done!
Entry sent!
Hope I win, just bought the MGS4 set of Kubricks. Reviewing Patapon at the moment, absolutely loving it
I have no chance in hell. Ah, well. Fun stuff anyhow.
@Krytha: Truthfully Im more amused by the box than the actual bear. ;D
Damn it, sounds like that makes me number 5 >.<
Whoo thats probably the most work ill be doing today! I kid... well not really.
patapon's awesome, i sure hope i win
@Not_Matt: Pata Pata Pata Pon! Ever since I tried the demo I've wanted the game but never got around to buying it. Maybe I will this friday.
I sent it in, but I have a feeling people might fail a particular answer because of sliver....
Probably me as well...
God, I love me some Patapons!
@P-Sheddy: Same here. Loved the demo, although it's ONLY 20$ in Canada and USA I haven't quite gotten my ass out of my house and bought it. Hopefully I made it though in time to win the last statue, seems there are some quick searchers here above.
@Not_Matt: Fear not, for it's unlikely that everyone who sent in before you got the last one right. I just want to see who won, and what the answers were.

CONTEST ANSWERS
1. Just kidding. I just finished, and though I doubt I was one of the first four, this is the first Kotaku contest I've participated in and it was fun.
Good luck everyone.
whenever these contest occur I feel as thought "site:kotaku.com" gets search much more often on google...
I actually finished?????? I hope to GOD I get that last question right... YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN
damn it, the last one got me. And now I'm probaby like the 20th person. Guess I'll just get the bear from ebay or something.
@goldwings: Constant re-reading has lead me to believe that I have failed the last question. Damn. Whatever, I'll get something else next time ;)
Also for some reason, I had trouble with the second question. Couldn't find it for a while.
Dang. I believe that I've already lost. My email won't load and therer's probably already hundreds done.
ah. Should have woken up earlier ;(
If I don't win this contest I'll just go find a place that's doing another xDDDDD
I have a great plan to drive everybody else who entered the last contest insane, so I can take my time and win:
Storm Troopers.
I just submitted my answers. The counting was tricky as always.
eh, too much work for just a doll.
I'm just glad I finished my speech yesterday. I can't imagine explaining to my group in class today that I don't have my speech done because I just had to finish a contest on kotaku. Anyway, as always, a certain question is sure to make me cry.
ahh i messed up
i thought the 7 questions would be posted today, i didnt think they would be linked through the posts found.
oh well, n00b mistake.
did it seem to anyone else that the penultimate question.... wasn't... really... a question?
(I sincerely hope that's not counted as a spoiler or anything...)
Another Kotaku scavenger hunt?
I'd rather drink a pint of Jack Thompson's piss than put myself through that hell again.
No thanks Kotaku
Fuck you very much.
The bear looks like a terrorist more than a patapon bear.
But the box is really cool :)
holy cow no 4 is kinda hard ><
Lucky I saw this when there weren't many views and started on it right away....hopefully I get the right answers.
I love these scavenger hunt games, even if I do lose, because even though you don't win you still know that at least you were quick witted enough to have a chance.
Good luck to all.
Yay for time-wasting, frustrating-inducing scavenger hunts...they're my favorites :o)

... I want my patapon statue ... I blame kotaku, maybe I was too late?
@wildrabbit: just emptied our spam and such, just in case. Maybe try again.
@Cruithne: Who peed in your cheerios?
