Final Fantasy VII on the NES? Tip of the iceberg. This site has a massive catalogue of other bootleg, Chinese homebrew carts, nearly all of them based on existing game series or movie tie-ins. Link to the Past on NES? Got it. A Lord of the Rings 2D fighter? Got it. Super Mario World on Mega Drive? Yup. A Titanic platformer for the NES? Got that too, and it's amazing.

Super Mario is choke full of win. I like the art direction.
lol @ LOTR fighting game.
Bahaha the Titanic game. Yes, when the ship is pointing out of the water at a ~45 degree angle, I'd say it's game over.
I need that Titanic game. Just wanna beat it so I can see Jack's death reenacted in 8bit glory.
lol @ Titanic. Look at Jack go after /sweaty
Why aren't these people sued up the ass? LTTP on Nes looks pretty good
Rapidly press A to never let go.
More pertinently: they also have Diablo II on that site. It seems to be a turn-based RPG though :(
Lol I wanna see a video on Titanic
"Only the ring that possessed great witchcraft can rescue the world..."
What?
I knew all these PS3 news stories were just the build up to the real news of the day.
SOOOOOOO
Is the sex part of Titanic in the game?
Titanic? Wtf? That seems somewhat random.
@Luke Plunkett: "Tip of the iceberg."
I love how you say that and there's a Titanic game.
@Sailorcancer: Doesn't need to be... the game is THAT good.
Super Mario on Mega Drive is unbelievable garbage (lots of wooden crates and very little collision detection), but it is pretty funny. As I recall, it had a substantial amount of music from Mega Man games in it...
and don't forget those "50 in 1 games"
check out the first game on the list of the site, it's chrono trigger. but look at the last screenshot, one of the enemies is a beedrill from pokemon. that made me laugh.
I wanna play some of those.
"TITANIC - The revenge" , :-o ...
@Zenax: I thought the LotR 2-D fighter was more random.
"lets see, we have a sprawling world chock full of complex lore and an epic adventure to change the world with a party of ragtag adventurers, how can we make this into a game?"
"... a 2-D fighter?"
@TOCATL: Win! Good job.
LttP looks pretty much the same.
I would play the LOTR 2D fighter. I'll bet that Smeagol is a badass.
Sony news finally stopped??? IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!
For some reason Frodo seems to have really buffed up and gained a couple of feet.
Anyone notice the game over screen from that LttP game from somewhere? ;o
Hint: It's a Disney game.
needs 300 game =D
Since they never moved on my tip yesterday, and I feel it's newsworthy (and frankly very surprised I didn't read it on Kotaku)...
Intel bought Offset Software, makers of the Project Offset engine
[gamasutra.com]
If that's the 'Game Over' screen, I can only imagine what the 'Congrats you Won!' Screen is like.
@Sentientv2: That is pretty newsworthy actually, thanks for the information.
surely the titanic gameover is inevitable?
What amaze me is the graphics they were able do to with the NES power... look good, even for chinese rip-off games
Pretty Awesome.
@Omata: Alladin? that's the only Disney franchise I could think that would have a Scimitar in it.
@PeterQC:

Damnit, look at that, SNES graphics on a NES....
@MrSoursop:
That must be the win screen.
Well, I aways did think Legolas looked like Andy Bogard. So the crossover isn't too shocking. Middle Earth chain combos FTW.
@PriorMarcus: I'm glad I don't have to feel like I'm taking crazy pills. I guess I just don't have the magic formula for my tips@kotaku.com emails getting in front of someone's face.
The Chinese... what haven't they bootlegged? Or better yet, what won't they bootleg?
Makes me wonder why I'm not bootlegging shit. It's in my blood, but then again, so is pasta.
@Trowble (XBL/PSN): Vanity purses, they'll never think of it.
Dear sweet mother of god. They ported WINDOWS 2000 to FAMICOM.
Well, ok, it may just be solitaire and a few other things to make it LOOK like Windows, but according to them it's FRIGGIN WINDOWS 2000! Made by Bravesoft, apparently.
I approve of this article just for Titanic's game over screen. The Mario graphics are pretty impressive imo.
They have fake eggs in China. No joke. I hear it tastes pretty good, however.
is it me, or does Mario actually look pretty good?
@Iamtehawesome: No, Mario looks pretty great
@Erwin: Glorious
@Furious_Liver: Even better! Vanity watches!
Dunno if you guys saw it on the site, but by far the best one is Windows 2000 for NES.
@jeccaneko: I don't know... "The Hacker" is pretty badass. It has Keanu Reeves with a ponytail.
[www.geocities.jp]
Wish they were in English so I could play some of the RPGs.
wow these are awesome. They should be working on newer stuff like GBA or something
@toneroni: True.
They seem very resourceful. Give 'em a legitimate SDK, a few artists to work on ORIGINAL art, and they might be able to crank out some half decent games!
@toneroni:
They should, but the keep making famicom/nes clones by the boatload. The have them that look like ps1, snes and even xboxes. I saw one at amvets that looked like a laptop.
I'd be really impressed if they made a Guitar Hero game.
did anyone see Family Kid?
@Guizzy: I agree. Maybe one day they will. Can't blame them for using pre-existing IP though, it's the only way they'll get any recognition.
That and China hasn't quite grasped the concept of not ripping off other stuff.
@Aethyr: Actually, that's the whole game. It's over in two minutes.
Screw all those games, just tell me where I can buy a GB Boy haha
I want roms for all of these1!
The best one is Top Fighters 2005. A fighting game with Ryu, Gohan from DBZ, Muhammed Ali, Michael Jordan, and Antoine Walker. It even has a screenshot of Muhammed Ali knocking out Antoine Walker. Best. Game. Ever.
Wow I want that LotR fighter! Now if only they would make a Star Wars fighter..... oh wait.
Win2000 is the best! But also great how the Dead or Alive-game turns out to be a run-of-the-mill strip-MahJong-game that has nothing to do with DoA except having Kasumi on the cartridge. And too bad they couldn't test the NES version of DDR, because you need the special controller for this (wonder how that looks like...). Especially considering the staggering three song soundtrack.
wow thats some crazy stuff. Im very surprised how good they look for NES games.
That LotR fighter better have combo breakers, or Legolas is invincible.
