Destination PlayStation Round Up. Word out of Scottsdale, Arizona this morning brings all sorts of good news. According to sources at the retailer-only conference, we finally have domestic ship dates for Metal Gear Solid 4 and the DualShock 3 as well as info on a new PSP bundle. But is that all we can expect? And when is SCEA going to make this stuff official? Nope and hopefully soon, respectively.

Sony dominated HARD today.
It's still going to be hard for me to justify buying a system for one game.
Sony needed a good year, and they're definitely having one so far. My only complaint is the DS3 price -- and only in the sense that I just should have imported one instead of waiting.
@KingDavid73:
I mean the PS3. I don't care about God of War and I used to have a PSP... not really impressed.
so why do a "roundup" when the presentation isn't over (or is it?), not to be a smartass, just wondering.
I just want to know if the thing is over with or not.
@KingDavid73: Snake, please convince King David...Snake? SNAAAAAAKE!
I just wish they'd stop emblazoning the psp with stupid crap I don't care about. I'd have bought one by now. Bah.
Hey kids, do you know about the day that the Xbox360 lost a leg and two fingers?
lol I had to :P
@NotAZombie:
err. They did? We already knew MGS4 was coming out around that time, the DS3 should have come out along with PS3, and yeah the PSP thing is cool, but not that big a deal.
@KingDavid73:
luckily ps3 has more than one game...
It's spelled Scottsdale :D
It's wierd having something from where I live turn up on Kotaku. I almost felt as if nothing video game related (the business aspect) happened here. Guess I was wrong.
I should go crash the conference.
They dominated hard? The only thing we hadn't heard of was the red psp.
@VileMethoD:
lucky bastard, you sure should.
Hey, I live in Scottsdale/Paradise Valley. =) Wish I could have participated in the afformentioned conference.
@djbrandon:
you should get some binoculars and spy for us, with a laptop on your...uh, lap
It is official:

This so-called "round up" is going on in Scottsdale? How did I not know about this, it's only 15 miles away from me! I wonder if I could sneak in....
I mean, it's Playstation, how good could their security be??
@heydanbud:
ah, but so did the Virtual Boy.
@heydanbud: Name one thing another company did today. How is the MGS4 release date not f-in huge? (I'm not a Sony fanboy, I'm just saying they did good today.)
It's about time Sony got their priorities straight. It took them long enough to if you ask me. 2 years after the initial release of the console and we're finally getting a release date for MGS4 (Which was promised by Kojima by no later than sometime 2007), and the Dualshock 3 controller which should have been released just months after launch in my opinion. Personally I dig the whole motion sensor technology and innovation, but when you're playing a FPS, I'm sure at least 1 person will agree with me, you just have to rely on that vibration for mere survival. Anyway, right on Sony, lets hope this fall you kick some ass right alongside of the 360.
I think I'll buy the PS3, in a year or two. Then it'll be ready.
@El-Suave: Yeah our backend just went down. So the update is taking a bit to get up.
Sorry but bear with us.
Whoah there!
"As has been announced previously, MGS4 will include a Metal Gear Online "Starter Pack." If you can't wait to try out MGS4, the good news is you don't have to much longer. Those who pre-order the game will be guaranteed access to a multiplayer beta test for Metal Gear Online scheduled for late April."
Cool!
What the hell? Only a few miles from this plethora of news. Nice to see something big and gaming related come here, sucks I am not allowed to be there.
Me too. I could hop on a freeway and be in Scottsdale in about 10 to 15 minutes. Thank ADOT for the intuitive Phoenix freeway system.
I think I'm about to have an orgasm with all of this great news. I can't wait to test MGO!
I am excited to experience MGS IV, the videos released thus far look extraordinary. The fact that it is being released in June (a notoriously slow gaming month) is another boon.
