Well it's not Still Alive time yet, but next week's Rock Band DLC is pretty damn sweet, especially for anyone who really enjoys alternating between singing and screaming. It's Nine Inch Nails week! The following tracks will be available for purchase next week:
Nine Inch Nails - "March of the Pigs" (master)
Nine Inch Nails - "The Collector" (master)
Nine Inch Nails - "The Perfect Drug" (master)
I can't wait to get my hands on some "March of the Pigs" drumming. Been practicing on my car's dashboard for years!
DLC week: Feb 26th [Rock Band Forums - Thanks Smidget!]

god...why do I have guitar hero 3....
Wait, what? These were already listed as part of the March dlc. Very interesting.
Awesome. But we need better NIN songs than this! More songs from The Fragile and Year Zero!
March of the Pigs!!!! Ooooooohhhh, man!
March of the Pigs is gonna be awesome for every instrument, I can't wait to play this with room full of friends!
Now doesn't it make you feel better?
welcome! Though I'm not a huge NIN fan, the songs sound.. interesting for drums. Maybe I'll wait to see a youtube vid of them :p Just scared they might be repetitive.
@EggmaniMN: Hey he's right, whats the deal? O but wait harmonix did say the dates might change so I guess all is fine. I hope the metal pack gets moved up this month also, not the thrash pack I mean. Also the Nirvana album and the Rolling Stones hopefully are in store for us early
You know what else would be really great for the singing/screaming crowd?
At the Drive-in. Please :3
But I digress, I'm definitely buying this pack. Can't wait to play March of Pigs.
I just bought El Scorcho last night. I'll definitely be buying this pack and I hope they release a Pixies pack soon [crosses fingers].
Awesome Perfect Drug, gimme Closer too and I'd be very happy
Yay, something new that doesn't have anything to do with the Ramones, Weezer, the Clash, or the Police!
Now, uh...how 'bout those full albums?
FINALLY! Been waiting for these, oh man March of the Pigs is gonna be so fun to play!
They should release a combo pack with Hurt by NIN and Hurt performed by Johnny Cash.
That would rock. ^_^
One thing I don't understand with the Rock Band tracks, is even though they have an entire gothic section for clothes, there is no gothic music. Some Bauhaus, or Sisters of Mercy, or even The Cure would be great.
First week I'm not buying a song.
Oh my god! My life is complete. Art is Resistance.
I think Somewhat Damaged would be a pretty cool on bass.
@cristiana: Agreed. Or maybe some Throbbing Gristle and Skinny Puppy.
I want some Bryan Adams. Yeah I said it. You wanna fight about it.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: You suck. Buy it!!!
@oblivionatm: That was a convincing argument for trying to get me to buy songs from a band I don't like.
I NEED to get Rock Band. Stupid limited finances.
@DrakeLake: Agreed on At the Drive-In.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: I have to whole heartidly agree! Hes certainly swayed me into buying these song(!)
@HurricaneDave: Hey, don't feel bad, I want Manfred Mann.
Just checked out these songs on YouTube...absolute shit IMO. Unlistenable garbage.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: come on. i didn't brag about not buying the oasis tracks... oh wait, maybe i did.
@Len Bias Cocaine Surplus: I didn't ask if you liked them. I said buy "it!!" and that you sucked if you don't. It's for your own good, but if you don't wanna listen it's your loss.
"I can't wait to get my hands on some "March of the Pigs" drumming. Been practicing on my car's dashboard for years!"
my thoughts exactly. I can't wait.
@Impul5se: I get very excited when I type!!!
@Mycool: (and to everyone else), why not post YOUR favorite band when bad mouthing mine...
Two words: FUCK YEAH!
=)
March of the pigs - 2 thumbs (way) up.
The Collector - Sure, why not. Wouldn't have been my pick off of w/Teeth for RB, but it works. (Only might have been a good choice)
Perfect drug - Um... no piano in rock band? What the hell are you going to do with the outro? (I know the piano is way overemphasized in my head, but still! :-P)
Personally, I don't know how you can do NIN without doing Closer, but I don't know how well it would translate to Rock band.
Are the songs uncensored in RB? I know they cut them all out in GH. If they are censored, then I guess that is how you leave Closer off the list!
The Perfect Drug is by far the best NIN song ever!
@awwyeadatsright: it will for sure be the most unique drum beat for a song on rock band, i'm excited.
How do they handle the keyboards? All of those songs have at least some keys/piano in them.
(I've never played Rock Band, so please forgive me if this is a completely stupid question.)
@Tarv: from wikipedia:
"March of the Pigs" has one of the most unusual meters of any song to enjoy popular radio play, alternating three bars of 7/8 time with one bar of 4/4 time (in effect, a 29/8 time signature). The song has a BPM rate of 269.
HELL. YES.
Holy fuck, that's the best announcement I've heard yet for Rock Band. Drumming at the end of Perfecr Drug is great. Gonna have to get RB soon now!
FUCK YES! I was expecting the rumored Mid-March.
This is one huge reason I bought Rock Band last weekend!
I was just going to bring up "March of the Pigs" odd time signature(s). But if anyone can make 7/8 work on the radio, it's Trent (it used to be Rush, like, every other song...or maybe EVERY song).
The full-court press in on the Guitar Hero franchise now.
Oh and please let Blur - Beetlebum be released in March :)
@Mycool:
Wow....I think thats the first time I've ever heard any of Trent's work referred to as garbage. I'd be curious as to why you believe so, when I consider his older stuff to be works of art, up through the fragile, and skipping with teeth and including year zero. What don't you like about NIN/reznor? You have to give the man credit for pretty much doing all of his own recording and song writing, and trying to push the sonic envelope.
Maybe its because I grew up in that era and his music is linked with my angsty teenaged past, but he will always be one of my favorite musicians. Now we just need some Tool.
:( wish i had money. 20 mspoints and saving for a tv = the suck
March!!
@spinal77:
Honestly, I think we should tar and feather mycool but...to each his own. perhaps he thinks FalloutBoy is the best music ever.
And yes, now all we need is tool. Hell, I'd settle for A Perfect Circle.
@awwyeadatsright:
Cliffs of Dover (GH3) has no distinct time signature.
YYZ (GH2) starts by playing morse code in 10/8.
But yeah, not arguing GH vs RB. If anything it sounds like it's time for me to pick up RB as soon as they release a guitar-only PS3 version.
@manjikengo:
IMHO, A Perfect Circle would not be settling ;) Mer de Noms ranks as one of my favorite albums of all time...
@zemm:
I can't wait to recreate the music video :D
+ Watch video
@spinal77: >.>;
Don't get me wrong. I like APC but I'd prefer a Tool pack.
Not that it's the best NIN song, but "We're In This Together Now" would be perfect for Rock Band.
@Del Deadeyes:
Throbbing Gristle and Skinny Puppy? Getting a little out there aren't we? Maybe a cEvin Key retrospective.
Fun fact: I used the Killing Game from Last Rights for a high school project where we had to analyze the meaning of a song. No one in that class ever looked me in the eye again.
As for the NIN songs, they shouldn't be that hard. Just press play on the drum machine. Haha.
Only one person mentioned the obvious. These songs WERE scheduled to come out mid-march. So what's with the switch? Something brewing at Harmonix?
Anybody realize this inconsistency?
meh i just wanted still alive =(
