I will probably go with the regular edition. I never actually watch the bonus content anyway. Except for the Halo 2 one when I was bored while being home sick.

I had the limited edition for the first one, and if I get the sequel I will get the limited edition for that too.

I will get the original flavor cause most of the time limited ones are just pricey letdowns.

I'm a sucker for Limited Editions, blame people like me for these sort of things.

I love Gears but unless there's something interesting in the box I will get the regular edition since I don't sell my games and I don't hang them on a wall to show people (so don't care if it's lim. edition or not).

I got the limited edition of the first Gears and wasn't disappointed. History will probably repeat itself here.

I like the Limited Editions. An extra $10 for the fancy metal case and a bonus disc is worth it to me. I only get the LE for the games I'm really hyped up for though.

I'm a sucker for limited editions, but not sure if I'll get this one. I got the LE of the first Gears but, whilst the art book was nice, I've never watched the bonus disc, and on top of that the little cardboard sleeve holding the disc was hardly top of the line...

@dhlt25: The Bioshock LE was a nice example of making a Limited Edition worthwhile. Unfortunately my Big Daddy came broken, like a lot of folks', but it was a nice idea.

I usually just mention the preorder list and smash bros to wii owners.

When someone says they want to preorder it, if a LE is available i ask if they want that one after telling them how much it is.

I'll take the Limited Edition, but I actually like look of the red case better. Hopefully these will change since it looks just like the original's box art. Let's get creative...

I hope this game is better than the first. The first had some good parts. Definitely good. But I want Gears 2 to knock my socks off, and it's gonna be tough to do! Gears has some of my favorite online multiplayer ever, though, so I don't see how more of that could possibly let me down unless they really half-ass the maps (they won't) or completely change the formula (I suppose they might).

When does the PS3 and Wii version come out?

@baked ham: I think we agreed on this one before, Ham. I feel the same. I liked Gears of War just fine. It was a great way to establish a franchise. It created a rich world with unlimited sequel opportunity. I thought it had it's share of weaknesses, and the skies the limit on what they could a ccomplish with a sequel.

I'm not the only one who's fond of the black & white look of the skull & cog am I? I think it looks pretty sexy.

Holy SHIT. That's really all I can say: Holy SHIT. I had heard the rumors about it coming out in November but I honestly blew them off as wishful thinking- not even a leaked screen shot- not even an admitted 'we're making it' from Epic...

I'm freaking floored. I will be putting money down on any Edition they want to put out- Gears was one of the best Xbox experiences I've ever had- not even a milisecond of thought would go through my mind about putting this at the top of my 'MUST HAVE' list.

Gears of War was a great game. Why so many haters?

Short? yes, but sweet. no?

4 on 4 was fine. why does it always have to be 16 on
16? doesnt the heroic map pack for halo suck because of that very notion?

Story was vague, but thats what made it so unpretencious. Nobody ever complained that the story for games like Contra was weak.

My money is on Gears 2 being the biggest release of the year.

@B33: Pfft. The Bioshock LE has been one of the best LE's out there.

Ever since I got my first Special edition (Bioshock, if you wanted to know) I developed a liking for special editions.

Of course, what's included and pricing does apply. But £5-£10 more, even just for a movie and a nice case, is good.

I got the special/limited edition of the original... but I don't know that I'd bother with the second unless there's something really out there that they're including with it. The art book was kinda nice, the extras on the second disc were a waste of time and the tin case isn't worth the ten bucks and the extra shelf space it takes up.

Ah well, I'm still all over this game.

Gears of War 3. I CALLED IT MOTHER FUCKERS! I just got off the phone with Cliffy B. and he said the head boss in GOW2 is going to be just as annoying and impossible as the one in GOW. YAY! I can't wait to throw another controller at the wall and punch my wife in the uterus!

I'm preordering both. That's how big a GoW fan I am. =)
