Amazon wants to make shopping for Wii games fun! This Friday, starting at 12:01 AM Pacific time, Amazon will be putting up an unspecified Wii game as their Gold Box Deal of the Day, which will be available all day as long as supplies last. Then at 6 AM and every four hours after that until 10 PM, Amazon will be putting up Lighting Deals - games that are only available at the discounted price for those four hours. Sound like fun? Oh come on, you know you want to check Amazon.com every four hours to see what game they're going to discount. Just wish they wouldn't keep us in suspense. I don't want to wait until 6 PM Friday afternoon to discover that the last bargain Wii game of the day is Ninjabread Man.
5 Wii Game Deals On Friday [Amazon.com - Thanks BtownDesignGuy!]

Comments
Yeah so true, Ninjabread man it is!
Sounds good. Might get a good deal ^_^
are there even 5 Wii games worth playing?
*runs like hell*
I wish .co.uk did this too
@Cell9song: If you ever stop to catch your breath I'll be there to kill you lol
I pretty much have every Wii game that I want, other than Trauma Center. So here's to hopeless hoping that they cut the price even more!
My guess is that it's going to be some Bratz games mixed in with some Horsez games. Or they might pull punches and make it something like Mario Galaxy/Metroid Prime 3. We shall see!
Wonder if they count WiiSports as one game or as 5 cause some A-Holes on amazon sell Wii's with a supposed 16 games or so and all you actually get is WiiSports and WiiPlay
Misleading information FTL!
(Not the post the A-Holes on Amazon)
@Cell9song: Yes, yes there is.
I'm guessing the five games will be:
1. Ninjabread Man
2. Donkey Kong Barrel Blast
3. Carnival Games
4. Boogie
5. Cooking Mama: Cook Off
Yeah watch, Ninjabread Man FTW!
I guess we will see tomorrow, but I hope they actually put up some decent games for sale. I think there will only be a couple great games, and their allocation will be smaller then the crappy games, thus only the lucky few will be able to snatch up the good ones.
It could be No More Heroes...then everyone on Kotaku would buy a copy...if that isn't already the case.
Will most likely consist of a mix of completely worthless titles along with great first party titles that anyone with a Wii already owns.
@Cell9song: Run get to da choppa!!!
@Cell9song:
+ Watch video
@Kyle81:
+ Watch video
All missing now is a Forrest gump video :)
@Cell9song: haha...alas no! [runs like hell, and puts on crash helmet]
It's too bad I already have the best collection of Wii games.
lol I saw this earlier and trolled Amazon in the news thread about it. Trolling on Amazon is fun trolling on Kotaku is NOT! I <3 Kotaku
@Cell9song: it's okay...shit happens
They better be good. I want 1st party games, Amazon.
Personally I hope its:
Zack And Wiki, Trauma Center, Resident Evil 4, No More Heroes and Metroid Prime 3
Considering they just had a Platinum GameCube for $49.99 the other day as the deal of the day, it wouldn't surprise me if they are just trying to clear out stock of Nintendo crap that they will never sell, a la Ninja Breadman.
Thanks for the info. Keeping my eye on amazon now.
@ceilingFANBOY: now with 100% more fanboy: Yep. It's gonna be shit. "Make shopping for Wii games fun!" Yes, because 'fun' is spending ANY amount of money on 99% of non-Nintendo software (like they'd discount Super Paper Mario).
@notakujustraku:
that would be awesome if those games are discounted since I only have MP3 and Z&W
To all the Ninjabread Man haters, I actually worked on this game and I am by no means defending it. I'm just curious as to how many people have actually played it? And also I'd like to let everyone know that a Ninjabread Man 2 has been announced - [217.199.176.105]
P.S. I don't still work there.
In other news, Amazon bought a bunch of Wii games, expecting people to buy non-Nintendo made games. So now they have thousands sitting in a warehouse they need to get rid of quickly.
@PirateGrum: I haven't...but since you have made a confession - how about another?
Tell me the target demographic was kids, 10 and under. Just tell me that. Looking at it, that's what it smacks of, and that's why it won't ever garner any love from this audience.
FWIW - I haven't played the game because I'm not into ninjas....and gingerbread is overrated.
I just picked up No More Heroes at Best Buy with all kinds of coupons and such that made the total come out to $35. I can't really see myself paying much more than $35 for a game right now, so maybe this Amazon deal will work out well for me. So far I have Mario Galaxy ($35) and Zack and Wiki ($32) in addition to NMH in my collection, so I think I'll just have to keep trying to buffer my collection through good deals.
Brawl will be the end of me.
I'm a huge fan of Amazon's gold box and lightning deals. It's like Kmarts old "blue light specials" only without the whole snotty-nosed kids being flung through the air as crazed parents whip them around corners ordeal. I think sometime last week they had Warhawk w/headset for $40. Definately worth checking out.
@Cell9song: of course! Don't be silly.
Theres...Super Mario Galaxy, and...Metroid Prime 3...and....
...and...
*sobs*
Not sure how much it retails for normally, but Zack and Wiki is only $29.99 right now anyway on Amazon. Seems like a pretty good price to me.
To all the new people that aren't used to the gold box deals, go to lightningdeals.com that day to see what all the deals are going to be. There are a few websites that offer the info, but that's the one I go to.
Much easier to do that than having to run to the computer every few hours.
@sadkermit:
Yea that was pretty much the age range. I wasn't in any way saying people here should play it or not and I wasn't saying you shouldn't judge it without playing it I was just honestly curious to see if anyone had actually bought it.
@Raziel66: Thanks for actually being helpful! I checked out the link you posted and found the only video game listed on that "deal of the day" page was Rock Band (360), discounted from 56.99 to 34.99 ($22 savings).
That's roughly 40%.
PLEASE OH GOD, let there be Zelda!
yummy yummy in my tummy.
@StevenRafael: Zelda = pass... Zack and Wiki, If you down own it buy it right now it's already on sale.
I'm thinking there will be one or two titles that really stand out and the others will be some lame third party games. But here's hoping for some awesome deals on some great games!
it's so worth it to check these deals on a daily basis. I got time crisis 4 for 50, katamari for 23, xbox elite controller, play+charge and battery for 43, biggs for 20, eye of judgement for 54, with camera, rock band for 150, call of duty 4 for 40, and many other 10 dollar off deals on many games. AND i found a wii there today!! finally :-) now i'm actually interested in this special upcoming deal
@Irenicus-the one and only: "Horsez 37" here I come!
haven't bought Galaxy yet... maybe it's fate...
I'll buy No More Heroes, even though I don't have a Wii. (I own Galaxy, 3 360 games, and a 360 controller, though I have none of the systems. I don't really do commitment.)
eh. No thanks.
Cruis'n for everyone!
I already buy my Wii Games when they're the deal of the day.
If it's No More Heroes I might get it.
That's about it. Maybe if RE4 could get any cheaper...
@sandwiches: No problem! Like I said, just log on tomorrow morning to see all the deals for the days. Lightningdeals.com saved me a LOT of time at Christmas.
@supercrap: Do you just play the games at friend's houses?
I'm all ready swamped with a back log of games for the Wii, 360, and PC, but I might splurge if they put up some good ones. Work sucks.
1st game is Super Paper Mario for $30, not bad at all.
@multimoog: Lulz @ your prophecy!
Hope the next one is Fire Emblem, but it sounds more like Zelda. Love TP, but have it already.
