God, I miss the '80s. When there were good cartoons like TMNT, GI Joe, Megaman, Pac-Man (yes, there was a pacman cartoon) and the SUper Mario Bros. Super Show.

that VA is in like every bad 90s cartoon there is. he was billy lee in double dragon, ken in the street fighter cartoon, protoman in megaman. thats just off the top of my head. if anyone found the darkstalkers clip amusing, youll love this too:

I liked this cartoon back when it was on. I have no idea why now. The OAV was good though. This site has summaries of every episode of Darkstalkers and other lame cartoons.

Some of the 90's had good cartoons too, like Rocco's Modern Life, Ren and Stimpy (the original), etc. It's just been in the last decades that kid's cartoons have become super crappy.

I thinks its shows like these that make japanese animation so popular. The framing and drawings are just so cheap and awful! Old 80's and 90's animation had great openings though.

I may not be Australian, but somehow that was vaguely offensive. And unintentionally hilarious (however cringe-inducing). And poorly animated. What ever happened to the swimmer. One second Raptor is running to his aid, the he's partying with bikini girls. The the shark has shades. I could go on about the flaws, but it would be a pointless exercise in pedantry.

obviously the shark ate the swimmer.

Raptor stopped running toward him because he saw the guy getting eaten (that couldn't be shown on a kid's cartoon)... So Raptor decided to not dwell on the negative, he would have a sip of his mixed drink to help dull the pain of his contractual obligation to completely embarrass himself with cartoon cliches...

Man, I so remember the Pac-Man cartoon. I used to watch it all the time on USA Network, along with G.I. Joe and Sailor Moon (odd mix of cartoons on the block, eh?). And every time Cartoon Network would play the Christmas in Pac-Land special, I'd watch it and wonder why they don't air the rest of the series.

Glad I'm not the only one who found Adult Party Cartoon to be complete trash. I don't get what went wrong, you had a lot of the original talent, and without the strict censorship Nickelodeon put on the show... Sounded like a recipe for success, but it was a disaster instead...

Hey, Pacman more than made up for his craptacular Saturday morning cartoon with his noble death scene in Futurama.

Okay, all these videos are cheesy awesome. Gotta love those old video game adaptation cartoons, the quality is simply unmatched.

At least this Capcom cartoon adaption didn't promote jilted fire safety by telling the kids watching that elevators are too dangerous to use in a fire but that they should go to the roof.

And that's what killed 99% of cartoons made after the 70's for me... the writing. Old Looney Toons, Johnny Quest, Space Angel, Clutch Cargo, Woody Woodpecker and Tom & Jerry cartoons at least featured intelligent writing and witty lines. GI Joe and the rest seemed to be written by comedy writers hellbent on trying to sound serious.

@Padder: I'm not a big fan of Anime but at least Japanese drawing artists seem to care about facial expressions being coherent from one frame to the other, not to mention the backgrounds and the US 80's and 90's cartoon artists obsession with trying to make drawings anthropomorphic every time.

Check out the guns on the swimming guy. Looks like he could tear that shark in half by flexing. It's like the animators could only draw one body type... improbable.
