This is Vegas? I always thought Vegas was about bright lights, good times, regrettable unions. Not punching and gyrating floosies. Well, punching and floosies do feature, I guess, I just never figured they'd be the only things shown in a trailer for a game based in the city. Then again, seeing as this is a Midway GTA clone, maybe I should have.

THIS IS SP...VEGAS!
what ever happened to 2 days to vegas?
I think I saw some gambling. And some driving, too. Only for a split second though... Bah, musta' just been my imagination.
Good lord, I thought Big Beat was dead :(
That game looks SO cash
San Andreas did it!
How about they slow down those cuts so I don't feel like throwing up a little while I watch it?
Why the hell is Cortana in Vegas?
(at around 17 secs)
"This is a dumbass-game-Vegas" is a more appropriate title.
Midway needs to go crawl in some corner and die after the shit that was Blacksite.
I love this trailer, looks very nice. But I have STILL NO CLUE WHAT THE GAME IS ABOUT? :(
Long Live Big Beat!
Also, for some reason Midway's over-the-top-but-mediocre games always appeal to me.
As a Vegas resident, Im kinda offended. The game straight up looks corny. The lights looked good though.
I'm a sucker for GTA clones. That said, this looks rather shitty.
Maybe they should have released this in the gap between GTA:SA and GTA IV. I doubt anybody is going to choose this over a Rockstar game. Also, does anybody else just change the year on the age verifier? I ask this because obviously they think that thing is working or something. It only works to slow me down from seeing the ad.
this game looks boring!
I'd buy it if there was copious amounts of gambling (with lots of different types of games and various types of poker, not just, ugh, texas hold-em) and casino exploration.
I doubt I'd play the actual game beyond that though.
@MJDeviant: I don't think they actually care if it works. It just covers their asses because you said you were over 18. If you aren't, not their bad.
@cooler_dood: how would you even know? we've seen nothing in terms of gameplay. If it plays anything like saint's row or san andreas, i'd buy it.
It's bad enough it's from Midway but if you go to Ign and read the story it gets worse.
"Your character arrives in Vegas with $50 to his name. After a quick bender, you're off to make connections, crash some parties and build your bank. Unfortunately, this jerk named Preston Boyer is trying to turn Vegas into a family-friendly resort. To stop him, you'll have to complete missions and gigs for the various old-school Vegas factions and revitalize the city. Along the way you'll move from a roach motel up to a penthouse as you collect more money, more allies, and more fast cars."
@Captain Impulse: I'm sure there'll be an E! True Hollywood Story explaining it all shortly.
@Kantwon: So it's basically like GTA with a bad 80s movie "save the orphanage/school/wildlife preserve/whorehouse" plot thrown in for good measure.
That's most definitely not Vegas
@MJDeviant:
I just click on the year parameter and scroll down violently, usually lands somewhere around the 70's.
Also, animations look kinda.. chunky?
uh...that dork is the main character?
Why would I want to be a dork in a game?
It doesn't sound THAT bad... it looks kinda pretty, at least.
@manjikengo: I'm better looking than that guy.
@manjikengo: because gamers are dorks, duh.
@manjikengo: I ask myself that same question every time I see someone playing World of Warcraft.
@manjikengo: Didn't you hear? Dork is the new stud.
(Lord, please let dork be the new stud!)
Why does this look like NARC with a shitty vegas theme?
I think the game looks pretty sweet. The cars looked kick ass too.
Did I just see a car blazing through a practically empty strip? This Is Madness!
Hey, at least that preview showed a bit of style. More than we can say about most things these days.
*grumbles like the old timer he believes he is*
@MJDeviant: Great, so you're a little kid under 17. You shouldn't be playing these games anyways, so your feedback means a whole lot of shit.
I'd pick this over GTA 4 any day. Vegas is the greatest town in the country and a game fully immersing you in it is more than I can ask for.
ugh..
I'd play it if Criss Angel and Lance Burton were Boss and Mid-level Sub-Boss.
@MJDeviant: it's only a coincidence that i was born jan 1 1901
@Luke Plunkett
GTA Clone? So any "sandbox" type game in an urban environment is automatically a GTA clone. Did you even bother to read the game description? Might as well go ahead and say all FPS games are clones of Doom or RPG games are clones of Final Fantasy. Are you a journalist or loony fanyboy? FFS. I expect better.
OK, so why does the main character look like the lead guy in the show "Las Vegas"?
Wouldn't this be a cool crossover where "This is Vegas" and Rainbow 6 Vegas 2 were hosted on the same server and as the rainbow six team you could blow away the losers for playing such an embarrassingly crappy GTA CLONE!!!
GTA CLONE, GTA CLONE GTA CLONE!
Every game was not set in space like Doom was. I mean if they did GTA Call of Duty, Or GTA Mass Effect or even if the people making GTA ripoffs changed the location of where it was taking place it would be considered less of a clone but until then they will always be clones!
This is clearly Madness.
Good god that didn't seem promising or interesting as a concept to me. And the Midway logo sealed it's fate.
Why do I see Logan Keller slacking off.
If this game is what I think it is... it'll be great, and frightening.
Did they mix up GTA style gaming with gambling?
Oh fuck, WTF... anyone here remember the first installment of Leisure Suit Larry?
This will be really bad, or really good.
@Silenthillnight: Yeah, no kidding. I don't think I've ever gotten above 5 mph on the Strip.
@LilBlackDemon: A complete coincidence I'm sure. *cough cough*
Gyrating floozies FTL.
Wonder if it will do any good...hope so, cause I haven't bought a Midway game in forever.
I liked the music.
