Harmonix has announced the week in Rock Band downloadables, bringing a trio of classic tracks to the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 via each platform's service. The trio of tracks, which contain "Complete Control" by the Clash, "Truth Hits Everybody" by the Police and "Teenage Lobotomy" by the Ramones, can be snapped up individually for $1.99 each (or 160 Microsoft Points) or bought bundled for $5.49 (440 Microsoft Points). Not a bad deal, considering they're all master tracks.
Expect the tunes to hit Xbox Live on Wednesday, then a day later on the PlayStation Store. Do want!

a nice selection this time around
Thats a great pack. Now we need some MEGADETH!!
I certainly don't hate classic punk, but... We've had quite a bit of The Clash and The Ramones already. Dont'cha think we oughta have something else once in a while?
I think it'd be sweet if they had a Beatles song pack.
They sure like sticking to the same bands over and over again. These downloads are getting a bit boring. That being said: bring on the Master of Puppets full album download I have been desperately hopeful for!!
@Guizzy: I think they are making it that each band gets three songs each. This makes the ramones and clash at three songs each now
This is fun, but I'd like something a little more engaging....
@Eddy666:
The police will have 5 songs come tomorrow. There goes that theory :P.
@CaptLtrl: Not to mention Message in a Bottle in March.
As for classic punk, how about some Hardcore? I would love to play me some Bad Brains 'I Against I.' Singing that one on expert would be a major feat. Not to mention the guitar and drum parts being insane.
Cornfed Dames please. Thanks.
@CYSPERLING:
Yes! Harmonix, if you are reading this blog: Bad Brains DLC! Please?
I'm tired of the same bands that I only kinda like showing up every week.
I'll be passing on this, big time.
Count me in for the Police track. One of my favorites.
Same bands = fail.
Wow. I can't believe what the internet is doing to my diction.
Nonetheless, I would like a bit more variety. Not that I don't love the consistent, weekly updates.
Pass on these tracks. Im getting a bit tired of the same old bands. And I definetly hope this is the last track by the police they are putting out there.. (other than the one confirmed for march).
How about some more alternative rock. more contemporary stuff. Stuff that came out this millenium. And im not talking about fall out boy and the all american rejects, im talking about Muse, Audioslave and The arctic monkeys
My DLC request is so much less likely than all of yours: UVERworld's Bugright album. Requiring the singer to speak Japanese kinda kills the marketability of the download.
So this would be the fourth Police song put up as DLC, why didn't they just do a Police album download?
Anyways, where has the variety been in these DLC updates? Most of the stuff we get is just more stuff from bands that are already in the game, where are some new bands?
Getting!
Rock Band should have in game advertising and free songs. It'd be the new Mtv.
How about getting some REAL music for DLC!? Some Chili Peppers? Some U2 maybe? Arctic Monkeys? A little Tragically Hip for us Canadians? Obviously Hendrix would be amazing!
what a suckfest. how bout some classic metal plz: AC/DC, Dio, Motley Crue, Megadeth, Ozzy, Queensryche, etc.
atleast i get to save my points this week...
Dude, I am snapping this content up. Can't get enough Ramones or the Clash. The Police aren't bad either. :)
Let's hope 'Teenage Lobotomy' is more fun on guitar than 'Rockaway Beach' was...
Love, love, love the Clash and the Ramones..BUT. There's a world of punk and punk-inspired music equally as engaging as this classic, first-wave punk fare. As some have mentioned in this talkback, hardcore punk would be a welcome addition to the library of content already offered. Hell, Harmonix need look no further than their own backdoor: Boston. The city saw the rise of some of the penultimate hardcore acts of the early 80s.
COMPLETE CONTROL F*** YEAH!!!
@Hyperlite: Agree for all of those, Some ARctic would be great :)
I agree with xvcowboyvx I'd kill for some Gorilla Biscuits or other hardcore act. I know people will hate me but I'd be way into Earth Crisis or other 90's hardcore acts.
@Hyperlite: Did you just call U2 "real music"? lolz. Pass on this, Incubus or Killswitch Engage pack plz.
@Hyperlite:
You bash on those but then mention U2?
ROFL!
K!
I can't bring myself to buy these. Not a big Ramones or Clash guy, and I don't really need the Police song THAT bad.
*Waits for Megadeth/Dethklok/Pink Floyd/Smiths/Dire Straits/Focus/Soundgarden pack*
@Hyperlite: How exactly are the Clash, the Ramones, and the Police not "real" music?
Mathematics by Candiria plz.
Hey the Police awesome! My father would freak out too over this since he used to be a big fan also when I was growing up and would listen to it in the car as he drove me to school as a kid.
Am I the only one that thinks we need some more Journey and Styx?
@Doomstink:
I totally agree with you. I know it may be due to licensing issues and royalties, but dammit Harmonix, I want to play me some more '90s alternative and rock!
Bring on some Everclear, Third Eye Blind, Our Lady Peace, Live, Green Day, 311, Incubus, Sublime, The Offspring, Bush, Bloodhound Gang, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Reel Big Fish!
Wednesday this week for some reason? Usually Tuesday on live.
Bands I want in Rcokband:
Falkenbach
Forefather
Luca Turili
Haggard
Almora
(Real Truth-Metal, not the baby pop-lie-metal that most people like, or that is in most of these american music games)
I'd also like...
Interpol
Rilo Kiley
and God Knows from the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
Lord knows that'd never happen, the latter one, but man, that song is made for Rock Band.
So so so so awesome. "Complete Control" is a song I never would've expected---woulda figured songs from Combat Rock and London Calling would be coming out way before the first album. And while it's true that there's been plenty of Ramones, the sheer fun of convincing everyone in the "band" to shout LOBOT-O-MY will more than make up for it.
As for The Police---yeah, it's a lot, but it's hard to begrudge songs that let the bassist get something compllicated to play.
Surprised no one had said it but where are the albums? 'Who's Next' can't come soon enough.
sigh... for the love of.... ugh.. For The LOve of GOD.... Harmonix...
P L E A S E - Stop suffocating us with bands we ALREADY HAVE!!
omg, the day we get a different band out of RB's limited library w/ an original and great song- be the day hell freaze over..
But...... I will buy them never the less.... because they are indeed great songs and my fav. bands of all time....
god i hate myself...
The Mars Volta would be epic awesomeness.
I'll save my points for another week.
Best Clash song AND Ramones song ever for a music game? Sign me up!
@XvCowboyvX: Bosstones! I can only imagine all four people in my band shouting, "I'm a very happy VERY HAPPY GUY!" in my dreams right now.
Can we PLEASE get the full albums sometimes soon? I think we've been teased long enough!
And no more Ramones or Police!
Very excited for Complete Control. Can we get Janie Jones? Train in Vain? Rock the Casbah? Police and Thieves?
These interest me a hell of a lot more than Oasis, but we definitely need more variety, rather than more songs from the same bands. I mean, how many freaking bands are there out there? Dozens, at least, right?
I love a lot of these bands, but they really need to bump up the variety. There are so many great bands out there to pick from. It makes you wonder if they are having problems getting the licenses to other artists, or if they are just completely ignoring them...
I just want something NEW.
Pass. If they are going keep giving us the same bands couldn't we get some more David Bowie?
I'm so tired of the Police. Give me something different. That will be like six Police songs by the end of March...
I'm definitely going to get this one, I love all three bands. I agree with some of you guys that they need to get some different punk bands in there. I don't think hardcore would be all that fun (the guitar would be so boring), but there are plenty of other good punk bands out there. What they really need to do is put some older music in, 50s and 60s stuff. Its called Rock Band put some of the guys that started rock in it.
Every time one of these come out I cry on the inside knowing I'll have to shell out 85 bucks (and rising) to get everything I don't already possess.
Napoleon says - Phoenix
please oh please. I want more than just classics.
I wish they would bring back the preview option so we can listen to parts of these songs before you buy them. You could get a taste of something you like and actually buy it instead of not buying it at all because you never heard it before and don't want to buy a song and it end up sucking for you.
I know, I know, you can go online and go to youtube for instance and find what they sound like, but that's a lot more work than someone wants to do
