The official Japanese Street Fighter IV development blog teases that this Friday—Japan Time, that is—fighting fans will get their first look at a new addition to the game's roster. The only officially revealed characters guaranteed to throw down at this point are Ryu, Ken and Crimson Viper, with the game's producer hinting heavily that Dhalsim, Chun-Li and Akuma will make appearances.
With a good portion of the Street Fighter II roster expected to return, we're certainly looking forward to who will show up on the official site on February 8th, as well as the game's appearance at the AOU arcade show happening this month.

The one on the left looks like cammy. Red hat, green clothes, blonde hair.

Arcades are dead and won't be coming back where I live. Every arcade in all the 6 large local malls are gone and the ones in the suburbs are gone as well. The only one left is GAMEWORKS in Seattle and couple machines in a local bowling alley.

Just from the color scheme (crimson, black, and muscle), I'm going to hazard a guess and say Akuma. It just looks like him, with the camera down below looking up at him.

No way, the guy on the right is Ryu. His attire looks white and looks to be sporting his trademark red band. Looks as if the guy on the left is ...someone I have no clue.
@Grumps: Arcades are doomed to be rare or nonexistant. I think the Lan Party (for PCs) and multi screen play on a HDTV (for consoles) kind of filled that hole. Not to mention the series of tubes...
Am I the only one who doesn't care much about that new SF? I can't see this going anywhere.
Guilty Gear owns the 2D fighting genre and totally dominates in popularity in arcades all over Japan (at least last time I visited). And VF owns the "true" 3D fighting genre.
So this is like Tekken Tag with Capcom guys?
I think only hardcore fans of the SF series will enjoy that one.
@Kirbytheslayer: Thinks AAA is a great term: you'd be asking for a crazy unbakanced game. like the sfII i had for dreamcast, where every character was ryu with slightly different moves.

@Kaneda: I REALLY don't like they way they made them look. They all have the physique of the Incredible Hulk. I thought only a few guys like Blanka were super big and buff? Ken and Ryu just look silly jumping all around being THAT thick and dense.
Maybe it'll play really well, who knows?
Left is Cammy for sure. Squint a bit at the small version and it looks like a shot of her back, with her looking back at the camera and pigtails swinging. Character on the right is definitely dark of skin, but I don't think its Gouki. More likely Balrog or Dhalsim.
The picture on the SF site looks like either Cammy or Blanka and the one on the right looks like Volcano Rosso.
Guile is awesome. I hope he is in the game.

Crimson viper ??, that is one of the lamest names ever present in a fighting game, and considering there are a lot of bad names in this type of games.
@ExistentialEgg: For sure! It almost seems Capcom is making this for especially for North America. It would explain the ruggedness (is that a word?) of the characters, and also why they don't seem to fear the competition they have in arcades in Japan.

Well now that brawl has nothing left to conceal, (even the game's file dump has been made available online as well... [www.destructoid.com]) It's street fighters time to shine (or play catch up). With Brawl out there who needs this game anyway? Honestly!
Left is Cammy, right looks kinda like Sagat. Remember he had wraps around his fists which would explain the white blocks. Could also be Vega (Claw), if they're revealing Cammy may as well reveal the one character who had a pretty large role in her storyline in the Alpha series.
Also I believe Honda and Gief will be in the game, but can't remember where I read it. If this is true than probably no Mike Haggar whom I wanted over Gief.
SF IV looks like a slow motion train wreck to me.

The pic at the link, if I were to guess, the left half of it looks like it could be Cammy (Which would rock, if so I hope her strong punch outfit is in it.) though the other one looks like a close-up headshot of Chun Li.

Am I the only person more excited about the HD Remix than IV? Any Street Fighter that lacks Ryu boner gets bonus points from me.

If this news was pointed towards North American SF players it's probably Guile but otherwise probably other foreign character's like Chun-li or....even Blanka

Shame M.Bison is dead. I would love to play for him in a game that uses Ink and Wash painting style.

It's Dhalsim and the Chunster. Profile shots for both. People are getting their hopes up and they're going to be disappointed. Still, I guess it is a bit stink to make this seem like a new announcement when it's obviously just two characters we already know are in the game.

Cammy and Zangief?
There is an interview where the 1up guys spy the roster in the game main menu. They see the whole stf2 cast as playable. Obviously there will be new characters. But man, if it is really 50 percent done, wow I cant wait to play it. I have cut off spending on new games of any kind except this one. This is the only game getting my money for the next two years.
