Hot on the heels of the Star Ocean PSP remake comes this next chapter in the story. Dubbed Star Ocean: Second Evolution, the RPG once again features animation by famed Japanese animation studio Production I.G., who handled duties on the last PSP incarnation. The game drops April 2nd in Japan and is priced at 5,040 yen (US $47). No word on a Western release.

ah, i'm still waiting for the US release ;( Unless I start learning another language i'll just have to wait.
They HAVE to at least give us the first game.
Then again, we were expecting to get Star Ocean: Blue Sphere for the Game Boy Color, but they completely screwed us on that one, too.
I want both of these titles, but I expect none.
Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Air slash. Well, that's somewhere around 80 points.
Star Ocean 2... The best Star Ocean of all times.
Ok, we'll see Star Ocean 4 too :p
Is this a remake of The Second Story?
@Elixir: Tear into pieces! Tear into pieces! Tear into pieces! Yeah, I hope they get new voice work if they release it here.
the second was amazing
@Slick-Rick: This is a remake of the first game to work much more like the second game, graphically and game play vise.
Well... looks like I'm getting a PSP.
They should also release the original here in North America. IMO it rivals Second Story for greatness.
This is a remake of second story and I wish the release this stateside.
Ports. Ports. Ports... *sigh* They'll only keep making them because we keep buying them. ;_;
@MugiMugi: Actually, this is the remake of the second game. The first game was remade and called First Departure.
Looks pretty cool, but I'm still not getting a PSP. Needs more than just PlayStation ports.
@catsoup: There are games that aren't ports for PSP. Either way, I didn't like Second Story too much compared to 1 or 3 but I'll give this one a try since they did a good job on First Departure.
Remakes of older games like this are great for me because of there has been enough time to try upgrade, and retool the title. I would take this for my PSP over a PS2 port any day of the week. Hell I wish they remade this for the PS3 or 360 but with full anime style graphics like eternal sonata.
OMG!!! 2nd story me loves!!!! Gimme Gimme please!!! Fanboy freaking out here!!!
Yeah, okay I'm done. But I really really want this to be ported... Preferably with new voice acting. Actually, just stick in the Japanese voices to save money and I'd be fine. I got so sick of Ripper Blast every time I used it... And all you veterans know just how useful that was once you used it like 300 400 times or whatever amount it took to master.
I am a big star ocean fan so I cant wait for this one and for star ocean 4 for the ps3.
Please don't take out Chisato's Bloody Armor/Weird Slayer trick! And on that note, I hope they buff the mages this time around. Compared to everyone with Killer moves, they couldn't keep up the damage per second.
Whoa, the art sucks. Why do they all look like little kids? Did they change the ages for the US release? I thought Claude was 19 and Rena 17...
Star Ocean till the end of time FTW!!!
This is one of the few PSone RPGs I've never played. I hope they bring it to the states or just make an English version to be imported.
@SirNirian:
...Nope. 2nd one FTW!
From the looks of it, Square Enix is designing this game rather than Tri Ace...I'm not so sure if I want another Square Enix remake.
Come to think of it, I don't want a Tri Ace remake either, I want them to keep making new games! I hope this is done without taking too much of their time.
Crawd has advanced forward.
10 seconds...
Looks like I'll be popular with the ladies again!
argh, me wants! Never got to finish Second Story one the PS1 because of a evil relative who looted my game.
Funny, I've been replaying Till the End of Time for a few weeks now.
Great I'll buy it when they release it(in Japan that is)
