Why isn't the youtube video working?
Video is already no longer available.
lol the video makers are not interested in internet fame :D
How about that absence of video, Kotaku?
I hope they can find a mirror.
Oh noez. D: The video is down!
My heart is broken, yet my eyes thank me! ;D
Video not available! Oh noes!
I think I found it...
[www.youtube.com]
I can't see the vid cap'n, looks like we lost another one ta davy jones
Balltease!
I have to say, it's quite good for a fan made piece. I don't know what they're saying, but it sure brought back good DBZ memories.
If anyone's wondering, I did a search for
"実写版ドラゴンボールZ ~超激闘大決戦!宇宙一はオレだ!"
in youtube and found it. Yay! for copy and paste!
Good call EMUC64.
@emuc64: Excellent work!
The sad thing is this video will be 10 times better than the movie they are making now.
It wasnt as bad as I expected.
But.. but.. Did Goku just Instant Translocate? But he doesn't learn that until the Cell saga. :O
@emuc64:
Awesome find.
Now concerning the video, someone get these guys professional costume designers, make up artists, and the voice actors of the english dub of DBZ NAO!! and someone fire those guys in hollywood too as these fricking NAILED the concept of a live action DBZ movie!
+ Little bit of acting skillz
+ Budget
+ Good actorz
= Epic win ;o
Also since I can't understand the language can someone tell me why Goku allowed Freiza to destroy the world?
I want that video on Blu-Ray!!
Shut up about your Dragonball movie already.
Rofl, I love when Frieza first hits him.
Japanese is a cool language. It makes things badass.
@Fugs:
I got your shut up right here, pal.
Wow this is actually really cool. If a lot more money and time was given to these guys a decent adaption could be made.
@Brian Ashcraft: The hammer of ban is quick and just.
You should be ashamed for liking that sort of stuff. Crap, you should be ashamed for showing it to others.
It's a bit unfair trash the hollywood version before we even see an inkling of footage on it. Don't be a Cooper Lawrence.
@mkygod: If the set pictures and video with the guy pretending to act the part of Goku are any indication, believe me when I say that Hollywood's Dragonball movie will be lower than fly doodie.
Oh, and the above video is made of much, much win and awesome.
Pretty cool, considering the budget they must of had. The first few minutes were lame as hell though.
Oh...my God...
I totally dig Freezas oversized ducky feet.
well, at least it stays true to the show, which is not so good if you ask me. the infinite screaming. the unbearable long pauses, bad acting :P
can't be worse than the upcoming dragonball film though ;)
That was so bad it turned into some kind of perverted awesomeness. I can't stop watching it. Freeza's flappy tail is disturbing for some reason.
Epic and awesome, and I'm not even a fan of DBZ, though I never really watched it/gave it a chance. These guys could do pretty well with a better budget and generally more opportunity.
Good job.
Wow i hated that hahaha
It's awesome how this is/will be at least 400x greater than what Hollywood puts out ^^
WoW!
Give them
+Budget
+Bit more acting skills
+English Sub
And wow we have a top made DBz MOVIE!!
This must be much better than the Hollywood one!
I'still can't watch the video because It'll probably look bad to my boss and get my fired of probably the best job I'll ever get. BUT I have another vid for you to munch.
[www.youtube.com]
And it even has English Subs :)
Look... I don't want Dragon Ball Z movie to look like the Power Ranger...
Enough with the lame movies.
@EnixXIII: Agreed. This was awesome.
Whoa, that was so lame. What makes it better than the Hollywood version? You can't compare this fan-made cheesefest to a movie that does not exist yet. Okay, it's probably much more like the anime and closer to the whole DBZ lore. But guess what - live action and animated movies are like different languages and one does not translate to the other without adjustments. People don't have anime hair, they don't talk and act like a typical anime character, a lot of stuff that works in an anime would stand out in a regular movie as odd or completely out of place. That's why Bay's Transformers don't look like toys from the 80's and that's why DBZ movie will star people without spiky hair.
So, um, what's with all the Dragonball news articles on Kotaku? I know there have been a lot of games made from the series... but still.
i still don't get why people on hate on people who like Dragonball Z; it's all a matter of preference. Cheesy but fun; similar to old He-man cartoons or Thundercats for that matter.
I think alot of people, including myself think the movie is going to suck based on many things including:
- the fact that a large portion of the cast (that includes extras) are not asian
- the set doesn't look like they spent a great deal of time or money to recreate the show
- in general, it looks like they are trying to make it look low budget when in actuality it should be high budget with tongue placed firmly in cheek.....that's if they want to get the loyal fans to pay $10 to see it.
That was seriously not bad at all for what they had to work with.
@ElPadre: actually....there are plenty of people in real life with spikey hair.
i don't know if you've ever been to the East Coast but we have this group of guys called "Guidos" and they spike up their hair all of the time. You may have seen them on a show called "Growing up Gotti"
lol
@zoz: Goku learned it (the instant teleportation) after the Namek battle with Freeza. He was able to use a ship and get somewhere else in the universe and learn it from the race of people he stayed with. He then came back to earth like RIGHT after future Trunks killed Freeza and his father.
Overall, I thought it was pretty good. They had several good ideas--all that was needed was better acting on some fronts, better poses/movement, and just a little work overall... to be something more than a youtube video. Someone else said that we're not being fair to the hollywood version so I say wait for that before we make any direct comparisons or something. This was pretty cool in itself.
It's over 9000!!!!!
@dipic: Dont like it, dont click on it.
This is a BLOG you know.
That was pretty good.
That was EPIC!
When was the last time I saw acting that bad?
When Goku confronts Freeza, he says, "Why did you come here, Freeza?" And Freeza says, "For some reason or other, I just don't like the Saiyins. I'll kill you and become number one in the universe." That's about as witty as the dialog gets. I'm sure it would sound cooler if it were in a language I didn't understand.
Still, this is probably better than the Hollywood Dragonball movie will turn out.
Man and I thought that Brawl intro was awesome. And during that final part when they all just scream at the top of their lungs? I just came with them.
*reads a few comments*Man, kotaku sure needs some commentor clean-up.
@Brian Ashcraft:
hahaha that made my morning!
That was a very well done dbz fan flick and if the real movie does better or = to this I'll be satisfied. Just don't ruin my childhood cartoon Hollywood!
This video is a perfect example of why DBZ should never be a movie. Maybe it's just a criticism of DBZ, but the battles are nothing more than a ridiculous series of ever-larger energy beams / balls smashing into each other. Incidentally, this is also why the final battle in the Matrix wasn't all that interesting. When the combatants are both overpowered to the point where the winner is completely arbitrary, what kind of investment are we supposed to have in the fight?
What...did I just watch?
Casshern anyone?
LOL! This is completely comical. Thanks for the laughs. hahahaha.
@Fugs: Word.
Next time... on DRAGONBALL ZZZZZZZZ!!
Freeza's quest looks unstoppable. Has Goku really been defeated? What is the world to do!!
But what's this, is it Bulma returning from Namek? And we all know that Goho is with her! Is this the final battle for the universe? Can young Gohan do what Goku couldn't?
Stay tuned for the next exciting episode of ...
DRAGONBALL ZZZZZ!
