Didn't the red and black DS have a dodgey screen... or at least it wasn't as good as older lite screens?

@Demaar: I believe it was a certain batch of screens that just turned out bad and were on various colors of DS's, not any specific one.

Ugh, am I the only one who thinks these two-tone DS's look like ugly horse vomit?

I think they look good ... although, I'd rather have one of the special edition Gundam or Monster Hunter ones :D

@machete_bear: Ugly horse vomit is diff than pretty horse vomit? Not a vomit expert here, but I can tell you that Taco Bell vomit is way worse than say...a chicken and mashed potato vomit.

I'm not particulary fond of the two tone units, isn't it just the outer top shell that's another colour? At least the colours so far have been pleasing ones. Imagine baby shit green and clockwork orange on a DS.

@machete_bear: I think the red/black looked like crap, but this blue/black looks pretty good. Their colors seem to mesh a bit better.

@machete_bear: I don't have any horse vomit handy to compare. Do you have an image anywhere that we can use for comparison?

you have to see them in person, the red one was awesome looking, but the pictures didn't do it any justice.

WTF lol. I just noticed the missing power swith and stylus opening. Seriously, I got keep myself from buying another DS Lite, but this one is just so awesome.

I too think these two tones don't look that great. I'd prefer all one color of red or blue like the GBA lines.

nintendo, bring out a white and green two-tone (a la Zelda game & watch) and i.. won't buy it. I'll look at my white ds with sad sad eyes, but i won't buy it.

The screen on my crimson/black DS is fine. I have heard problems from other owners but my Japanese one is tip top.

Can't wait for this cobalt blue one, I will add it to my collection of DS Lites :)

I would choose this if I didn't own a black. What would really make me go out and buy this would be the inclusion of a light adjuster switch. The fucking SP had one. I don't know why Nintendo couldn't include it on the DS.

I have one of the new Zelda ones and the screen is just fine. I think it was just the Crimson and Black that had screen problems, not all new models.

As awesome as this cobalt DS looks, do I really care if Nintendo takes a black DS Lite, and straps a blue lid on it? Meh.

My first Crimson&Black had two stuck pixels but the repacement as been fine for the last 4mos now. I absolutely love it but if this one was out last year I'd have a tough time choosing between the two.

Very attractive, but I'll stick with my solid one color thanks (Golden Triforce Zelda Pack-in). This would be nice to get for multiplayer stuff though if I need it.
