I wish I could drum up this much enthusiasm, but I suppose when you're going to be one of the first games out of the gate to take advantage of the Wii Fit balance board, giving Japanese consumers something do to between intense sitting or standing sessions, you'd be excited, too. Seriously, look how much fun this family is having! Hugs all around!

I know what I'm doing the next time I want to go up north and ski.
"HEY MA! Why spend several thousands for a family trip when we can spend 40 for Family Ski!"
BUT question is. will it support snowballing? <3
OK that looks fun.
Before watching this, the board accessory seemed stupid. However, that game actually looks like it would be a pretty good time. What do those boards cost?
Woot! Relatively obscure reference time.
That looked like a blatant rip-off of the Skiing Mini-Game in the original Ape Escape.
They just never stop printing money. This will sell billions.
Oh man - now I have to decide between Super Smash Bros: Brawl and Family Ski. Damn you, Japan! It would be easier to choose which child I wanted to live!
That actually looks pretty fun!
Where's the Guncon support?
There is "Lift" mode. Woo hoo!.
One thumb up for the fun.
Can the Wii fit board determine the angle of your feet at the precise moment you jump off of the board?. How will you do tricks?.
Is "Pizza" considered a trick?
Id rather "sit" then hunched over looking like I am writing my name with my ass, in Korean.
That actually looks like fun. Will the Wii fit board actually tear your ACL while racing between moguls? That's interactivity...
It'd be cool if you could control your arms separate i.e. use the nunchuck to control your left arm/pole and the remote for the right arm/pole. Doesn't look like it's quite that slick, though.
And they say third parties can't make money on the Wii.
No, seriously. I'm predicting a million seller.
Also, it's nice that the toque accessory for Mii will get some use.
Pretty brilliant marketing. "How do we sell more controllers and peripherals? Lets add `Family` to the title!"
I've always wondered how I could get that same boring and frigid feeling of riding up a slow chair lift. I'll get the Wii-Fit board, this game, and open some windows. Shit that sounds like a good idea actually, I can save $50 each weekend!
that looks like fun actually. though I'd only play it if I didn't have to use the silly wii fit board.
@DefenderShip: sort of a sophie's choice for games, yes?
But does it support an authentic devoured-by-yeti game mode?
@Arahem: Oh, you are a winner, sir. Damn I miss that game.
I'm not even kidding: I want this so much. Please come to North America!
I mean, I would sell my family for this game.
@PITwelve: Namco probably has little desire to sell Nintendo's peripherals.
@gaseous_snake: But how would you ski with them?
@Five Element Ninja: It showed them using just the wiimote and nunchaku. Presumably you motion approximately as you would ski poles.
@Arahem: Damn, you beat me to it!
..now I want a SkiFree Wii remake SO BAD.
@Arahem: by yeti, you mean robot
That looks, to me, like incredible fun. Seriously, I'm not a skiing fan and not a big fan of sports simulation games, but that actually does look really cool.
...got to say, though, I wish the Miis looked more like the characters in that game and less like...well, like they do now.
Yeah this game looks pretty good!
Almost tempted to buy it.
@Torgen thinks AAA has lost all meaning: yeah, you probably have to do the skii pole motions to make yourself move, but I bet you still have to use the board to steer. though it's just wishful thinking, I'd rather it just have old-fashioned controls and no waggle. game still looks fun though, and I love the characters.
I will never be that happy.
Now we just need EA to recognize, and start developing a new SSX.
I have to confess to being somewhat enthused by this title. Normally I hate anything which tries to appeal too much to the casual market, but that does look pretty fun.
This seems pretty cool, let's just hope the Slalom isn't as broken as it was in SSX Blur.
@Five Element Ninja: Watch it again. When the four people are lined up all skiing at the same time, you can see that the one on the right (from the camera's perspective) has his feet flat on the ground. Considering the balance board isn't sold separately yet, that would be the only way to do multiplayer anyways.
@Torgen thinks AAA has lost all meaning: But later clearly shows the board. Possibly there's options for either or both, depending on what you have? That would make sense.
@Torgen thinks AAA has lost all meaning: ah, interesting. well here's hoping. :)
Wow, I never knew Miis could be so Moe....
Actually, you don't need the balance board to play. You can apparently play without it but WITH the balance board it enhances your game play. (Can read Japanese)
Actually I might buy this game. D:
Ummm..........
WHERE THE HELL ARE THE SNOWBOARDS?
lol. Kind of discriminative of them. Cause the Balance Board would work even better for a snowboard then skii's.
And you might not look as retarded when playing the game lol.
@Achenar: The balance board is only even mentioned for like 3 seconds? Unless I missed something, all the rest of the time they are just using the nunchuk and Wiimote. The balance board support is just some kind of nice extra.
I'd not make any assumptions about the control from these videos - they'll be faked up anyway. I mean, hopefully it will have a good control system, but on the average for Wii games, I wouldn't bet on it. Wait for reviews imo...
@Maldron: [ski.ihoc.net] Merry christmas dood. :D
This video made me cry. I wish my family could get together and wave sticks around... ):
Nifty! I'd buy it. I'm all about games that my gf and I can both enjoy... this one looks right up her alley.
Nice, I too think this game looks like fun and kind of hope Namco brings it stateside when Wii Fit comes out.
Tech question though ... The Wii has the ability to take in not only 4 wiimote/nunchuck signals but 4 wii fit boards all at the same time? Didnt know it could take in 8(+) signals.
@icarusprime: i was wondering about that too, can the wii support eight devices?
Well, it sure as hell looks better than Snowboard kids...not that that's saying much.
