An enterprising chap by the name of drkIIRaziel has apparently gotten Sega's Naomi arcade bios running on an emulator of its parent-system, the Dreamcast. Which means that, should you be the (highly) enterprising type to be able to test this out, you'll feasibly soon be able to run the arcade versions of stuff like Marvel v Capcom 2, Ferrari F355 Challenge and Ikaruga on your PC. Good times? Good times.

yayzards :) can't wait.
Hopefully I can play Time Crisis on PC
f*** yeah!!!
Shooz yea!
I mean, despicable rebel scum! The Emperor will be most displeased.
Lord Vader: But the Emperor is a little bitch, and dead.
OH HO HO! Oh yea!
Something to keep us busy during those console delays.
Have they given up trying to get SFIII to work on MAME?
Will this allow play of Sega's Initial D Arcade machines on PC?
It has a working emulator with netplay. Go to the main US kaillera server and half the games are 3s.
Better then XBL at least, though that's not saying much.
@thisisasignin: Yes, because it now works! :)
Oh my.
@thisisasignin: Worked for a while, dude.
or I can just get the DC versions of these games but hey I would like to try Jambo Safari :)
DON! KING!, can't reply to your comment bec your nametag is probably too long or something.
@Snappywave: you could have just done what you did just do? I'm confused now...
DON! KING!, sorry for the confusion... let me explain again.. I can't seem to get the icon "click here to rely to this comment" on your namtag to work correctly. I keep getting pulled to the top of the page.
Just FYI just in case you are wondering why you aren't getting links to your replies or something.
They named their bios Naomi? Dose she live inside of a scary, underground science lab with flesh cutting lasers?
Sega, hear me out. Kill her before she moves to trap all of you and turn you into zombies. Can happen.
@thisisasignin: CPS3 was cracked a while back. MAME now plays all the SFIII games, the JoJo no Kimyouna Bouken fighters, and Warzard, almost flawlessly.
This is GREAT news. I'm in the process of building a full upright MAME cabinet, as well as a set of really spiffy arcade controllers for my PC. Don't the Guilty Gear games run on the NAOMI system?
This is GREAT news. There were a bunch of great Sega arcade games on Naomi that never got ported to Dreamcast.
And for those who are wondering which games were running on Naomi boards:

I'm glad I still have my Dreamcast still set up :D
Shucks, thanks guys. Last I knew, it still hadnt. Been away too long :P
This is only good for stuff that didn't get a console port. Dreamcasts are throw-away cheap, and the games easy to get a hold of. Not that I'm trying to downplay the achievement. Still pretty cool news.
@Bakachan: IIRC GG games run on Atomis wave or something.
Too bad VF4 and Initial D run on NAOMI 2. =(
ITS MAHVEL BAYBEE!!!!! Marvel Vs Capcom 2! Oh YEAH!!!! Capcom VS SNK 1 and 2! I can't wait for this!
MANGO SENTINEL!!!!!
SCOOPS SCOOPS SCOOPS! HAAGEN DAZS
MAHVEL BAYBEEE!!!
FUCK DA KNICKS!!!
OH YOU SO PRINGLES! WHERE YOUR CURLEH MUSTACHE AT?!!
hahahahaha, I can watch that clip over and over.
As for this, ummm, can we say RAD?! I'm not really a fan of the games run on Naomi, but I have tons of friends that are. Should be really cool though for them...
And reading through the comments here I see that CPS3 was cracked?!? I didnt even know!
Damn work! Stopping me from, err, umm, backing up my games!
@suburbancowboy: OLD SCHOOL!!
MAG - FUCKING - NETO! CURLEH MUSTACHE! MAKE IT RAIN!!!
OH OH OH OH OH OH OH!!!
I really can't wait for this emulator to come.
@NMC ONE WAY: Theres a version of MAME which has Kaillera which plays CPS3 games! I keep playing JoJo's Bizzare Adventure! ORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORAORA!!!
Jambo Safari... finally I can play you from the comfort of my own home.
Ikaruga on PC? Sign me up! When I leave all my video game systems behind during my foreign exchange I'm definitely gonna miss Ikaruga. This is gonna kick ass.
MvC2 on a pc? It's easier to emulate a DC bios then this enigma code like Naomi bios for a PC. But if they ever get it, the internets will erupt with joy at the greatest 2d fighter ever
@huginn (XBL - WendingoPSU): Yeah I would love MvC2 on pc. I would just buy it for PS2 except for the tiny problem that it's $70.
It's been a while since I've fooled with a Dreamcast emulator but the best I ever got out of it was a high-resolution but glitchy and choppy Soul Calibur. Not having the hardware to rip my own collection of GD-ROMs I have to depend upon the pirate scene to locate my games which sucks, not least of which is because I will never find a rip of Sengoku Turb (a game I specifically purchased, very cheap mind you, to torture my friend with).
As for the Naomi bios, I can only say woo-hoo! It'll be interesting to see how well the emulator authors can get the games to run.
Sweet cookies!
sublime news ! now I can finally play that jurassic park lightgun game again ! or...crazy ambulance... or the original spikeout... ollie king !
what a great way to start the day :)
great job guys
Promising!
I'm just happy about the prospect of a DC emulator - the last one I tried required a special version of a virtual CD program, and didn't even work then. We've got to save SS and DC for future generations! :p
STAR WARS TRILOGY ARCADE!! Maybe? Dont know much about Naomi, but I have torn that game up plenty of times.
I welcome this solely for the possibility of being able to play Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram on my PC.
i didnt expect anyone would ever manage this. debugging the boards always resulted in burning them out owing, iirc, to a particularly fiendish copy protection module, and since theres a finite number out there i expected every available naomi board would be roasted before they finished.
Er...
This happened YEARS AGO with Chankast. Progress stalled.
Don't get your hopes up, this doesn't mean a thing.
@thisisasignin: Nope. It works now. Works VERY well now.
Good news to hear. Very good news...
@Dave Silva:
you have a LOT to learn... no pun intended
I smell MAME a comin
Finally the Gods have answer our players!!!!
