No voice acting so far, I'd consider that a good sign. I really love the characters, Sega knows how to do tennis games so hopefully they don't screw this one up.

We got beat (JSRF,) but we get him in a game I think most of us don't care about. Also the rest of the characters are poor, Sonic is a no brainer but nights and eggman and blah.

Oh and thanks Sega for not releasing this on PS3, the 360 and Wii can keep it :)

I was wondering why a tennis game would be rated everyone 10+ until I saw the end of the movie where Sonic murders Eggman with that hypersonic tennis ball (all that was missing was a spreading pool of blood next to Eggman's outstretched hand and racquet).

Game looks decent though if it really does involve all those crazy 'outside the court' maneuvers and stuff that they showed in the trailer. If it's just a reskinned virtua tennis though I'll pass.

@Raziel3333: I hear noone complaining about the half dozen Mario Kart games, the dozen Mario Party games, or the "upgrades" to golf, tennis, soccer, etc. If they were really whoring him out, the title would've been called Sonic Superstar Tennis.

If they get the Wiimote swinging right, this'll be really fun. BTW, anyone else know what other characters they could get in there(besides the Sonic ones though)?

If this movie is anything like the actual game, then I expect to have a lot of fun running outside the boundaries of the court!

I never really liked Nintendo's sport games e.g Mario Strikers, Mario hoops 3on3 and so on. But this actually got me pumped. I will totally buy this

What an incredible trailer! Man, they're making a huge statement by making it all characters that most people don't know, but SEGA fans will love. It almost feels like they don't care about trying to compete with the big guys anymore, because the idiots in this country will always just buy the popular FPS that we're all supposed to like anyways. Maybe now they'll just make great games for people who don't suck ass.

So sonic games on console have been sucking, yeah thy have, but I got to say 4 little fun tennis game featuring some classic faces, it looks cool. Love that monkey!!

@WalletMan: I would have to agree with you on the whole FPS thing. Not that I hate um, but I am not one for a genre that has not changed much or brought to the table like the several past years of Japanese gaming has(1984-2002). I must say Sega dose not have its early track record of awesome games but they are not cookie cutter games either(except for this tennis game lol)

@jmb8504: It's true. It seems the only thing Sega's gotten better at over the years is making trailers. NiGHTS has some awesome CG openers, Sonic and the Secret Rings has good stuff, and now this game.

I loved when Amigo was running though. Hilarious. Also, Aiai's eyes are creepy >_>

I particularly enjoyed the classic "hitting Robotnik" sound effect that played when he got pegged by the tennis ball.

Hmmm..I don't really know what to make of this. Part of me thinks this is interesting because Sega is finally bringing out the characters many non-gamers won't know, but the other part is me wanting to scream out at Sega to to tell them to stop trying to be the counter to Mario. Face it. Sonic will never be bigger than Mario and when Sega gets that through their thick skulls they could probably show us some games that will make us drop our jaw's in disbelief, rather sigh in annoyance.

If the dead horse coughs up loads of money, beat it some more...

Yep, this is definitly not a Sonic alone tennis game, but of course, can't have a Sega character mash game without him.

Anyway, this looks like it could be a fun little title.

To everyone criticizing Sega, you should criticize Sonic Team and their franchises instead. Sega's been releasing damn good games like Virtua Tennis, Virtua Fighter, Condemned and the Total War series for awhile, so no need to keep criticizing. Hell, even The Club looks like it's going to be a shooter beyond any other.

Am I the only one who's hoping that Toejam and Earl make an appearance?

Watching this just reinforces in my mind how utterly irrelevant Sega is becoming.

The fact that Beat and Ulala are in a tennis game and not in new iterations of their own franchises just makes me more and more annoyed.

And for all the elitist "hurr, all non-2D Sonic games suck," you can go straight to hell. My 5-year-old son adores Sonic Adventure 1, 2, and Shuffle and recognized every character from this trailer (except Amigo), and when I showed him the video, he got more and more excited with each reveal. On top of that, he's a tennis game fiend (Wii Tennis, Virtua Tennis), and he is going to have a blast with this game. And I'm going to have a blast playing it with him.

just because it looks like super mario tennis it doesnt meen it will beat it... (known to Sega's crappy standard lately they wont)
