In news that may not matter to anyone but me, the Commander Shepard N7 armor t-shirt, originally created solely for the Mass Effect development team, has been out of stock since the game's launch. A quick visit to the Bioware store today and what do I find? Back in stock, baby.
Yes, the shirt may be the geekiest piece of apparel I've ever ordered, and no offense to the makers of the game or t-shirt, but I really wish that it were done without the Bioware or Mass Effect logos for a tad more subtlety/street cred. Still, fans who love the game as much as I do may enjoy this splurge purchase that only runs about $20 shipped.

Must. resist. T-shirt buy impluse. I. ALready. Have. Like 40. Cant. Not. Buy. Awesome game. shirt. Willpower fading... bank account draining...
I got mine for free at PAX2007!!!
They are pretty sweet.
Woot! Normandy crew represent!
I too wish that it was made without the logos. Their is really no need to have them on their, and all they do is ruin an otherwise subtle and intelligent design.
I love it. It's surprisingly well made too.
If you don't like the logos, you can wear something to cover it. Maybe a cape! That won't look geeky at all.
How was my experiment in conveying sarcasm through italics? Effective or not?
Gaming T-Shirts are quite cool...I'd be tempted to opt for this one if I had played ME.
@2K Ghede: I give you an E for effort and a smiley sticker.
They should sell the MGS4 staff shirt to the public... I lucked out and got one and i get asked about it everytime i wear it... it's teh one with old snake on the front..
@JimmyHACK: Sounds cool though I like my game shirts a little more sutble stuff worn by characters is the best. I am going to dress up as altair for Halloween this year.
@2K Ghede: Gold star!
I want this, and I haven't even played the game yet.
*le-sigh*
Just ordered Mine. Can't believe its 6 bucks for shipping when I live like 2 miles from the studio. Then again, who knows where the distribution warehouse is.
I've got quite a collection of game shirts. My oldest is a Street Fighter 2 Tournament Shirt.
Just got mine, as a little tip the Valve store is mack in stock with everything but the plush cube. Thats the headcrab hat, plush toy, portal shirts, black mesa and aperture parking passes... etc
Very cool ... although, my favorite gaming shirt is the one my girlfriend made for me as a surprise :) Check it out: [img341.imageshack.us]
Yep, I have a good gf!
I just love the product description:
This spacey shirt is required wearing for all those times when you need to talk a robot into blowing itself up, take dubious advice from an imaginary super model/sentient machine, or have your hand cut-off by your angry, angry asthmatic dad.
ordered, thanks mark. I am gonna nerd it up this summer.
SOLD. Even if cost me 40 bucks (that's cheaper than most T-shirts here in Norway nowadays anyway).
I agree, Mark. The shirt looks nice enough, but the logos kind of ruin it. I'd even let the bioware logo stay on since it seems subtle, but the "Mass Effect" print on the base of the neck needs to go.
Would have bought it on impulse, but all of the sign in bullshit just killed it. Maybe later.
I don't particularly think this looks too good. It reminds me of the free polo's and t-shirts you get from attending ridiculous conferences or meetings with the logo in the corner. Anybody else get that vibe?
Ok, just ordered mine.
Ordered mine as well. Been a huge fan of Mass Effect since I read the novel. I guess I'm a Mass Effect junkie *sigh*. All I need now is light armor.
@Blanku:
You're not a true junkie until you get the Krogan head
Cap :D
Looks like the goofy cap from disney land, with more colors, and bigger ;)
Ordered mine yesterday when I noticed they were back : )
@Blanku: I too am jonesing for some light armor!
i hate that it says MASS EFFECT on it.
I got mine the first day they were offered. Nice and comfy, runs a little small (it's American Apparel IIRC) so check the measurements chart if you aren't sure, but very flattering. Too bad it's winter so I can't really wear it.
The in-joke stuff is the best. My wife got me an "Umbrella Corporation" jacket with just the text and logo, no mention of Capcom or Resident Evil, and I've gotten a couple of very impressed compliments.
I would totally purchase this shirt if I didn't always wear business shirts over my t-shirts. :/
Shirt design = cool.
Wearing a corporate logo = retarded.
They were throwing similar shirts into the crowd at PAX - I got three :) Those don't have the command stripe on the shoulder though. Actually, I'm wearing that shirt right now.
Thank goodness for Casual Friday.
That is a pretty sweet T-Shirt.... I would agree it would be better if it didn't say Mass Effect, cuz then we wouldn't be totally pegged as nerds, but I really want this shirt regardless@Deadeyereborn:
Hell yeah, I am in for one. Thanks Mark.
@logicholeflaw: Yah I also got one at PAX.
Huray for free.
Instant sale! I'm proudly Mass Effected.
For those that own it:
I am really interested in this (as you all should be), and would be ordering it right now if I didn't have a typical nerd-in-media build (overly skinny, not too tall) so there are often times when smalls are not small enough for me. Any word on how they fit vs. size?
It might not increase street-cred, but it sure does look sweet.
I'll sport one. Thanks, Mark!
I totally was into this shirt at launch, too. I went to the site just now, but my size, Large; is already sold out. Probably because of this blog article! Oh well, I would probably get raped on courier shipping with tracking number that apparently USPS doesn't offer and extra duty charges from FedEx's privateer depot. (They let you have the package as soon as it comes into Canada, but they send you an invoice in the mail for the duty afterwards which is many times higher than what USPS and Canada Post charge.) MANY TIMES. I ordered some clothes from Bungie during the support the flood month promotion but the phoney FedEx duty charges were 1.5 times the cost of my $120 order. (Not even including the difference in exchange rate between US and Canada back then). I tried to email Bungie to ask nicely if they could ship me another rather large order of stuff VIA USPS but they wrote me a rude letter back and then when I responded politely to that letter they refused to write me back.. Thanks for being big crap-heads Bungie!
