Um, the character of Goku, an important character to play, uh, been around on kid's cartoons for a while, uh, so I hope I do a good job.THIS MOVIE IS DOOMED. Hit the jump for hidden camera footage of the cast being introduced to reporters. The M.C. even forgets Justin Chatwin's name. No, really!

Aw shit.
Normally, when I see a post on the site regarding a crappy future movie, I post the same comment. "Hell, I saw Doom, I'll see this, too."
That ends today. I won't be seeing this.
Anyone want the revolver after I'm done with it?
seriously, i was still holding on to a glimmer of hope until i read this. "kid's cartoons" did this guy even watch ONE FUCKING EPISODE prior to landing this part?
yes, because if there's one thing an intelligent, thinking-man's franchise like DBZ needs, nay, requires, its articulation.
*disappears into cloud of smoke before the hate begins*
hmmm....continue.
@CFStang: me please
*Massive Cry*
@TheIrishNinja (PSN), IrishNinja2099 (XBL): lmao
Oh. My. God.
I kinda feel bad for the guy.
"And this is....uh..."
I honestly can't help but laugh at this. This is something that can't be done. You can't just through 3d animation and expect people to see. Oh wait. Still though i hope this is the movie that ends all the whole anime or video game based movies. Yes i hope that movie is that bad it blinds people
CFSTANG, I'll take that
I'm watching this out of novelty. I have to be able to justify myself when I make horrible fun of it after release.
Maybe they should have hired that Guy that kept emailing Bash.
Somebody needs to find that article.
Good lord.
These vids will cause my friend to have an ulcer.
Aye Carumba. This film will be an epic tragedy the likes that have never been seen. Shakespeare wished he could've moved as many tears with his work that this will.
I mean....damn. Just, damn.
BUT! I will go see this. I need a good cry.
This is an elobrate internet hoax. I refuse to believe they are actually making this movie! My god! Who knew that the many years of cocaine abuse in Hollywood would finally lead to this.
...
Does anyone know if the Japanese have even attempted a full motion picture live action version of Dragon Ball? ...
Wait a minute.... is Atari involved in this?!! This has their kind of failure written all over it!
@okenny :): *elaborate
Emmy Rossum is hot though, sad that this will likely end her career.
to see or not to see?
my head says no, but my heart says oh yes
DBZ -- a manga-inspired anime series that, when ported to America, was watered down and turned into children's fodder. Thankfully, the episodes have been redubbed as needed and been re-plugged with the original Japanese music, blood, sexual comments, and remastered into the Digitally Remastered episodes released every 3-4 months as seasons. I own the first 3. I'm eagerly awaiting the fourth. Some people see Dragonball Z as childrens programming. Those of us who have WATCHED more than a few episodes and have seen the anime movies, can rightfully say that they're definately not for children. They weren't orginally intended for children. For example, the Dragonball series (when Goku was a small child and before the Dragonball Z series), adult humor was a main part of the series' popularity. I think Dragonball Z should be respected by Americans for being the furst "successful" japanese anime series to really get over with Americans in general. And because of DBZ's breakthru, following anime series' have been ported to America the right way without being watered down and/or heavily edited. The most well-known being Naruto.
Say it all together folks:
THERE
IS
NO
GOD
Well, our expectations couldn't possibly be any lower... so I guess this means this movie will exceed our expectations...?
/pray
On a side note, the movie is called Dragonball, but they hired an adult to play Goku? If the movie was called Dragonball Z, I could understand.
"Chow Yun Fat"!!!! Nobody heard that??? Holy $hit Chow Yun Fat is in the movie!!!
I think that I might go to see the DBZ movie with a bunch of friends so that, along with the Speed Racer movie, Hollywood decides to make more anime adaptations JUST so we could get material worth translating into the big screen.
Take that rumored Evangelion movie, for example. That's a movie I actually want made, and right now it seems to be in production hell. Fun.
@okenny :): There has been a Japanese Dragonball movie, last I checked, but it's one of those B-movies with terrible bad effects and---well, I think SomethingAwful covered it in one of their reviews, so I doubt this version will have much trouble in comparing the two.
Ok, so just MAYBE he isn't allowed to disclose much yet?
Seriously though, he sounds like he is trying to speak slowly and feels a little uncomfortable since he is speaking in Mexico?
Yup, that just about makes sense.
@DELICIOUS_BUNNY: If that helps you sleep at night. *shrug*
"Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, uh."
Seriously, can anyone in Hollywood carry a damn sentence out without saying "uh" a million times? How annoying. You got it right Bash, this movie is going to blow chucks.
on the other hand if it was faithful to the source material there'd be meme jokes and 95% of the movie would be Goku ranting about goodness and going "HHHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!"
now a Dragon Ball movie, that could be good.
...........Oh No!!........ *Bangs Head On Wall*
Damnit! I meant "blow chunks". Damn my alochol ridden brain.
*Facepalm*
It keeps going down hill everytime I see a picture or a vid.
I kind of wish Uwe Boll was directing. Yes, I realize that makes no sense and is never going to happen, but if a movie is going to be bad, it might as well be bad in epic proportions.
@Shindokie (psn and xbl): You can't do that, there is some good anime-based video games out there. If they disappeared, I will hunt you down and kill you.
@okenny :):
1993 - DragonBall The Magic Begins
[www.badmovies.org]
Would be hilarious though if it actually turns out to be an okay action flick. Since Chow Yun Fat is Roshi I'll be expecting him to pump massive steroids to pull off a worthy Master Roshi Kamehameha.
this whole dbz movie thing makes me want to kamehameha a better movie out my ass.
@gacktplays:
That was announced a while back.
You ALL know you're going to see it. Stephen Chow producing guys! Shaolin Soccer? Kung Fu Hustle? Hopefully the action sequences will be ok.......
I'm in denial aren't I...
Who the hell cares about DBZ anymore?!
Seriously it was cool like 12 years ago but it's time is long LONG gone. It died when Sailor Moon died, and I mean way back when it played at like 6am on channels that lacked their own programs
This is going to be at least as good as Scooby Doo and Fat Albert.
@jackal27:
Wait Steven Chow is Producing it?
Is he directing, Producing really doesn't mean much more than "I gave you some money and the right to slap my name on this"
@jackal27: Stephen Chow's involved? Then perhaps this will actually have some decency; Chow is the current master of Chinese action sequences, so he might be able to pull of the ridiculousness of the fights. Here's to hoping his presence, along with Chow Yun Fat's, will keep the movie above the line of decency.
@NESv1: this was at the very very end of dragon ball, when goku was a young man. just before he married chichi and had a kid. sriously, i can't imagine someone with goku's attitude ever actually having sex, let alone at least 3 times. @TheIrishNinja (PSN), IrishNinja2099 (XBL): but can he grunt for minutes on end?
What I would give to hear Akira Toriyama's comments on this 'motion picture'.
god... i hope this movie is at least up to par to the last live action dragon ball movie D=. For those that have never seen it, you should youtube it >.>.
Dragon Ball: The magic begins.
I think Keanu Reeves would be a better Goku...
They already made a DBZ move years ago. It was called "Matrix: Revolution."
Oh dear lord the guy doesn't even have the intelligence to dress himself presentably for the press.
Justin Chatwin better not count on continuing his acting career because this giant spike covered anal dildo they call "Dragonball" The Movie is going to tear what little career he had to pieces.
I will hold out some ounce of hope that this movie won't my eyes bleed tears of disgust- that is, until I see some form of trailer. After that probably terrible trailer, I'll allow myself to call it godawful. For now though, I'll just leave this in the "will PROBABLY be laughably bad" section of my brain.
@PurpleMonkey: Not to be a jerk, but actually we may need a new word to describe how much this movie is going to s_ck :S...
DB WAS for children! It had the most hilarious juvenile humor! Boobs, poo, and lots of crazy characters. When the kids grew up to be teenagers, they changed it to DBZ. And it still was juvenile as hell, just in a different way. And I loved it! Then I grew up. I still fondly read the manga at times, though. It wasn't meant to be anything but silly entertainment. This movie will suck, though. I just hope it'll be so bad it's good.
@eatmoreokra: QFT! i want MOAR though.
@Renoistic:
It will be impossible to be so bad it is good as the constant screams of your childhood as it burns alive will drown out any possible lulz you can scrape from this.
Kids cartoon? Well, they say kids love repetition.
@Destrado: Exactly! As much as I originally hoped beyond hope that this would be good, based on who's involved (director of Final Destination I think it was) but now all I see is 'could it be any worse with Uwe involved . . . ?'
I just can't see it being any good with Chatwin seeming to not know a single thing. He obviously didn't watch anything or even think about the character at all. He doesn't care about the role and it shows. He's in it for the money.
Unrelated, but I just came from the warrenty page on playstation.com for the ps3 and it said that they could refuse service because of the usual assortment of things but then it said they could also refuse service if the problem had anything to do with God . . .
Doomed I tells ya. DOOMED!!
I'm still going to see it, at least Chatwin isn't terrible actor. As a different interpretation of the story this could still be entertaining. I'm not going to make any true calls until there's an official trailer is released.
my knickers are in a twis
